Error Un wanted work flow event triggering

Hi Folks,
I am facing a high priority issue in work flow in PRD, User has created certain PR's for which system has raised required events to tirgger the workflow items and the whole approval job is completely done. Accidentally, the same work flow events are re-triggerd to raise the work item the very next day, when it is observerd for the trace no clues where thrown to explain the situation to client.
Can any one suggest me with this type of rescheduling / retriggering of events, why they have retriggerd ?. The situation created problem by getting the work item's triggered un-wantingly.
Please Help me ASAP I am left with no clue from Last 2 days.

Hi Krishna,
may i know which BO and which event you are using? are you using the event RELEASESTEPCREATED? in the log did you check the workflow is triggered by which user?
In case to avoid this, you can use start conditions in your workflow. This will avoid unwanted triggering of the workflow.

Hi Kumar,
If you know the business object being used and object instance the use transaction SWI6. You enter the business object and the instance (e.g. Leave Request number) and select all instances. This will give you a list of all workflows associated with this particualr object instance.
As the other guys mentioned SWIA. SWI1 or SWI2_FREQ with as many selection criteria as possible in order to narrow down the selection. e.g. date and time, workflow, task etc.

Error while executing work flow

Hi all,
I have created a workflow with user decision and send mail steps. But when I execute the workflow it is generating an error saying - " Task started under workitem ID 71036(current status: Error) ".
When I see the workflow log--> list of technical details --> step history, the following errors I got

But when I create the same workflow in another client and excute, it is working fine.
Can anybody look into this.

Thanks alot, problem solved to some extent. I need some other clarifications.
1. whether SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles are mandatory for the user WF-BATCH or only SAP_ALL can solve our issue?
2.
Unless your workflows are not going to use Webflow functions, configuring "Maintain Web Server" is not required
as you said, what are webflow functions?
Please provide me information on these as Iam new to Workflows.

Which table stores the created work-flow event?

Hello,
When am executing FM of 'SWE_EVENT_CREATE' in my custom program, its executing with SY-SUBRC = 0, but, am not getting any email to my SAP inbox!
1) pls. let me know the reason?
2) Atleast how to know that (where to see, any table) an EVENT is created each successful execution (SY-SUBRC = 1) of this FM/my custom prog?

1 Switch on the event trace using the transaction SWELS.
2 Now execute your program developed . Now switch-off the event trace using the same transaction SWELS.
3 Now go to transaction SWEL. Here you can list out the events triggered in the particular period of time. Here is the event-trace list:

Work Flow EVENT - SM58 Entries are not executing automatically

Hi Experts,
I have used the standard BOR2034 for creating PO after saving the contract.
I have developed an RFC enabled FM refering to the Standard FM SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT.
Inside the custom FM I am calling the BAPI_PO_CREATE1 for creating PO.
After creating a contract using VA41 I am able to see in Event trace that my Event with corresponding custom FM is triggering.
and the two entries are created in SM58 - Transactional RFC one is my Custom FM name and another is SWF_EVT_HANDLER_START_INTERNAL.
When I execute the LUW by selecting execution, PO is getting created. Where as this entries are not picking automatically.
I want to know, whether I have missed any step in process or do we need to schedule any job for automatically clearing the SM58 queue entries.
Please help me in resolving the issue.

As you say that you see the below entries in TRFC monitor, you need have a commit work after the below FMs are called(just one will do),
the two entries are created in SM58 - Transactional RFC one is my Custom FM name and another is SWF_EVT_HANDLER_START_INTERNAL.
How and from where are the above FMs called?

I would like to create a custom event in object type BUS2038 to send notification if extra information is required on the Order.
can you please take me through the procedure of creating an event and linking it to an object type and field on the transaction screen.

Hi,
First create a subtype ZBUS2038 for the business object BUS2038 by copying it from SWO1 Tcode.
then define acustom event for this custom object. save and activate.
If you want a custom method for this create a method also.
release the Method, event and then the Object.
Create a Task in PFTC and add this ZBUS2038 object and the relavent method
then define the triggering event which you have created and define the binding and event linkage and build the workflow builder and use it.

Work flow - Event problem

Hi,
When I am executing Workflow-program, by calling function module <b>'SWE_EVENT_CREATE' and this function module returining EVENT ID always "00000000000000000002"</b> (always same).
And also I am not able to see SAP mail in SO01.
I think Workflow is not triggering properly.
Any suggessions / ideas / help will be appreciated and rewarded.

