Quit Bridge.
Then hold down Cmd+Opt+Shift and when the menu above appears click on the middle box.
If that doesn't solve the problem, repeat the procedure but this time click on the top box.

Placed images with mini bridge

multiple image layouts where images are placed with mini bridge are not editable until the layout is saved, well still not, save and reopen and the images are not placed in the layout. deleated ps6 today, reinstalled, updated, purchased cc for ps.... still not working

I just tried this with a new document in CC, and I had no problem opening and editing the placed Smart Object in the unsaved document. If you place a jpg or other file that does not allow layers, and try to add a layer, it will save psb file and you will lose any editing, as the jpg will still be embedded. You either need to place psd files, or once you make some edits, use the smart object replace content to replace the jpg with the psd or psb file.

Problem with mini bridge

When I click on browse in mini bridge it opens and says " waiting for bridge CS5" nothing else happens and no files ever open. What can I do to get files into mini bridge?

FYI, you posted this to the BrowserLab forums and unless I'm misunderstanding your question I don't think this has anything to do with BrowserLab. I'm not sure what the "mini bridge" is. You might try posting your question to another forum...

Trouble with Mini-Bridge

I am using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 8.1 system. Have already had to disable Graphics Processor to stop the flickering window, now Mini-Bridge says it can't find any files. No problem with Bridge, just Mini-Bridge. Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks Curt. Yes Bridge is open. It is okay, I found the problem. Some of my library names changed when I upgraded to 8.1. Found the problem and solution.

"Big Bridge" does not launch with Mini Bridge

When I open Photoshop and launch Mini-Bridge, it does not launch "big bridge." The littel wheel turns around and a note says "waiting for Bridge CS5," but Bridge CS5 never opens. The little wheel keeps turning around and keeps waiting and waiting. I have gone into settings and tried both settings. 1. Open Bridge automatically when Mini-Bridge starts. 2. Do not start Bridge until browse files is checked. On either setting, Bridge still will not launch. Does this call for a re-install of Photoshop? Need advice. Thanks

I have not kept up on this issue. There was quite a discussion on the topic in the Photoshop Forum when CS5 came out, but issues must have been resloved as have not see anythiing on it for awhile.
Make sure you have the latest Bridge and PS updates. The use the search fuction (many times google is faster) and read some of the replies.

Noise on screen with mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter

I want to connect my MBP 15" mid'09 to the Samsung S27B970D monitor using mini DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapter. I'm using Club3D CAC-1151 adapter for this, which looks like it was made by BizLink Technology.

There is stable reproduction steps - put computer to sleep and then wake it up. For several seconds the screen is ok and after a moment the noise appears. I found only one option to remove noise - system reboot.
I think that it's software issue, something in the operation system, it's drivers. As you understand from the video above the original Apple adapter is not free from such an issue too.
So, how it could be fixed?

Error sync with Sony Bridge

I try to sync my music from iTunes playlist to my Sony Xperia Z1 by using Sony Bridge. But the problem is when I finish sync music there are error on Sony Bridge "error cannot open file". Does anyone have some solution with this problem?

You should be able to move the music or playlists from iTunes to your phone using Bridge for Mac or PC Companion as long as the files aren't DRM protected.
There is also apps that you can download from Google Play that can help you sync with iTunes. Just search for iTunes on Google Play.

I just installed XP on the Mini and I'm having occasional problems with a black screen on start up or when I switch OS. When this happens, I'm unable to get video from any OS or either computer. The only solution I've been able to come up with is to power all systems down and un/re-plug the display from the power adapter.
I've seen the article regarding black screens under NVIDIA gfx cards but that doesn't apply to my case.
Any ideas?

