Error starting syncclient_ba_bb9530: Symbol'BlackberryPIM.openUnifiedPIMList' not found

Please help. I am trying desperately to download Backup Assistant to my Storm and keep receiving the above error message when I try to run the program even though it says it was successfully installed. I have searched message boards, tried to navigate Verizon's support Web site, spent an hour-and-a-half on phone with tech support this morning and was basically told, "Sorry I don't know how to help you." I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app SEVERAL times. I have "rebooted" the phone. I dialed *228 and selected option 2. I took the battery out and replaced. I have updated/downloaded everything I can think of. I registered the host routing table again. I enabled all permissions to "allow."
After all that, I gave up and downloaded the BlackBerry desktop manager software to my laptop and when I connected my phone with USB and told it to backup/sync, it gave me another error message.
The only conclusion I have come to is this phone is a lemon several times over.
SOMEONE AT VERIZON PLEASE HELP. I have a new Storm 2 I want to activate but cannot do so until I get my contacts off this Storm.

I ran into this error upgrading a Storm to an Droid 2. Here's what I learned.
1. The Storm had an old OS, one that had never been upgraded during ownership. When I installed Blackberry Desktop Manager it wanted to push out the latest OS - so I realized that may have been part of the problem.
So anyone running into this problem might want to consider upgrading the Storm OS. It seems a lot of work given that you are going to throw the phone in a drawer, so onto #2.
2. In desperation I googled Blackberry Android and found an article on what you should know when upgrading from one to the other. The article mentioned Google Sync - so I downloaded that on to the storm, then synced to the Gmail account. That pushed up the contacts.
After I activated the Droid 2, I was forced to sync to Google as part of the install - and sure enough, the contacts were there. I could have saved a couple of hours researching this error and on the phone with the VZ Helpless Desk had I read this article first.
So anyone running into this error in the future, try the above solutions before you waste your time like I wasted mine. And oh, if you have any doubts about upgrading from the Storm to Android, set them aside. I can't believe I suffered with the Storm for as long as I did. When I switched to the Droid X it felt like I had been swimming with one arm tied behind my back, and with the Droid X I suddenly felt like I not only had both arms, but flippers too.
Enjoy!

  • Error starting net_rim_bb_dryad_gui:symbol 'Security.deviceUnderAttack' not found

everything deleted off my curve 9300 when i updated the phone yesterday. I need to try and restore everything using Blackberry Protect but now it wont open. It just says error starting net_rim_bb_dryad_gui:symbol 'Security.deviceUnderAttack' not found. Any help would me much appreciated. Thanks

That software has some compatibility issues. You use BBDM (BB Desktop Manager) which is recomended from the BB authorities.
Now you are in a situation that you cannot use BBDM because you use BB protector software to backup your data. if your file extention is ipd then it wil work
Here you can do to resolve your problem
If your backup extention is IPD then you can use BBDM either BB protector
If not then download again the latest version from the web of BB protector and try to restore you data.
If that work then thats great and from now on dont use BB protector
If not then try to restore from another pc
if that dont work then you dont have any choice but to loose you data.
Thats the only solutions you found on any where.
Need any help let me know.

  • Updating iTunes with error message "this application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found"?

After updating iTunes, has anyone got the message "this application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." message and "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)"?  I've tried everything from un-installing and re-installing iTunes to deleting the SC Info. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • HT6001 I have tried numerous time to update iTunes to Version 11.1.4.  Each time it has failed. I get the message of "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found".  Also I get a message of "Error 7". Advise please.

I have tried numerous time to update iTunes to version 11.1.4.  It has failed every time.  Now I can't even get into iTunes on my PC.  The message I get is "This application has failed to start because MSVCR60.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix the problem."  Okay. Which application?  What steps are needed for this process?
Also, I get this message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 126)"  Could someone please assist me in the steps necessary to remedy this issue.  Thanks.

For many users at this point in time (iTunes 11.1.4.62) uninstalling iTunes alone is not enough and they may need to undertake further steps...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.
