I am getting this error when i try to sync my photo's from iphoto. Never had this issue but its not syncing any photo's any suggestions or cures?
Use iphone 3GS with MBP (late 2008)

Hello,
Explore iphoto library (right click, "show package contents"). There is a folder called iPod Photo Cache. You need to delete the contents of that folder dragging them to the trash. Then sync your iphone again.

  • CAN NOT SYNC PHOTOS (Error: "The Required file cannot be found")

    Hey All,
So i got a an iPod Touch today from the Apple Soho Store in NYC. Very Excited.
I am getting an error though when syncing my photos. I created an album for the iPod Touch and am only syncing that.
The error that I get is:
*"The iPod "My iPod Name" cannot be synced. The Required file cannot be found."*
    Things I've tried:
    - Not syncing the photos: Everything works fine
    - Not syncing that album, but another album: Same Error
    - Read up on the same problem on the iPhone: The only solution that I saw that didn't work on some iPhones was to clear the Keywords. I WILL NOT CLEAR MY KEYWORDS.
I am using the most update-to-date versions of iTunes, OS X, and iPhoto 08'.
    Please help!
Oh and by the way if you know how to make it Disk-Enabled. Please tell me. Apple is lame for taking that feature away from the iPod.

  • Error: "The required file cannot be found."

When attempting to sync my entire iPhoto library to my iPhone, iTunes reports the following error:
*The iPhone "<name of my phone>" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.*
...and no photos sync. I've learned that if I narrow the syncing down to certain photo albums, they sync. So I suspect there are some bad files in my library. Weird thing is, my entire iPhoto library syncs just fine to the Apple TV, but the same library errors when syncing to my wife's original iPhone.
Anyone else seen this and know of a fix? I started to cut my library into chunks, attempting to discover which chunk wouldn't sync. This not only proved time consuming, but very unreliable. One moment a chunk will sync and the next it won't. Frustrating to diagnose.
Any ideas?? Thanks for any tips. I'm using iPhoto '08 v7.1.4, iPhone 3G v2.0.2, and iTunes 7.7.1

    Hey Greg,
Try deleting the iPod photo Cache folder which is located in the iPhoto library folder.

  • The IPhone " 3 drea 3" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found

i updated the software on my iphone last night to the 2.0 and when i tried to sync my phone to put my songs back on it i got this message "The IPhone "<3 drea <3" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found" whats wrong with is and how do i fix it ??

Just another finding on my part ... I was able to sync my "last imports" from iPhoto, which were a bunch of JPG files that were scans of old family photos. As soon as I tried to sync other folders from the library, that's when I was notified with the error. Do you think this might be a complication with RAW images? I also thought about file names ... most of the photos have the sequential DSCNxxxx title.

This is getting frustrating.  Every example of my problem has the same reply:
Try deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder.  This is normally located in your pictures folder.  Once this is done, try syncing again.

I have NO photos on my Ipod Nano.  I select "Photos" and the Ipod goes to a blank screen with the msg "No Photos" at the bottom.  There must be some other file missing.  Itunes won't connect to the Ipod, I keep getting the same error over and over.  It would be nice if it told me what file is missing.

  • When Isync my iPhone with my mac desktop I get this error message, "iPhone cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found". Can anyone help?

When I connect my iPhone (ios 4.3.3) to my Desktop Mac I get an error message. "iPhone cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found." This happened while I was downloading photos from iPhoto.

Close "iPhoto" if it is open. Open the "Pictures" folder and right-click on "iPhoto Library." Select "Show Package Contents." Right-click the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, select "Move to Trash" and sync your iPhone. The error message should no longer appear.
    if that doesn't work,
uninstall itunes and download the lastest version

Try deleting your iPod's Photo cache to see if that helps. See this article to help you locate your iPod's Photo Cache.

Hi. I am having the same problem.
I have updated iPhone software and carrier settings, OSX Lion on the comp and in step 4 of 4 during photo sync about half way through, the error message comes up and now my pics are gone from the phone. I did empty the cache and the problem still persisted. I changed cables, I restored the phone and synced from the back up and even restored and created a new phone identity, still no love.
    I am puzzeled, any suggestions?

  • IPad stops syncing when 'Reconciling Photos'.  The 'required file' cannot be found

When attempting to sync my iPad, I get an error message when it's 'Reconciling Photos'.  It says "The iPad "xxx's iPad" cannot be synced.  The required file cannot be found".
It stops the sync and, since this is at the very beginning of the sync, nothing else gets synced (music, apps, etc).
    Help!

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the sync and see if the photos and other content then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • Error message: iPod cannot be updated. The required file cannot be found.

Each time I sync my 5th generation iPod to my laptop and open iTunes, I get the message "iPod cannot be updated. The required file cannot be found." My husband already updated my iPod with the most current Updater (6/28/06). Any thoughts or suggestions?

After looking further into the archives, I got an answer to my question. There is a file called "iPod Photo Cache", located in the Pictures folder, that should be moved to Trash. Once done, the error message pops up no more!

  • "The iPod **** cannot be updated. The required file cannot be found" Error

    Hello,
Upon doing a 'zero-all bits' reformatting of my 5G iPod with Disk Utility and using the 'Restore' feature in iTunes 7, every time I sync my iPod with iTunes, I get an error message after the sync in the form of
"The iPod ** cannot be updated. The required file cannot be found"
and photos, contacts, and calendars are not synchronizing. I tried a second 'Restore' attempt but to no avail. Previous to reformatting my 5G iPod, I've not seen this error message.
I would be grateful if someone could offer any clues. Many thanks.

    A little update.
Upon reinstalling iTunes 7, deleting my iTunes-related .plist files, and reparing permissions on my hard drive, I can now sync my contacts and calendars with my 5G iPod.
As for Photos, the "required file cannot be found" error seems to be due to the default setting in the 'Photos' tab, 'Sync photos from:' pull-down menu to 'iPhoto'. If I choose my 'Pictures' folder, photo synchronizing works, albeit including everything in my iPhoto library, including originals and modified versions of the photos.
I can only surmise that the default setting for synchronizing photos is somehow buggy in iTunes 7. I guess I'll just wait for an update.
