Error Synchronising Torch 9800

Hi - when I try to synchronise I get the following error:
Error line 1041 in c:\hudson\jobs\rim7.1\workspace\rsutils\rectrans\rstol\rstoloom\0IAccess.h
I have been told to log this. Pease help.

Hi carolinebirkby,
Could you provide more information on the synchronization issue you are having please?
What version of BlackBerry® Desktop Software do you have installed? Which email client on the computer are you synchronizing with and what version is it? What version of Windows® OS are you running? Do you receive this error when syncing calendar, contacts, memos or tasks? You may have to synchronize each individually in order to see this.
Thanks.

  • Sync - "disconnected" error with Torch 9800 & Windows 8

I have a Torch 9800 and Microsoft Surface Pro with Windows 8. I have installed Desktop Manager three times and it will sync with my BB only once. I have activated .NET 3.5 in Windows, changed USB cables, ensured my BB battery is charged. What should I do to resolve this issue?

    Hi jvanhalst,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Can you provide more information on this issue please?
What exactly happens when you try to synchronize?
Is this happening when syncing organizer data only, or media files also?
What is the full error message you receive?
Are you able to sucessfully connect with the BlackBerry Desktop Software to backup or use any of the other functions?
I look forward to your response.

  • Torch 9800 will not synch

I had a Windows failure that has resulted in all programmes having to be re-installed, including Blackberry Desktop. Now when I connect the Torch 9800 to my computer the programme opens and the model is recognised but it fails to connect to synchronise. Error message - "Blackberry Desktop Software cannot comunicate with the connected device".
How can I solve this problem as all the requisite conditions for connection have been fulfilled.

Sounds like Windows doesn't have the drivers loaded for USB.  Did you reinstall windows on the computer?  Sounds like a driver problem on the computer.  If you didn't install windows, can you check with who did?  Is there another computer you can test this on?  that will narrow down the source of the problem.

  • Torch 9800 ''email set up icon not responding'' ... unable to edit or set up email accounts.

Torch 9800, Network provider, O2 UK.
Although my BlackBerry service with O2 is connected and working as normal, I am totally without email on my Torch 9800. I have owned the Torch 9800 since March. All has been well until last week when I changed the password on one of the 3 email accounts I had set up on my device.  This password change left one of the accounts unable to send or receive mail, and is also what lead me to discover that I could not enter email set up on my device or via my network providers website ( www.o2email.co.uk ) .
I have spent hours on the phone with O2 discussing this issue. The usual checks and procedures have been carried out, battery pulls, checking settings etc and the service books have been deleted and resent several times. These actions have not resolved the problem but instead led to the loss from my device of the other 2 email accounts which were working correctly but have now disappeared into thin air. Having tried all possible solutions with O2 I now come here looking for an answer.
When I visit my Network Providers BlackBerry mail service trying to create an account using my pin etc,  I am without fail getting a pop up box containing  the error message ''Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your devive to access BlackBerry Internet Service''  !?  The result is the same whether I log in from my device over 3G or Wireless, or from a PC (have tried several browsers) .
On my device, when I click on the Email Accounts icon from the setup menu nothing happens, no response at all. I have tried many times and there is just no way to set up or edit mail accounts. I am without mail on my device and growing increasingly short of patience.
I am now hoping somebody here can offer me some advice on how to resolve this issue. What use is a BlackBerry without email capabilities ? I see from researching email set up problems on the Torch 9800 that I am not alone here so if somebody at BlackBerry is listening ? If this is a Torch 9800 issue then I am sure you will be doing all you can to resolve this but in the meantime PLEASE help by offering a solution to the issues I have mentioned.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums, bs342!
Well, since you searched the forums, you are undoubtedly aware that the problem you report is unfortunately a common one these days.  The good news is that RIM is definitely aware of and working on the problem.
First, let's try something on your computer.  What browser are you using?  Your problem there might just be as simple as clearing cache in your browser, then closing and reopening the browser to try the website again.
If that doesn't work, try this:
From your device's browser, go to mobile.blackberry.com. Select your country of choice, then go to Communicate>Email. Scroll down to Other Personal Email and click on Integrate Now, then Launch Email Setup. You should be able to integrate your e-mail accounts that way until RIM has fixed this issue.
Please let us know how it goes!

  • Synchronizing Outlook Calendar entries with a Torch 9800

I have a customer with a Torch 9800 who is suffering a problem so severe that I can't believe it's a problem that RIM have ignored so I'm assuming there must be a solution.
The problem is that when Intellisync synchronizes the Torch, all Calendar appointments (other than recurring ones) older than 2 months are deleted - not only from the Torch (which is mildly acceptable), but also from Outlook (which is 100% totally unacceptable).  These entries are unrecoverable and the customer's historical records have been competely destroyed!!!   If this is not a bug I can't imagine who on God's Earth thought this might be a good idea!!!
Whilst I recognise that "synchronise" suggests that both devices should end up the same I also recognise that storage limitations in the Torch may be unable to cope with the volume of appointments stored over the years in Outlook but I see no reason for such limitation - if that is the reason.
The settings for Intellisync are currently set to 365 days, both past and future, but this seems to be ignored with the 2 month past history being the limit imposed without choice.
If someone can shed any light is this issue I would be most appreciative.
    Regards
    Dave

Nokia has helped me with a solution...
    My previous sync settings were:
    1. automatic synchronisation - do not synchroniseautomatically 2. conflict resolution - Microsoft outlook 3. Direction - updatein both directions 4. Sync profile - empty
I have now created a sync profile on the phone and haveset the same one on PC sync (not sure if that did anything)
I also changed the Direction setting to: Delete allmobile phone data and replace it with outlook data
    And have run a sync.
This has worked to delete all old outlook emails etc. Ican see that I will need to do this every now and again to ensure that thephone doesn't get full of old entries.
I will now return the sync setting to - update in bothdirections. Until I need to do it again.
    Thanks for your help everyone.

