Error Trying To Open RAW

I don't know why, but when I installed Photoshop Elements 9 on my new computer, I keep getting an error message when trying to open RAW images, which I have never had an issue with on my previous computer. Can anyone help me with this issue?

What's the error message?
Have you changed cameras? Check Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras to see what version of Camera RAW your camera requires. PSE9 can support camera RAW up to version 6.5.

Error trying to open source media - Compressor 1.2.1

I have a problem with a movie that have been sent to me. I seem unable to add it to a batch in Compressor or in Final Cut Pro 4.5 HD for the that matter.I'm using QuickTime 7.0.3 adn Mac OS X 10.4.3
When ever I had it to Compressor I get this error:
"Alert: Error trying to open source media file"

And when I import it into Final Cut I get this error:
"File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."

The settings for the offending movie are:
Format: H.264, 640x480, Millions, AAC, Stereo (L R), 22.050kHz
FPS: 29.97
Data Rate: 90 kbytes/sec
Key Frame: Every 300 Frames
The only difference between my test, which works fine, and this file is the frame rate (mine is at 25fps) and the number of audio channels (my test was in mono).
The file I was sent was encoded in Compressor, not sure which one - but I think it might be version 2.
The strange thing is it opens in QuickTime fine. I've tried exporting from QuickTime Pro as another h.264 with mono sound with no joy. I've tried saving a reference of the movie to see if that works, again no joy.
The only way I can get Compressor to accept the file is by transcoding it to another codec, like Soreson 3. Then FCP and Compressor are happy.
What I can't work out is why the h.264 file I made is fine (and any file I still make as well), and the one I was sent is not. I'm also having the same problem with an h.264 file I downloaded from Apple QuickTime Trailers, and an another I found on the web.
Updates that have been done recently incase they might have caused the problem are 10.4.3 and installing Motion 2 Trail (since removed), which wanted to update Pro Application Support (this might be the problem?).
Any help greatly apprieated

I just tried the offending movie file on my Powerbook, it has never seen Motion 2 or those Pro Application Support updates - and it gets the same error.
Very odd indeed - any ideas?

Error trying to open the book.

When I go to open a new book with Blurb application in InDesign I get a message that says: Error trying to open the book. What can I do about it?

It's the InDesign CC. I have a MacBook Pro. When I try to open a new book on the application Blurb I get a message saying the InDesign can't open it.

THis is what I get when trying to open files. Half my session opened fine then all of a sudden i get this error. Won't open in LR5 Either. HELP! using LR5 AND CS5 ON A IMAC with a canon 5dm3. everyhting is up to date as i I checked..

I will try that now. It reads that it is up to date but I will reinstall. The session after it loaded just fine on the same card

I recently had to reinstall CS5.1 on my mac (OSX 10.9.5) after formatting the hard drive and for some reason I'm no longer able to open RAW-files, neither in photoshop nor bridge. I have tried to remove and reinstall CS5, update my mac and camera raw, but nothing seams to help. I read somewhere else on the forum that it could help to delete the Camera Raw folder in the library, but that didn't help either. Any tips to what might be wrong?

I've never known any Adobe download of a whole application to install a newer version than the original. You must have updated it yourself somehow, or you did not use the Adobe-provided Uninstaller to uninstall it in the first place. Never just "delete" an application; always use the Uninstaller.
By "deleting the ACR plug-in" do you mean the Camera Raw folder in the library? In that case, it was recreated when I deleted and reinstalled the software again, so it should not be any problem. "Deleting" as opposed to uninstalling was my first worry; but no, I wasn't referencing any Folder, but the plug-in itself.
Note that in the correct path to the Camera Raw plug-in there is no such thing as a "Camera Raw folder". There is a Camera Raw folder in a different path inside the root-level Library, but that one has absolutely nothing to do with the ACR plug-in nor with anything else we have been discussing here. That latter "Camera Raw Folder" does not contain the plug-in; it contains only Adobe Patch Files, CameraProfiles and LensProfiles folders. Don't mess with that one.

i think you've diagnosed the problem correctly. it sounds like something nasty has happened to your QuickTime.
let's try this technique first.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

I got this error when I was trying to open a remote panel from a machine running windows 2000 to a machine with netscape 7.1 browser under linux redhat 7.3
I have made a link in /usr/local/netscape/plugins LV7NPlugin.so -> /usr/local/lib/LabVIEW-7.0/LV7NPlugin.so
I have also copied the file in /usr/local/netscape/plugins but it doesn't work.

The crash happens when LabVIEW can't open the catch-all font of "fixed" as a fallback when a particular font is not available on the system. The "fixed" font is ALWAYS supposed to be available on the system. The "fixed" font is provided by a font alias in the file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/fonts.alias. The alias should be defined in the first few lines of this text file. On a SuSE system where the crash is occurring, do an 'xlsfonts | grep fixed' . In a correct configuration, you should see a font called simply "fixed" in the output, but if not, this will cause the LV crash. So it looks like something got damaged in that one particular
project. It claims to compile without error, but perhaps it is
compiling a truncated version. What kind of file size does the .chm
have? Is it normal or is it smaller? When you open it do you get
the Nav pane? Can you click on any topic in the TOC and get it to
open?
I ask this because I have seen the compiler stop without
warning if there is an error in the syntax of the .hhp file. This
sometimes results in a short file, missing a lot of topics, but
otherwise "correct" in the eyes of the compiler.

I am trying to open a project that was created on the same system I am trying to acces it . But, I keep on getting an error:
This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut.
The thing is that I started this project on the same computer I'm trying to access it from. I tried copying the project file and opening the file on another system and it worked.

Error trying to open up methodaction binding on a page

I am trying to open a method action binding on a page that we have created and when i try to open any methodaction it does not open ...
int he messages tab i see the following error java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find data control ABC1234AMDataControl.
i am guessing this is an old data control that is still hanging out there somewhere but it is not listed in the data controls and I cannot find where this might be refrenced ( is it an old AM maybe)
i am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4

I had to go into the pagedef and delete XML that was referring to the datasource that was no longer valid. I am guessing this was beacuse of something that was refactored at some point.

Installer receives error trying to open

I downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 yesterday and tried to install on a Mac Pro 3,1 with Mavericks installed. The installer errors trying to initialize and offers a message to seek help. I will definitely need help. The download completed normally using Akamai.

Trying to Open Raw file in Photoshop Elements 4

Does anybody have any ideas how I can open a RAW file from a cannon G10 camera in Photoshop elements 4.0? The file is coming out of the camera as *.CR2. I am working on a MAC with OS 10.5.7.
When I try to open a CR2 file in PE 4.0 it says it can not complete my request because photoshop elements does not recognize this file type.
I have also tried to run the file through the dng converter version 5.3 and when I try to open it with PE 4.0 it gives the same message above.
Any ideas of how to get this open and take advantage of the RAW format would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

There is no PSE 7 for mac. However, you may be able to find a version of the Adobe raw converter that will work in PSE 4 that will open your G10 files. I would start with the latest version (5.3) and keep working backwards till you find the latest version that will work in PSE 4. Camera raw updates for PSE mac are here:

although the recent updates are listed for PSE 6 only, it's often possible with PSE to use updates that are supposedly too recent for your version of PSE, especially with PSE/Mac.
