Searched the forums and couldn't find this previously posted. I installed the base J2EE Edition of JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 on Solaris and had the start/stop preconfigured OC4J (Traffic light) icons on the menu. When I installed the Windows Install J2EE Edition of JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 on a Windows 2000 machine and started up JDeveloper, the icons are not displayed in the icon menu. Does anyone know the reason for this?
thanks,
rickDon't know how to delete this post, so I will just reply to it. You can disregard this post. I inadvertently downloaded the J2EE version vice the Studio version. Sorry and thanks! rick

However,When i am starting the standalone OC4J which comes with the JDeveloper and deploying the application on that then i am having a clean Startup and deployment.
Also i am able to access the net.
Thanks,
Gaurav SinghHi Gaurav,
1. What is the JDK version you are using to start your standalone 10.1.3 OC4J?
2. Have you configured any datasources or Resource archive files on the 10.1.3 OC4J?
3. What is the version of the OC4J that jDev is using?
4. What is the version of JDev?
Looks like there is an incompatibility somewhere the above information will help. Thanks.

EM AS Control display problem in preconfigured OC4J of JDev 10.1.3.4.0
I just downloaded JDeveloper Studio Edition for Windows 10.1.3.4.0 from TechNet, unzipped it and started it. I started the WebCenter preconfigured OC4J. From a browser I tried to access Application Server Control: http://localhost:6688/em. A page is displayed but it is obviously not formatted correctly. Stepping through the pages, something is clearly wrong. What did I do? How do I fix it?
I guess this is a bug in JDev - I experienced it too in at least two installations. I hope Oracle fixes this soon - Peter Moskovits, any suggestions?

Migrating security settings from embedded oc4j to preconfigured oc4j
Hi,
I was able to configure security in my 11g TP3 ADF application, and run it successfully against embedded oc4j.
Now, when I want to migrate this to preconfigured oc4j, I am getting ERROR:null.
Please see the steps I follow:
set CLASSPATH=C:/JDeveloper/j2ee/home/jazn.jar;C:/JDeveloper/BC4J/lib/adf-share-base.jar;C:/JDeveloper/j2ee/home/lib/security-api.jar;
After that, I run the migration tool:
java oracle.security.jazn.tools.JAZNMigrationTool -sr jazn.com -dr jazn.com -st xml -dt
xml -sf "C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\config
\system-jazn-data.xml" -df "C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\oracle.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.
0.071218.1800\j2ee\home\config\system-jazn-data.xml" -m policy
This is because, as I mentioned in the earlier mail, the webcenter preconfigured oc4j's configurations are read from the directory :
C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\oracle.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.
0.071218.1800\j2ee\home\config\system-jazn-data.xml
and, the embedded oc4j's configuration is read from the directory :
C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\config
\system-jazn-data.xml
However, when I run the migration tool, I get a message ERROR:null. Also, I dont have adfshare.jar, and instead, I have put adf-share-base.jar. Is there something I could be missing here ? Please advise.
Best Regards,
nattuHi,
Try enabling java logging to see what the exact error is. That might give you an idea of what the error could be..
When I tried, I got the below error though I added jps-common.jar, which contains CredStoreResources, into the classpath
java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find oracle.security.jps.internal.common.resources.credstore.CredStoreResources bundle
at java.util.logging.Logger.setupResourceInfo(Logger.java:1293)

at oracle.security.jps.util.JpsLogger.getLogger(JpsLogger.java:108)
at oracle.security.jps.service.credstore.CredentialAccessPermission.<clinit>(CredentialAccessPermission.java:60)
~ Bijesh
P.S:check the destination file path. Are you sure that's correct. I believe It should be something like ""C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.

Please help.Hi Gaurav,
Thanks.

JAZNInitException error - Starting OC4J ---- Nobody answers??? :(
Hi!
I've installed Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 (OC4J embedded), without patches at this moment.
When I try starting OC4J (startinst.bat), it gives me the following error:

The error you posted looks like an XML error. Check to verify the well-formedness (I don't like that word!) of the server.xml.
The beginning of your server.xml file should look like:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<application-server xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/application-server-10_1.xsd" application-directory="../applications"
check-for-updates="adminClientOnly"
deployment-directory="../application-deployments"
connector-directory="../connectors"
schema-major-version="10" schema-minor-version="0" >This must be closed, with </<application-server> at the end of your server XML file. This is the root element of your server.xml.

Errors starting OC4J through JDeveloper
When I try to run the jsptags tutorial in JDeveloper, it attemps to start the OC4J. I get the following two errors before the startup confirmation:
Unable to register the NameService:
Error starting up the IIOPService ..
Oracle9iAS (9.0.3.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
I'm assuming it's a configuration issue. Please advise.FYI, I found the error myself. I have ZoneAlarm running on my desktop so shutting it down solved the problem. I don't know why ZoneAlarm didn't ask if the NameService and IIOP services could be run.

Exporting Printer's Spread (PDF)
I'm trying to figure out a way to export a file (designed as reader's spread) as printer's spread on a PDF on Indesign CS3. I'm trying to use the Inbooklet feature, but so far I can only make it print spreads, not save them as PDFs. Any suggestions?
