Error transport, when the DTP is implemented in Process chain

Dear all,
we are facing with a problem: when a DTP is already implemented in a process chain, the tranport of that depending transformation will get an error (return code 8) with message like this:

If we deleted the DTP in the process chain first, then reimport the transformation, the transport will be succesful. But that is not really the solution, isn't it? What is here the phenomenon? Do we need some setting else or is there any SAP notes for this?

sorry that I may not be clear in my explaination. The Scenario is below:
- we create a transformation in C
- transport it to Q and create there DTP and process chain. It works well for a long time.
- then change something in transformation in C due to an enhancement
- try to transport transformation to Q, but it failed. Transformation inactive. DTP inactive.
- try again by deletion DTP in PC (in Q)
- reimport transformation again --> that works. Transformation transported and active in Q. But DTP lost and we have to re-create it in PC.
Question: is there any method to avoid the step of DTP-deletion ? Thank you!

Dear all,
We are using BI7.00. For one of our reports, the data is transferred from one cube to another cube. When the DTP which transfers the data is activated, the following error appears.

Message no. RSAODS000
Error when activating Data Transfer Process DTP_D5Q7YV8OBC64VH1DG6MY6O0UI
There is no other information regarding this message. I have tried deleting the DTP and re-creating a new one but still problem persists.
Can experts throw light on this?

While i install oracle 10g on Windows XP SP2, i got the error "Thrown when the IP address of a host cannot be determined". I am not connected to any network and my host file contains the loopback IP address (127.0.0.1). I don't know why did i get this error. If somebody knows then, please help me as quickly as possible.

I can't say I've ever tried to install Oracle on an non-networked PC :(
My first guess would be to add an entry on the hosts file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) for the local PC so you have something like:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 machinenameWhere "machinename" is your machine name :)
This might resolve the issue.

SSRS in SharePoint2013: There is a report in SharePoint and it contains a sub-report and the sub-report hyperlink. When I click the hyperlink to go to the sub-report, after >10min, I click the "Back to.." button

I get the same error (although in Dutch ;-)).
It also says something like (I'm translating): "Make sure your network settings are correct and your networkconnection is active or try again later." Is there a way to find out these "correct networksettings"?
I now get it for a week, eacht time I connect my iPhone to itunes...

Usually occurs on devices that have either been jailbroken or attempts have been made to downgrade the iOS. You can try putting it in DFU mode to restore but you may not be able to fix it. If you phone has been jailbroken we can't support you in these forums as it is against the terms of use.

Hi Madhu,
The Time settings for any PC is done in the start variant of the PC. There is nothing like default time setting. These settings are totally depended on the requirement and system performance. It is a general rule of thumb to load the data during a time when the user activity is minimum as the loading process is going to occupy many dialog as well as background WPs. So, if you schedule them at a time when there are many users on the system, they might feel that the system is slow. Hence, you decide as to what is the best time for scheduling a PC. The same applies to meta chain also. In case of meta chains, you make sure the dependencies of the local chains is also handled. Hope this helps.

Assume a scenario where you need to update from DSO to Multiple targets.
If you want to run the DTP one after another use AND
otherwise drag and drop the DTP and link it...

Assign a server group as the background server for a process chain

Dear Experts,
Can I assign a server group as the background server for a process chain?
Even I assign a server group as the background server for a process chain by following T-cd: RSPC > W click a process chain > (Menu) Process Chain > Attributes > Background server and save & activate the process chain, no entry was saved in the column in RSPCCHAINATTR-SERVER with OBJVERS = "A".
Moreover, it seems that there is no process type for a process chain as a whole in T-cd: RSBATCH, so I assume that I may not be able to assign a server group to a process chain as a whole...
I know I can assign a server group as the background server for each process in a process chain.

On many UNIX systems there's a utility called detach which will launch the following command in such a manner that killing the shell will not kill the process. On systems that lack this command, I'd find an open source implementation and install it.

DP process implemented as process chain or jobs

What is the scheduling option that you have selected in the start variant of your process chain? If the chain has been successfully scheduled then you can see that in t-code SM37 under your id, the job for process chain should show as scheduled. If you cannot see anything there then please maintain the start variant properly and rechedule the process chain.

Some times the logs not display in process chains

Some times the logs not display in process chains then how could we find them??

If you are in Tcode RSPC and opened your process chain you are able to click on the Logs icon. It will prompt you for a date selection.
If this still doesn't work you might have forgotton to activate and schedule your process chain. Before you activate check that your start variant is set to Direct scheduling by double clicking on the start variant.

JSF error handling when the bean is not correctly loaded

I am doing some error handling in JSF and I want to do it in an elegant way. I have the following scenario for error handling.
When the bean is initialized I load the bean with values from DAO which give SQL Exceptions.
Since the bean is not loaded I properly I have to send the user to an error page showing the error message why I am sending the user to this page.
I can do it by [ FacesContext.getCurrentInstance.redirect("/error.jsf") ] doing so I will loose all the FacesMessages that are added by the exceptions.
Instead I want to use the [ FacesContext.getCurrentInstance.dispatch("url") ] which will allow the transfer of the user but I get the following

Just let it throw the exception and define an error-page entry in the web.xml which catches the specified exception (or a superclass of it or a HTTP status code) and displays the error.jsf page accordingly.

Short Dump Error while executing the DTP

I am facing an issue with DTP.
Data has been loaded to PSA successfully but while executing the DTP for loading from PSA to DSO (WO) throwing a short dump RAISE_EXCEPTION.
