  • "iTunes was unable to verify your device" error

    Hi,
I have a first generation iPad that has been working just fine. I decided to give it away, and so I wiped it and set about restoring it to factory defaults.... except, now I keep getting the error "iTunes was unable to verify your device. Please disconnect and reconnect your device. If the error persists, see your local Apple store for assistance." Well, the error is persisting despite disconnecting, reconnecting, attempting to restore several times, attempting to use DFU mode, no matter what I do, I get this error. I did see in a different forum, someone said this suggests the iPad was jailbroken or hacked in some way. So, just for clarity here - this iPad was never running anything except standard iOS. Anyone have any ideas?

Apple's activation servers are down at the moment.  Try again in a few hours (or even tomorrow).

  • ITunes was unable to verify your device. Please disconnect and reconnect your device. If the error persists, please visit your nearest Apple Store for assistance. To find your nearest Apple Store,

    Dear Suport,
when I upgraded to IOS 6,1,3 it gives me an error message "your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temp....." Try Again
    Regard
    Iyus

Just for what it is worth - I am currently getting the same error "iTunes was unable to verify your device" when trying to restore my first-generation iPad. I restored it several times, even trying DFU mode - and each time, ultimately, I get the same message as the original poster in this thread. I have had this iPad since it was originally released, and have never run anything on it but standard iOS, I would not know how to begin jailbreaking or hacking an iPad anyway. It was working just fine yesterday. Then I decided to upgrade and to give this iPad to a friend, so I wanted to wipe it and restore. I wiped it, and now this. Very frustrating.

  • "iTunes was unable to verify your device" after succesfully completing recovery mode on iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 which has never caused me any problems, until i updated to iOS7 it started lagging and battery didn't even last until midday (having it charged 100% in the morning!).
In just a few days it turned off automatically and wouldn't turn on. I googled and solved it by pushing the two buttons together for about 10 seconds. iPhone revived, and all the data was intact though many people states it would've been erased.
The morning after, using my iPhone more carefully not to have it crash again, it crashed. 10 seconds wouldn't do and I gave up, until the day after I found by surprise that the battery had run out and it finally showed some sign of not being completely dead!
I connected the cable to iTunes and pushed the Home button before connecting the iPhone and it entered Recovery mode. Recovery mode was completed and the iPhone had to restart to complete the process. While completing I get the error message "iTunes was unable to verify your device, please disconnect and reconnect your device". And from here I don't get anywhere, so I will probably visit Apple Store and ask what can be done, but if anyone has had the same problem please share any possible solution to this problem!

I had to contact Apple Store and make an appointment. They tried the last step suggested (which I had already tried three times) and stated that the memory had failed. They said it probably failed due to having some small issue already on the phone and then updating to a new iOS.
They could only offer me an exact copy of my iPhone but new for 149€.

  • Opatch error: Unable to lock Central Inventory

    A) When applying Oracle one-off patches I get this error:
Unable to lock Central Inventory.  Stop trying per user-request?
OPatchSession cannot load inventory for the given Oracle Home /oracle/VRQ/102_64. Possible causes are:
No read or write permission to ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage
Central Inventory is locked by another OUI instance
No read permission to Central Inventory
The lock file exists in ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage
The Oracle Home does not exist in Central Inventory
    B) Researching the error, I find thes solutions...
This error may occur because of any one or more of the following reasons:
    1. The ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage may not have read/write permissions. Ensure that you give read/write permissions to this folder and apply the patch again.
    2. There may be another Oracle Universal Installer instance running. Stop it and try applying the patch again.
    3. The Central Inventory may not have read permission. Ensure that you give read permission to the Central Inventory and apply the patch again.
    4. The ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage directory might be locked. If this directory is locked, you will find a file named patch_locked inside this directory. This may be due to a previously failed installation of a patch. To remove the lock, restore the Oracle home and remove the patch_locked file from the ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage directory. For more information on restoring the Oracle home, refer to section "Restoring Oracle Homes".
    5. The Oracle home may not be present in the Central Inventory. This may be due to a corrupted or lost inventory or the inventory may not be registered in the Central Inventory. For more information, refer to section "Diagnosing and Recovering from Central Inventory Corruption".
    C) Everyhing looks okay. What am I missing?
    Oracle - 10.2.0.4
    OS - AIX 6.1
Multiple database on the server: IPQ and VRQ
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
did you setup a seperate oraInventory for each of both instances as recommended?
    Check the contents of oraInst.loc
(On Solaris in /var/opt/oracle, not sure if the same on AIX)
It should point to the Inventory Location.
May be yours is pointing to the other ORACLE_HOME-Inventory.
I tend to use the Inventory location
/oracle/SID/oraInventory, so each ORACLE_HOME has its
    own non-mixed inventory.
But you have to keep in mind that oraInst.loc needs to be adjusted,
when you use runInstaller or OPatch !
Or is one ORACLE_HOME a binary copy of another?
A bianary copied ORACLE_HOME is non patchable at all, as far as I know.
In this case (beside this is not a supported SAP configuration), you need to
apply the patches to your copy-Source and do a re-copy.
There is a meatlink note describing how to use a cloned ORACLE_HOME,
but again: This is not supported within SAP!
    Hope this helps

  • Error - Unable to lock the record.