Error in main Work flow

Hi Team,
After making the changes for copied workflow from the old WF iam struck up with one error saying 'container element WFTASKID'
is not used.I could not find any element named WFTASKID in main and sub WFlows
The sub WF is activated and problem comes in the main WF where iam getting one error.I doubt this message is linked to that one error.After copying the main WF and sub WF i did not make any changes except changed the user decision in sub WF,the transactions remains the same.Do you have any idea about this.
Also i have different versions of main WF like 0001 to 0005,Is there anything to do with the Versions.
I could not find where exactly the error is.

Iam working with Expense Approval(HR-Module) for TRIP transaction and BO used is BUS2089.
There exist a binding for container elment Trip(main WF) and ZZ_Approve_ER(sub WF) for both of these the BO is BUS2089
but YWORKINGWI is used for Dialog step with the BO 'WORKINGI'.
YWORKINGWI is present in the sub WF.

Work flow to be triggered from portal but not from PA30 Transaction

Hi,
We have copied a standard workflow to enhance it and attached standart event to that workflow in SWETYPV t-code.
Now the work flow is triggered from both PA30 and portal whenever changes are made.But we want it to be triggered from portal alone.
Can anyone suggest how can i restrict work flow start event to be triggered from portal alone.

My suggestion is instead of starting the workflow by using EVENT it is better to start by using SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW
As you are saying that you need to trigger the workflow only from the protal. Now in the portal you might be using a WebdDynpro Application or a BSP application, so in that application after filling all the details you might be having a button like Save or Submit or Create so under this final button you call the FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW in the action handler.
And more over even by using this FM you can even pass the values from WD Application to workflow by using the tables Parameter Simple_container.
And one more thing is if you start a workflow by using a event then when ever the event is occured then the workflow gets triggered.
or make use of Start Condition in the basic data of the workflow.

In the workflow forum: SAP Business Workflow
you can find the workflow FAQ and also the place to search for solving your problem.
Analyzing workflow errors, mostly start by viewing the workflow log SWI1, or SWI2_FREQ, or SWI2_DIAG.
If the error ies at the event side, you should use transaction SWEQADM, to view the events for errors.

Work flow container Business OBject resetting ?

Hi Folks,
Work flow is triggered with the business object BUS2054001, In initial checking stage value are appearing for the instance of variables and after one step work flow container custom variables are set through the custom task. The problem is the new values are set and all the old values are getting cleared. Cross checked twice that no old values are passed back.
Refered to note : 847122 / Workflow container loses values. All the changes are already updated by sap since the sytem we are working on is SAP ECC 6.0 with BASIS 700 // level17 .
Any solution or similar error faced kindly reply ASAP.

Work flow mails are not coming to inbox but coming to out box in quality

Hello,
We are working on the implementation of Work flow for Purchase orders.
Work flow customization is completed and even work flow is triggering when ever I create Purchase Order.
Even Agent assignment also completed for work flow tasks via T code PTFC_CHG.
This work flow is working fine in development.
When I moved this workflow to quality I got a problem.
Problem here is Work flow mails are not processing out of SAP Outbox to approvers inbox even also after executing the program RSWUWFML2.
When I triggered the PO in development the work item is moved to SAP out box as well as inbox. In quality It is not coming to SAP inbox.
If I check in SOST,I will not see any of the entries related to work flow mails.
Only above I can see in my SAP Outbox.
So how can I Process these messages to approvers SAP Inbox.
Any body please help me where the problem is

I may be wrong, but on reading ur thread, I feel u r mis interpreting SAP Outbox with Outlook.
Is it so, because u have mentioned about RSWUWFML2 and SOST, which comes into picture only if u r using an external mail like Outlook.
If its Outlook, then there is no doubt that ur work item would get deleted from SAP Inbox and would be present only in Outlook.
If its SAP Outbox, then u r not supposed to get ur work item in ur Outbox unless it is processed or executed thru ur SAP Inbox.

Work flow issue in Guided Procedures

Hi,
I have one issue in work flow implemented in Guide procedures with Webdynpro java.
I have webdynpro application which developed and deployed in NW 7.0 SP3 version. The particular application request has suppose to be get approved by 5 users but after approving the 2 users, with out getting approved by other 3 remaining users it got approved the request completely. i need to trouble shoot this work flow issue. Can any body tell me how to troubleshoot this issue. why work flow not triggered for the last three users.
Please let me know what are the steps for trouble shooting or monitoring the GP issues.

Hi Vijay,
There are a few roles for GP Administration. Once you assign these roles to your users, you can test , edit and trouble shoot Guided Porcedures, from Guided Porcedure Runtime Tab.
First ask the portal admin to assign these roles to you and then you can check what is wrong with the corresponding GP.