  • Upgrade software for torch 9800

I have BB Torch 9800. I m living india and carrier is Airtel. Can anybody help me to how to upgrade software.

    Hello,
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
    3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    5) Launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC. If, during the process, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
    Don't forget to backup.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    Now, try the browser again,

  • How do I re-install the operating system on my BlackBerry Torch 9800 - I am sure it is hacked.

    Greetings,
Can someone point me to instructions on how to re-install the operating system on a BlackBerry Torch 9800 and then upgrade it to the latest release?
I have done this several times in the past, due to recurring hacking, but have lost the instructions.
Thank you very much for your help.
    Regards,
    Jean-Pierre
P.S. I would preffer a releas of the OS without any pre-install applicaitons such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,
and above all, Whastapp. Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • Blackberry torch 9800 wifi connected but no internet

hi i am using blackbery torch 9800.its giving error that wifi is connected but no internet connection.please help me

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support and to ensure that you are subscribed to a data plan from them that is adequate to use the services you desire (many services require a data plan, even if the method of access is only WiFi).
    Good luck!

  • Rogers can't add a US roaming package 'due to a setting in my Torch 9800" help!

I have had my Torch 9800 for a couple of years and each time I go to the US I was able to text them a message and buy the US roaming package - I now get an error message SMSWS-101. I phoned Rogers and they cant add the US roaming minutes either - said its a setting in my phone! Our corporate IT that run our BES server say its not them, as they dont use any policies .This all happened after the BB software upgrade earlier this year. Maybe some setting deep in the OS has got corrupted or changed!. Any help will be appreciated - as I will be travelling to the US this weekend!

I'm not aware of any setting ON the hardware itself for that.
I suggest you get your BES Admin and Rogers to collaborate on this... quickly. Likely a Rogers problem.

  • Sun Java Virtual Machine for Torch 9800

Hi All This is my first message on Blackberry Forum. Hope I can resolve my problems easily. Most of the Java games not working in my Torch 9800.  All of them can install but getting errors. Apps are working well but games are not working. How can I fix this?
I used Sony Ericsson K300i before. Games and apps are working perfectly. But I can't understand why Blackberry doesn't support? Hope someone's help on this matter.
    Thanks

This maybe old but i have the same question.

  • AW vers. 4.3.0.32 frozen icon story with a fix on a Torch 9800

This is a story of what happened when I installed the newest AW version on my Torch 9800 with device version 6.0.0.706.
I got a message from BlackBerry that a new AW version 4.3.0.32 was available.
WOW, I just finished installing 4.3.0.26 last Sunday; see my first story:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-World/AW-version-4-3-0-26-installation-story-on-a-...
I clicked the upload link in the message and then selected ‘upgrade’ in the familiar AW window screen of version 4.3.026.
After the reboot I clicked the AW icon but no action. It looked like the AW icon was ‘frozen’. Clicking the icon did not open the AW start up screen. I then checked via  ‘Application Management’ that the AW app was loaded and saw that it was already running,  e.g. 4.3.0.32 had consumed some CPU time; most likely it was started by the reboot (?) which is still an issue on my Torch after 2 years of ‘fixing’ hopes.
OK, it was time again to wipe my Torch but using the DTM’s ‘Update’ function.
Why I am doing it this way?
If one pretends to do an ‘Update’ by using the existing current device software version of one’s phone, DTM’s ‘Update’ function has the wonderful property of restoring the phone’s settings and current data plus reinstalls all one’s apps, even the paid apps.
This method as described in the above link worked well for me again. The only drawback: it takes about ½ hour of one’s time.
After the reboot was complete and I disconnected my phone from DTM the icon worked properly and all was good with vers. 4.3.0.32 on my Torch, end of story for now…..

    Hi :-)
    Thanks for your answer.
I forget to mention that : I've already try to uninstall and re-install with the most "clean" process I could imagine ;-)
uninstall (the "uninstall" option of the 2 proposed : "uninstall" and "supress")
    reboot
install -> error popup, no FB
reboot - error popup, no FB
    another try
uninstall (the "Supress" option of the 2 proposed : "uninstall" and "supress")
    reboot
install -> error popup, no FB
reboot - error popup, no FB
    no clue :-(

I have recently bought Torch 9800 and I have upgraded my plant to use browser services.
Problem arised when I tried to upgrade Blackberry App World, while downloading my phone automatically rebooted.
After reboot there was no icon for Blackberry App World and also I couldnt browse.
So I checked with my service provider and they asked me to check my browser settings,
to my misery now there is no 'Browser Configuration' in option menu.
Please somebody help me with this...I am really stuck as SP says nothing they can do about it.

Hi. I tried it, but it did not help. :(
It is strange. Before I had the error in log:
Unable to rename '/appl/ucm_cluster/server/weblayout/resources/schema.work' to '/appl/ucm_cluster/server/weblayout/resources/schema' while publishing schema.
When I looked into the 'schema' dir there was old doctypes in js file
In 'shcema.work' which was supposed to be renamed to 'schema' there was my correct document type in js file.
Now in /server/weblayout/resources/schema/views/doctypes/all.js file there is only my correct document type but i still have in gui the old wrong doctypes! :(
