Error: Source system already exists. Message no. RSAR201
We have installed a BI 7.0 system recently and I am setting up the server to connect to SAP ERP.
In TA SM59 a connection to the SAP ERP has been established. The “Remote Logon” is OK, (meaning clicking it nothing happens). The “Connection Test” is OK.
According to the Best Practices paper: “B84: BI Connectivity” (B84)
http://help.sap.com/bp_biv170/BBLibrary/documentation/B84_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc
I have done the following:
In TA RSA1
1.     Choose Modeling.
2.     Choose Source Systems.
3.     Select SAP in the window on the right.
4.     Choose the Context menu (right mouse click).
5.     Choose Create.
6.     Make the following entries:
Available destination: (The above tested connection)
Background user in source system: RFCUSER (I created the user in ERP according to step 1.4 in “B84”)
Password for source system: *****
Background user in BI: RFCUSER (I created the user in BI according to step 1.4 in “B84”)
Password for BI user: *****
8.     In the dialog box Please log on as an administrator in the following screen choose Continue.
9.     Log on to the Source System with your administrator user. Choose the correct client.
10.     On the dialog box New Source System Connection choose Continue.
THEN I GET THE ERROR:
Source system already exists.
Message no. RSAR201
What is wrong? I cannot locate any SAP notes to help on this problem.
Best regards,
Carsten Pold

Hello Carsten,
just some guessing at this point...
a)
Is the connection really new? For example, was there another system connected to that ERP, maybe with the same logical name? Or was any of the two systems copied from another system?
b)
Authorisations issues in this process may result in strange error messages. Make sure that the admin user in step 9 really has SAP_ALL. There are a lot of complex activities that this user must be able to do (ALE management, RFC access etc.). To exclude issues with the RFCUSER users: If possible, give them SAP_ALL, too. Of course only temporarily for testing.
c)
I normally don't use existing RFC destinations. Usually, I let the system create those, too. So maybe it makes a difference if you remove the RFC destinations on both sides and try again. In that case, you will of course have to provide the RFC details when creating the source system connection...
I hope this brings you forward a little...
Regards,
Christian!

  • Source System Already Exists

    Dear Team,
After the system copy from PRD to DEV, all the existing source system(s) from our ealier R/3 quality
got vanished, according to BASIS team, the source sys assignments have been deleted during the databse restore, Now, the problem is, when am trying to create the source system(s) again, the system is throwing the Msg. 'Source system already exists' and not allowing to create newly.
I would request you guys to share your ideas/solution to fix this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards.

    Hi,
Yes that is correct, but Basis team need to set the parterner profile and Idoc connections between the Source and BW system, it is common error, whenver you copy the source client.
    check 886102 note.
Note: No need to create source system, just need to adjust the settings in WE20.
    Thanks

  • Import-spweb with -force errors out with "already exists" message

So, I did an export-spweb of an existing site (migrated from SP2007 and still retains the SP2007 look and feel) and created the files containing it. I then went to a new farm, with a new site collection on a new content database. Nothing else exists
    there.
    I run
    Import-spweb –identity
http://mytestsite/sites/ITSM -Path d:\temp\itsm –verbose –force –nofilecompression
and after a few minutes, we get:

[5/27/2014 1:47:15 PM] [List] [Links]   ExtendedVerbose: Creating

I don't understand why, with the -force, it just didn't overwrite whatever it thinks was there. That's how I interpret the meaning for the flag.
It suggests that I chose another title - I am trying to create an exact duplicate of the original site, so giving a different title defeats my objective.
Is there something that I am missing?
We ended up without any site at all to go to... at the very least it could have created all that it could from the file.
    Thank you!

Weird - how would a site have two lists with the same name and path?
How would I get around this? I mean, the export had no problem creating the data... I expected the import to rebuild the same thing that was exported.
I take a look at the lists and libraries on the original site and there is 1 list that appears with the name "Links". There are other lists that have the word Links as part of their name - but
not a second one with the simple name of "Links".

  • Error creation of JCO connection: System Already Exist

    Hi Experts,
We have created the SLD connection to the ECC6.0 from the Portal 7.0.
Created one JCO connection using that SLD successfully for the Clinet 100.
Now we required to create one more JCO Connection for client200 also. But it is giving the Error that
    System Already Exist.
How can we resolve this. When we create the JCO connection for one client, con't we create one more JCO connection for the same system for the differt client or not?
    If so How do it?
    Regards

I think you can add one more client in the existing connection. well, I am not sure about that even.