Oh, sorry, didn't get that. That monitor was actually called the 22" Cinema, not 21". Apple had a 21" CRT but I think that was called a Studio Display, so I got confused.
So sometimes it works correctly at 1600 x 1024 under Windows (Bootcamp) and sometimes it doesn't? Is that correct? Those times when it is giving a black screen, have you considered trying to establish a VNC connection to the mini from another computer on the network? You might find that the wrong resolution is being sent to the ACD those times when you get a black screen. Though that doesn't really tell you why it's happening, it's a starting point.

HT201177 how to share screens with mini displayport to mini displayport

I recently purchased a mini displayport to mini displayport cable to connect/share screens between my MacBook Pro (2010) and iMac (2009). There is not thunderboldt, so one of the mac genuises told me mini to mini would work the same.
I am not sure if I have to change settings, or what I need to do in order to make this work.
Anybody know how to make this happen?

iMac is late 2009 27-inch. I am looking to utilize both screens and drag apps and files back and forth. I think screenrecycler is just for display?
I looked into Synergy as well as Teleport. But wondering why neither of my computers are acknowledging the mini displayport-to-mini displayport cable?
If I need software, any recommendations?

Mini Bridge "Waiting for Bridge" error Macintosh

We'd been having this error on a couple of our computers and none of the steps in the KB article http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/error-waiting-for-bridge-cs5.html are working.
We initally set up one computer to be used as our master image. Once we had things working the way we wanted on this computer we cloned the drive using Carbon Copy Cloner and distributed the master image to 3 other computers for testing. Mini Bridge was working fine on the master image. Once we cloned the master we changed the name of the default user account to our intended user's name following Apple's directions for changing user account names. Mini Bridge did not work on any of the user accounts on the cloned computers even those accounts whose names did not change. I even tried creating a new test account and it still does not work.
I've been doing some experimenting removing various Adobe related files and then trying to use the Mini Bridge until I figured out what worked. What I found was I could go to Library/Application Support/Adobe, and using Get Info, make the default user the owner of the Adobe folder. (They already had read/write permissions.) After that they are able to use the Mini Bridge. However, none of my other user accounts can work with the Mini Bridge since they are not owners of the Adobe folder. It seems that Mini Bridge is only able to function if the current user is also the owner of the Adobe folder?
I looked at the permissions on the master for the Adobe folder and it said it was owned by root and belonged to the admin group. On the cloned images it states that it is owned by the default user and belongs to the staff group. I tried using Terminal and changed the owner and group to root and admin as it was on the master, but that didn't make any difference. It will still only work if the default user is actually made the owner of the folder.
We will be cloning several more computers this way and I'd like to figure out why this is not working and see if there is a way to make it work for all users of the computer. I am sure something is happening with permissions on the Adobe folder when the user account is renamed on the clone, however I also did a group of 4 laptops this same way and those cloned computers all work fine under all user accounts.

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally got it working today.
We've been using Bridge for quite a while but the Mini Bridge is new to us as we are just now updating to CS5. I did notice a bit of lag time with Mini Bridge and sometimes it didn't want to display the items on networked drives, but if I hit the backward and forward arrows it would work, so maybe just a screen redraw issue or something there, but other than that it seems to be working ok over our network for now.
Your tip about having only one copy of Bridge open at a time was the key. We have been able to open the same program on multiple user accounts simultaneously before, but I can't say that we have with Bridge. I didn't notice it at first but when you choose Mini Bridge in InDesign it is actually opening the full Bridge in the background though it doesn't open the Bridge window, but looking at my Dock I see where it has been launched. When I would switch to another user account to test the Mini Bridge I wasn't closing out of Bridge in the first account, since I didn't realize it was open, so I'm assuming since it was still open there it could not launch it under the second user. Once I closed out of Bridge on the first account it worked fine on the second.
So think we have it resolved now.
Thanks so much for the tip! This has been driving me crazy for a day and a half. Now I can get on with my other computer set-ups.
By the way, we are ok on the number of CS copies floating around, we have a volume license. :-)

Mini Bridge NOT installed in PS CS6

Holy Cr@p - THis is the third time I am entering this question trying to get help!!!
Running PS CS6 with Win Vista. Cannot access Mini Bridge because the error message says "Mini Bridge Extension is not installed"
QUESTIONS:
1: How do I install Mini Bridge?
2: Seeing I had no install error message - what else may not be intalled and how can I check?

