ERROR: The pthread library is unknown.

I know redhat 8.0 is not a supported platform for JRockit 8.1. Indeed, when I try
to start JRockit I get an "ERROR: The pthread library is unknown."
Setting and unsetting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL doesn't help.
Anyone know how to run JRockit 8.1 on a redhat 8.0 linux box (kernel 2.4.18, glibc
2.3.2) ?

I found a work-around:
Download glibc-2.2.5-40.i686.rpm from Redhat 7.3 updates.
The file is available at any redhat mirror:
ftp://ftp.funet.fi/pub/Linux/mirrors/redhat/redhat/linux/updates/7.3/en/os/i686/glibc-2.2.5-40.i686.rpm
Then extract the contents of the rpm (don't install it!) to a separate
directory.
directions:
cd /usr/local
mkdir glibc-2.2.5-40
cd glibc-2.2.5-40
rpm2cpio ~/glibc-2.2.5-40.i686.rpm | cpio -iumdv
Now glibc-2.2.5-40 is installed in /usr/local/glibc-2.2.5-40 directory
then before using JRockit (in a script etc.)
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/glibc-2.2.5-40/lib:\
/usr/local/glibc-2.2.5-40/lib/i686:/usr/local/glibc-2.2.5-40/usr/lib/gconv
export PATH=/usr/jrockit/7.0/1.4.0/bin:$PATH
After this jrockit should work on Redhat 8.0!

  • Help! I always get an error: "The iTunes library fil cannot be saved...."

The error is: "The iTunes library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occured (-1450)." What is wrong??? After the error no songs I add stay in the library, only files I added before the error. I tryed re-installing, but after a while I get the same error again. What is wrong? My new iPod is coming and I want to put all my CD's in iTunes but they wont stay!

O.K., OMG, found the problem, for some reason the folder in which the iTunes library file is stored is marked read-only for some reason, but when I turn read-only off, it comes on right after again, know how do I fix this?

  • I can't open itunes it's giving an error "The Itunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for file.

yes itunes will not open it gives me an error that the file itunes library.itl is locked or on a locked disk or i don't have write permission for it.

Make sure that you have closed all programs that might be using the iTunes library.itl file. I would hit CTRL + ALT + DEL buttons and enter the Task Manager - from there end any unnecessary program running in the background.
Next try to start iTunes again. If it fails, restart PC, do the same with Task Manager and try to open iTunes again.

  • Job scheduling error : The return value was unknown. The process exit code was -1073741819. The step failed.

I am working in Sqlserver 2008 R2, SSIS 64 bit version
I am getting the below  error while scheduling the job in the development server  Database.
The return value was unknown.  The process exit code was -1073741819.  The step failed.
The SSIS front end execution runs fine.
Have anyone  faced this issue before?

    Hi Venkat,
If you already changed to 64bit and still doesn't work then create proxy account..
    To create a proxy account
In Object Explorer, expand a server.
    Expand SQL Server Agent.
Right-click Proxies and select New Proxy.
On the General page of the New Proxy Account dialog, specify the proxy name, credential name, and
description for the new proxy. Note that you must create a credential first before you create a proxy if one is not already available. For more information about creating a credential, see How
to: Create a Credential (SQL Server Management Studio) or CREATE CREDENTIAL (Transact-SQL).
Check the appropriate subsystem for this proxy.
On the Principals page, add or remove logins or roles to grant or remove access to the proxy account.
    Thanks

  • I've just opened iTunes on my Mac with an error "The iTunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file.". I created a shirred library so that all users on my Mac can access the same library. Help?

I have just opened ITunes on my Mac and the following error occurred "The iTunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file.". When I setup my Mac I created a shared user area to contain my ITunes library so that I could share it with another user logged onto my Mac. However the error above gives me the impression that the library file is locked... I've checked and it does not seem to be locked under the "get info" fie information. Has anyone come across this before and found a solution?

You also need to make sure you have both read and write permission for the file, or for the whole iTunes folder for that matter.  That's also done in Get Info for the file or folder concerned.
Read the part about changing permissions on the iTunes folder in: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11583914

does anyone realize that the only troubleshooting help for this error message is for windows xp?? is apple working on one for windows vista?? i am getting the same problem and tried the two different options mentioned (deleting the itune.itl file and then restoring, as well as holding down the shift key while opening itunes) and it DOES NOT WORK STILL!! i am extremely frustrated. please help--any suggestions are welcome. i have tried reinstalling, uninstalling, restoring, deleting, you name it. the suggested help on the one link is only for windows xp.

  • Error : The type 'TPLIC_RVAL_TAB' is unknown.

    Hi all,
I added a field in z table and regenerated the maintenance object through transaction SE54. Then I run SM31 to insert some records into table. But when I run the SM31 I'm getting 'The type 'TPLIC_RVAL_TAB' is unknown. ' error.  I don't have any idea about this error.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
There is no type with the given name : 'TPLIC_RVAL_TAB' ..
I think you need to declare the below statement or is commented out

  • I keep getting an error "The iTunes library cannot be saved. The required disk cannot be found." how do I fix this?

I cannot get past this error. This is the third time I am having this issue with iTunes. I have moved my library off of the systems hard drive onto an external as advised by an Apple Store rep, and now I am back to this. What have some of you done to avoid this error?

    == Error -54 ==
From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Some of the old codes still apply to OSX although there is no formal list of OSX error codes.)
First, try simply restarting your computer.
iTunes Library cannot be saved (Error -54) - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1912814
Unknown error (-54) while syncing ipod - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1082953 - problem was locked files
Why does iTunes keep showing a -54 error when I sync my iPad? - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3727114
Error -54 possibly related to Touch Copy - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3727114 - cleared by deleting preferences on iPad.

  • Error: the itunes library file cannot be saved a folder was specified instead of a file

This started popping up after a forced quit because the program was hanging. The library seems to be writing files from CDs to my dedicated external drive and adding them to the library.  The added songs appear and play after program is shut down and reboots. Have repaired disk permissions in disk utilitity but it doesn't seem to fix the error message. Other threads discuss the problem in Windows but not Mac.  Any thoughts?

After trying a few other remedies, the tech at Apple Care suggested I reinstall Lion.
    Here's the article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mchlp1599.html
I have not had the error message since, even after importing about a dozen CDs and burning a couple playlists.
This seems to be the fix.

  • The itunes library file cannot be saved. An Unknown error occurred (-1450)

    Greetings,
    I'm getting the following error:
The itunes library file cannot be saved. An Unknown error occurred (-1450)
I have uninstalled/reinstalled Itunes twice including deleting the old databases. After importing my old songs I get the above error continuously and when I restart Itunes my songs are no longer listed in Itunes.
One thing, all the folders on my computer or now "Read-Only" I can't get rid of this. I uncheck it and aply the change but when I check the properties for the folder again Read-Only is selected again. This is a funny read-only in that the check in the box selecting read-only is ghosted but still there AND WONT GO AWAY.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

i did move the music library folder to a shared documents folder, but I'm the only one who uses that folder. and the hard drive is not full, almost, but still 10 gigs left for use. itunes was working fine, and then one time when it started up it said the there were missing files, and that itunes had to be reinstalled. I looked but could not see any missing files. nothing bad has happened.it cant be a virius, because i have not been on the internet at all in the last month. but i did use CCleaner to clean out my hard drive of unnecessary files , not the first time i have, and then itunes did not work, this has never happened after I've done this so i doubt that CC was the prolbem. I looked at all of the files it was going to delete, and none of them were related to itunes.
