"ERROR the message could not be saved"  message appears

Can anyone explain why a "ERROR the message could not be saved" message appears when I'm writing mail? It pops up for no apparent reason?

This error message appears if you have set the text encoding (Message > Text Encoding) to one that doesn't include a "special character" that is in the message.
Example: select "Western (ISO Latin 1)" for your new message. From the Character Pallet (Edit > "Special Characters...") add (by dragging, the insert button, or whatever) the Euro symbol € to the body of your message. Either wait for Mail to attempt to auto-save your message to drafts or try to do so manually.
Because the Euro symbol has no code point in the Western (ISO Latin 1) encoding, the message can't be saved & you get the not-so-informative error message. Change the encoding to Automatic, "Western (Windows Latin 1)," or any other encoding that includes the Euro symbol & the error won't appear.

    In Project Server 2010, in Server Settings > Manage Users we can't edit any existing users - no matter if we change something or not, as soon as we hit
    the SAVE-Button, we get this error:
    The resource could not be saved due to the following reasons:

    We have two custom Security Categories and Users Group. The Resources are synced with AD Groups every midnight. There are no Resource level Custom fields.

    Hi
    Go to IISManager --> Select "SharePoint Web Access" --> Double click on Compression -->
    2] Uncheck both "Enable Dynamic content compression" and "Enable static content compression" --> click on Apply.
    3] Do the same steps for the site where PWA is present. Then try editing the user.

  • LS Getting the error "The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted" when deploying on my local desktop

    Hi:
    I have a very simple test LS App:
    1 Table "Person" with 1 property "Name"
    One totally standard Editable Grid
    So no complicated calculations that could timed out...
    When I hit F5 the screen launches and shows the data, but when I try to create a new Person it waits for about 2 minutes and then the following error appears:
    The data could not be saved because the server could not be contacted. Please check your network connection and try saving again. The Operation timed out.
    Despite the error the data gets persisted on the database.
    I am on VS 2013 Pro Update 4 and SQL Server LocalDB 2012 (v11.0).

    If you decide to try again I would:
    1) Uninstall Visual Studio
    2) Uninstall SQL Server (all versions)
    3) Re-install SQL Server
    4) Re-Install Visual Studio

  • What causes the error "The document could not be saved.  There was a problem reading this document

    (131)", when trying to save an edited PDF in Acrobat Professional X (10)?
    There are no security settings, no password, and no document restrictions in effect on the PDF.
    I am the Windows access-control-list owner of the document and also have full-control administrative permissions for it.
    Trying to save the PDF with a different name does not eliminate the error message or the overall inability to save the document.

    This isn't a security thing at all. It means that Acrobat found something in the PDF which it didn't like - something which is wrong.

    Hi Elmer,
    I researched this error message, I think you can try the methods below:
    Increase the timeout of the connection between the client and the server
    Increase  Client timeout, and it is set in the Application class in the Client Project

    Hello,
    Integrated into WD application means -> Interactive form generated in SFP transaction is used in abap webdynpro application.
    Offline scenarion -> Since it is an interactive form, user will fill the form offline and submit it by email.From the webdyn pro appliaction user will download the form to the local desktop.Fills it offline and submits the form.
    Now the interactive form generated directly from sfp tcode is working fine.I can fill the form,Sign it, save it and submit the form.

    Hi quodd,,
    We are sorry for the issue being faced by you. I need some information from you so that I take further steps:
    1. Which Adobe product are you using Acrobat or Adobe reader- what is the complete version?
    2. How are you opening and saving the PDF, the exact workflow?
         Are you doing it from within Adobe Reader/Acrobat application or opening it from browser, doing changes and saving it using browser itself.
    3. Can you try to save a PDF to library with Custom template and managed metadata columns using browser directly.
    4. Please verify that columns name do not contain spaces or some other special characters.
       Can you try to save PDF to library with Custom template and just a single managed metadata column  with a simple name

  • The document could not be saved error when Saving to a SharePoint Document Library

    I am having an error when opening and commenting on Adobe PDF's that are stored in SharePoint 2010. When I attempt to save a PDF I have commented on I get the following error:
    The Document could not be saved. The server said:
    "The operation failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Result code: 0x80020005)"
    This seems to happen in a Document Library that is based on a custom template with Managed Metadata columns, when we remove the columns it seems to work and when we create a library with a standard document library template and manually add the manage metadata columns it also works fine.
    We would make this change to all document libraries where this issue occurs however this template is applied to 100's of libraries with thousands of documents stored in them. Is there anything we can look at to attempt to resolve this issue?
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. documents seem to work fine in these libraries.

  • The resource could not be saved due to unknown error

    Hello,
    After we installed the April 2015 CU on our Project 2010 farm, we have started to get the below error when we attempt to edit a Resource.
    We did run the configuration wizard on both the app and WFE servers. Also, we are
    not using any custom master page here.
    So far below are the steps I have already tried and have not been successful.
    Uncheck the 'Enable Dynamic content compression' and unchecked the 'Enable static content compression' as described in this
    TechNet question. We did an IIS reset on all the App and WFE servers after making this change.
    Confirmed that no services have stopped and that the service accounts have correct access level.
    Everything else works in the PWA expect for this section. Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hi Experts,
       I am changing the status of a order using CRM_STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN and CRM_STATUS_CHANGE_INTERN.

        The function BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_SAVE is returning error: The document could not be saved in it_return. I am not getting any other details. What am I doing wrong? Please help!
    Thanks & Regards
    Gopal

    Hi Robert,
       The SPRO settings seems to be fine.
       The problem is that the order is not getting saved whenever there is backward status change. However if I see the item status via tcode "crmd_order" then it actually shows the new status. In other words status is changing but still order is not getting saved.
       When I debugged the code I found that first It has successfully executed the FM CRM_STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN and then when CRM_ORDER SAVE is called the parameter et_saved_objects is empty. I am passing header Guid in  it_objects_to_save. If order is saved properly then et_saved_objects should be filled with order guid.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_ORDER_SAVE'
                   EXPORTING
                     it_objects_to_save = lt_save
                   IMPORTING
                     et_saved_objects   = lt_saved_obj
                   EXCEPTIONS
                     document_not_saved = 1
                     OTHERS             = 2.
    On further debugging inside CRM_ORDER SAVE I found that the FM CRM_EVENT_PASS_INFO_EXE_OW returns lt_events empty. That means the given guid  is not registered for saving. Why is this so?
      are there objects registered for saving
        call function 'CRM_EVENT_PASS_INFO_EXE_OW'
          exporting
            iv_exetime     = gc_event_exec_time-save_order
            iv_order_guid  = ls_object_to_save
            iv_obj_kind    = gc_object_kind-orderadm_h
          importing
            et_event_calls = lt_events
          exceptions
            others         = 99.
        if lt_events is initial.
          delete ct_objects_to_save.
          continue.
        endif.
       The problem is when the order is not getting saved the status change is not getting transferred to BW or BI.
       What could be the issue?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Sidharth,
    When you create a transport request for queries in Transport connection, what is the grouping condition you have taken and also please be ensure that all the query elements have to be selected to transport that query.. Please check whether all the elements have been selected or not.. You can check this out in SE09 under your request.
