Error trying to update apps on Ipod touch.

I have internet access and can even open itunes store and make purchases.  But my ipod touch indicates there are updates for my apps.  When I try to update the apps I receive an error message "cannot connect to itunes store".  I went back to itunes and purchased a song to make sure it was working properly.
What do I need to do to fix this?  Everything else including movies on internet work fine.

Help me, I'm trying to update my apps on my ipod touch directly from the ipod as I always do. .When I click the update button it says "cannot connect to itunes store". So I plugged it into my computer and I notice there isn't a library of apps for me to click on and see if there are any updates. What do I do?

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4.  I can broswe and buy apps on the iPhone, yet I get "Cannot connect to iTunes store" on the update page.  What is also strange is that I can't update on my PC either.  Same deal...I can buy apps but the update button doesn't do anything (not even an error message).  This happens at home and at work on WiFi and also on 3G on my phone.

Went to update apps on ipod touch IOS 4.2.1.  I did a factory reset and now I can't get most of my apps back & can't download version 5.0 which I need to get back some of my apps. I paid for some of these. I've tried my backup and it didn't put them back on.

If your iPod Touch is too old for iOS 5 or later... there is not much you can do.
When/if you get a later model iDevice you will be able to Download Past Purchases using the Original ID that made those Purchases. (providing they are still supported by the Developer)

  • I was trying to update my newphews iPod touch but for 20 hours now it is still just showing the apple logo

I was trying to update my nephews iPod touch but for some 20 hours now all I am seeing is the apple logo.

    Terminate the update.
    Reboot the computer
    Restore via Itunes.
    If necssary:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Can't Install or update apps on iPod Touch 5g

Hi, i am having a very serious problem with my iPod. it is an iPod Touch 5th Generation, 32GB, blue. It is currently running iOS 8.2. The problem is, I can't install or update any apps. It just sits on the home screen grayed out and saying "Waiting...". It won't do anything else. I have already tried hard restarting it, along with signing out and back into the App Store. I have also tried deleting the apps and reinstalling, but it does the same thing.

It looks like I have 4 Ipod Touch updates - but when I try to update i recieve a message that that the app updates are not available ?? - I how got this message every time I have tried to update the last week !!

Most likely, the downloads did not occur. Go to iTunes > Store menu > Check for Available Downloads (may also be "Check for Purchases").

  • Won't sign with apple id to updates apps via ipod touch 4th gen

When click on update tab in app store it says

    Cancel.   Sign in
Then comes up with sign in place. After entering password, it returns to same message.
This is a brand new ipod. It is Replacement of one with broken screen. But the serial # is the same.
Uploaded info from previous ipod to this one using same itunes id and password on comp.
    Any suggestions?

I doubt the SN is the same since they are unique to the hardware but that should not have any effect.
Have you tried going to Settings>Store and sign out of the exisiting accont and then sign back in.
Also try resetting the iPod, noting will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

When I go to update my apps on my ipod touch my old user name that I had comes up and it won't let me put in my new user name and password. I have tried restarting my ipod and it doesn't work, I tried hooking it up to my computer and syncing my ipod and that didn't work. I just don't know what else I could do.

  • Trying to update itunes for ipod touch.  Error message: error writing to file c:\Program /files (x86)\ itunes\itunes.resources\cs.lproj\djintro\objects.xib

After 4 hours I am getting ready to throw my Acer out the window.  I have tried everything I can possible think of.  Initially couldn't sync ,y ipod but after following advice managed this.  Removed all itunes components on system but the above message continues to pop up on installling.  Any advice would be very much appreciated.
    TIA

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I am getting unknown error -20 when trying to update or backup ipod touch

    please help

I am too. I've tried a complete reinstall of the iPod software following a fresh install of iTunes on my computer.
As soon as I synced my programs after the complete iPod restore (and nothing else), I started getting this message again.
Not sure what else to try.