I would recommend by starting with the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/. It will automatically review your installation logs and attempt to locate solutions.
Alternately you can view the installation logs yourself by following the directions listed in Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

Is there anything inside Photoshop CC 2014 that functions like the old Mini Bridge?

In previous versions you had the option "open in mini bridge" i understand it has been removed for 2014 but is there anything similar in function?

Not that I know of, but you can run the full version in the background (since it was needed with mini bridge anyway) And use your modifier keys to switch between the two programs. (In windows it is alt-tab) In windows you can also tile the two programs by right clicking on the task bar. Also you can make the bridge window small enough so you can see photoshop while bridge is the active app then you can drag and drop files to photoshop.
Or you can keep both programs full screen and drag the file in bridge to the taskbar over the photoshop icon so that photoshop pops up the drag back up to photoshop and let go. Sounds like a bit of work but is very easy to do and remember to keep that mouse button held down until you have the cursor over the document area of photoshop.
It may not be as pretty or neat but will work.(for now)

CS5 Mini Bridge Opens Images in Windows Paint

Can anyone tell me how to open images with Mini Bridge into Photoshop CS5? I have both an XP and a Windows 7 64-bit computer. I just downloaded the update to the CS5 program I had already installed and now when I go to open a JPEG image in Mini Bridge it opens the image in a program called Paint. When I use Bridge itself, with the settings set to "Automatically open all supported JPEGs" it opens my JPEG images in Camera Raw (which is fine). Do I have to reset the Preferences in order to clear everything out and start from scratch or is there another workaround that someone can tell me?

Yes, that is exactly what I did. Should I then always keep the prior version available in the computer or uninstall the earlier version before installing the upgrade version? I don't recall having this problem in earlier versions of LR or Photoshop.
I will go ahead and reinstall both CS5 and LR3 after deactivating. Darn I was hoping there would be a workaround, but I have no idea what the previous file associations would have been or how to change them in LR. I sure did learn a valuable lesson though.

Can not creat Ratings in Mini Bridge

I checked mode and they are in filmstrip. I tried all the other modes with the same result.
One other thing is the mini bridge icon does not appear automatically with the pallets. I have to go to the file menu and open it. It does show the file names. And I can edit them ( the names). But I cannot add a ratting. And if a file has a ratting it does not show.
I can add ratings just fine in big bridge.
But if I do a search for ratings ( 5 Stars) it finds them but does not show the ratings.

When you look at the bottom right of Mini Bridge, you have two sets of icons. The one on the left is the Preview mode and the second is the View mode. Filmstrip is one of the view modes. However, with Mini Bridge you have to be in a Preview mode to apply ratings. Mini Bridge isn't showing thumbnails

Hi.
Everything with Photoshop and Bridge CS5 is working super accept for the mini bridge ???
It just shows "waiting for Bridge CS5" all the time and nothing ever happen and everything
else is working perfect i think.
Running iMac 27" i5, 8GB of Ram, Mac OS X 10.6.3 and a
Macbook Pro 15" 2.8Ghz, 4GB of Ram, Mac OS X 10.5.8, same with both.
I checked all the maintenance stuff you can do for fixing but nothing helped.
Anyone have this problem ?

Just found out I have this problem today. I suspect it might have something to do with the updates I installed this morning. I can't remember exactly what they were but there was one each for Bridge and Photoshop (CS5). Previously I haven't had an issue with Mini Bridge at all but I don't use Photoshop on a daily basis. Now I find anything to do with Mini Bridge locks up Photoshop and I have to force quit it. Photoshop works OK as long as I don't use Mini Bridge.