  • Transporting Process Chain - error  Source system does not exist

    Hi,
I tried to transport a local PC by itself (not including its main meta chain) since I have only done modifications in the local PC only. In the PC, there are PSA Processing, ODS Processing, ODS Activation, ABAP Program w/ variants and Infocube Rollup.
However, I got the following transport error: Source system does not exist
    =======
    Diagnosis
    Source system  is not known.
    System Response
The imported data for DataSource  was deleted again because the referenced source system does not exist and no mapping is defined in table RSLOGSYSMAP on an existing productive source system.
    Procedure
Create the referenced source system in the Data Warehousing Workbench or define mapping to a known source system in table RSLOGSYSMAP.
You get to maintenance using Tools -> Conversion of the logical system names.
    ============
I have checked at the table RSLOGSYSMAP and all source system mappings are in order.
And the weird thing is, upon checking the PC itself in the transport-to box, I can activate it without any error.
FYI, we are currently upgrading to BI Accelerator. Am not sure if this could be one of the reasons.
Any inputs and tips are highly appreciated and will be rewarded with points accordingly.
    Thanks

    Hi,
This error is due to the fact that the
mapping table for the after import (RSLOGSYSMAP) is not correct maintained in PB7 system.
You need to maintain table RSLOGSYSMAP in each system
You can find the steps to do it in the attached note 127326:
o  Maintain table 'RSLOGSYSMAP' in the target BW with view
'V_RSLOGSYSMAP' and enter as 'original source system' the logical name of the source system in the source BW and as 'target source system' the logical name of the source system in the target BW.
This maintenance is required since it allows the correct source system reference of the InfoSources to be transported.
This source system reference in turn is absolutely necessary to activate the transfer structure.
       Example:
Source BW with source system AAA.
Target BW with source system BBB where the source system AAA
corresponds to the source system BBB.
Entry in RSLOGSYSMAP in the target BW:
Original source system: AAA, target source system: BBB.
Give the DDIC user in the source BW in client 000 the
authorization profile S_RS_ALL to create BW objects.
    Cheers
    Rajesh

Is there any importamnt step that I am missing why are the objects not recognizing the source system?

    Hi vinod kumar,
i hope you need to map source system From QAS to DEV system,
genereally from DEV to QAS configuration will be there, but here request is moving from QAS to DEV so i think this should be configured.

    Hi,
You can check the similar settings in the Demo database and if the issue is not reproduced, it can be a database corruption.
Probably, you need to log a support Ticket to SAP in order to get your issue investigated.

  • Getting "object already exists" message when trying to install new software.

Quite coincidentally, I came across a solution for the "object already exists" message that had recently been interferring with the downloading of new software.  This solution was offered by another on a different website, but it has solved my problem.
My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate.
The Windows Security Update  KB2918614 seems to be wreaking havoc with some systems.  It did so with mine.
After removing this particular update, I am now able to install software (was actually just trying to reinstall my HP printer software as I am having another issue with it).
Don't know if this will help anyone else, but it worked for me.

To rid myself of the "object already exists" issues due to the Windows Security Update KB2918614 . . . I have learned that an additional step must be taken to keep Windows Updates from automatically reinstalling this update . . . once again, preventing installation of software.
One needs to hide the update to prevent Window Updater from reinstalling.
    Taken from the Windows community:
Marilyn - Support Engineer replied on December 9, 2008
The update in question can be hidden, which will prevent this update from downloading and installing.
    To hide this update:
           Open Control Panel
           Open Security
           Select ‘Windows Update
Select the option View Available Updates in the upper left hand corner
Locate the update in question, right click and select ‘Hide Update’
    Thanks
Once again, my operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate and this particular update was causing difficulty for my specific operating system.

  • Getting error DeviceInfo Name already exists Parmeter Name:deviceInfoName in SSRS

    Hi ,
We are Getting error "DeviceInfo Name already exists Parmeter Name:deviceInfoName" when click on report. From ASPX page we are calling the reports.ASPX pages hosted in IIS and Reports are deployed in report server.
Some times only click on any report we are getting the above error message.Closing the broser and click on the same link it is working fine. This issue is heppening for some times only.
Please let me know whether i need to set any property in IIS to recycle or Report server to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,
According to your description, when calling reports in ASPX page, sometimes it throws “DeviceInfo Name already exists Parmeter Name:deviceInfoName” error message.
I would like to know which version of SQL Server you are using. In SQL Server 2008 and later versions, SSRS doesn't use IIS anymore, although it does use the same driver (http.sys) as IIS to manage connections.
In Reporting Service, it control Recycling by setting RecycleTime . The default value is 12 hours. Garbage collection runs continuously as well as when application call the GC function. When the application use garbage collection, Reporting Service is blocked
and waiting for garbage collection to be completed. During this time, Process Monitor misunderstands that Reporting Service is stopped, so Process Monitor stops Reporting Service really and create a dump file.
In configuration settings, ProcessTimeoutGcExtension can affect Reporting Service when garbage collection is in progress. So in your scenario, I would recommend you to modify the RSReportServer.config file to add the ProcessTimeoutGcExtension key. Configuration
settings for Reporting Service are stored in the Reporting Services configuration file(this file locates at xx:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config). For detail information about how
to add the ProcessTimeoutGcExtension key in Reporting Services configuration file, please refer to this article:
When you use SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services, the ReportingServicesService.exe process may stop responding during CLR garbage collection.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best regards,
    Qiuyun Yu

  • When I try to install Lightroom 5.6 I get a "Object already exists" message. I can't install it at all

I updated Lightroom to 5.6 before going away for the weekend. When I came home I was unable to access lighroom all together. After searching I finally found how to chat with customer service (which I can't figure out again) and they told me to uninstall Lightroom, make a new Admin on my computer, and re-install it on the new Admin. When I did this I still get the same "Object already exists" message and it won't even install now.

    Do a clean (re)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * Delete the files and folders in the %temp% folder.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