Error - Unable to lock the record. Cause: The record is being modified by another user.
    Hi all,
I encountered the error above after deleting a record from a table then clicking the next button(train). Please help.
    Thanks.
    Maeve

the two most probable possible reasons for this error:
1)When your program tried to delete the partiular record, somebody from back-end has deleted the record.
2)Your program is not commiting after doing the transaction.
    Also,Check out this thread :
Re: save button - Unable to perform transaction on the record. stale data,

  • [SOLVED] - Arch Boot Error: Unable to find Root Device /dev/sdb1

I had Arch running perfectly using /dev/sdb1 (versus Disk Label or UUID) and decided to do a update.  After the Update I can't boot
to a running system, and I get this error message:
ERROR: Unable to find root device /dev/sdb1
You are being dropped into a recovery shell.
Is there an easy way to convert to UUID or Disk Label since the latest Upgrade doesn't allow me to continue to use /dev/sdb1 ??
I'd prefer not to have to rebuild both USB Flash Drives to get functional systems.
    Any Help is greatly appreciated.
    Suggestions?

  • [SOLVED] ERROR: Unable to find root device '/dev/sda3'

Earlier I updated the kernel to my arch system and found this error while trying to boot. I hate to post this because there are so many topics like it, but I've been looking for hours for a solution to this problem and can't find one.
    Here is the output:
    Booting 'Arch Linux'
    root (hd0,1)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
    kernet /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/sda3 ro
    [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x4200, size=0x2ff2d0]
    initrd /initrd @ 0xfd17000, 0x2c878c bytes]
Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok
    Decompressing Linux... Parsing ELF... done.
    Booting the kernel.
    :: Starting udevd...
    done.
    Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/sda3 ...
ERROR: device '/dev/sda3' not found. skipping fsck.
ERROR: Unable to find root device '/dev/sda3'.
You are being dropped to a recovery shell
type 'exit' to try and continue booting
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
My partition layout is like this:
    swap: /dev/sda1
    boot: /dev/sda2
    root: /dev/sda3
    extended: /dev/sda4
    home: /dev/sda5
I have two hard drives, but i'm sure /dev/sda is the one with my OS.
Here are some things I've tried:
This was at the very bottom of the pacman wiki
    # mkdir /mnt/arch
    # mount /dev/sdaX /mnt/arch (your root partition)
    # cd /mnt/arch
    # mount -t proc proc proc/
    # mount -t sysfs sys sys/
    # mount -o bind /dev dev/
    # mount /dev/sdaX boot/ (your /boot partition) #This step is not needed if you do not have a separate boot partition
    # chroot .
    # pacman -Syu udev mkinitcpio
    # mkinitcpio -p linux
I've also tried performing the above, downgrading the kernel, updating my mirrorlist, reinstalling the kernel, and rebooting as mentioned here.
I've alsa tried a few other things that I've read, but can no longer remember.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    Thank colton
Same problem here, but on a mac book (not mine eyh )
So, for those how have the problem (or need a live usb for mac or uefi systems),
    1) with a 32bits system
    - download gparted live cd
    - use it for the step 3
    2) with a 64bits system:
    - you need the gparted live cd too: mount it and copy the EFI directory somewhere; then umount it;
    - download a 64bits system (system rescue cd, as colton said is enough, follow the instructions for installation on their website first);
    - mount you live usb, install the 64bits system;
    - copy EFI system on the key
    - edit the grub.cfg in EFI/boot/ , add the following before the other entries:
    menuentry "System Rescue" {
    set gfxpayload=keep
    linux /syslinux/altker64 nomodeset efi
    initrd /syslinux/initram.igz
    3) repairing...
    - boot the broken computer with the live usb
    - mount the partition on which your system is (e.g. /dev/sda1 on /mnt)
    - chroot it, init the system as needed (mount /dev, /proc, etc. the easier way is using init scripts)
    % chroot /mnt /bin/bash
    % /etc/rc.sysinit
    % mkinitcpio -p linux

  • What does the error "Unable to lock the following files:" mean?

What does the error "Unable to lock the following files:" mean? After the colon in this error message, a path to the .icml file is listed. We are using InDesign CS6 with InCopy CS6 (Mac), assignment-based workflow, on a shared server.
    Thanks,
    Gita M

Sounds like a permissions issue on that server.

  • "Unable to provision your device' error when tryin...

Can someone please help!  I 'upgraded' to v40 firmware for my Nokia 5800 and lost my contacts.  I am trying to sync it with Ovi.com but when I try to SMS the settings the site (not the phone) gives and error 'unable to provision device'. I can't even find a way to enter sync settings manually.  Please help!

Same problem here, except that I don't know if it was working before because it's the first time I try the service.
I DO get the SMS from OVI on my phone, but when I open it, it asks for a "Configuration settings PIN" which I don't have.
Immediately after I receive the SMS I get on the webpage the same error you guys are receiving.
    Don't know what's wrong.
    Any clues anybody?
    Cheers,
    Luis

  • PDA error: Unable to lock memory chunk

When I try an run a PDA build on my pocket PC I get the following error:
"App failed. Error code 130437003. Unable to lock memory chunk."
anyone have an idea of what this error refers to?

    Hello Jim77215,
This kind of error has previously been reported when using a CF6004 and DAQmx Base.  If you are not using any of these products you may want to post more information about the PDA Operating System, Large Fonts Enabled, Localization (Non-English), Version of LV PDA, and model.
If you are using DAQmx Base with the CF6004 try this work around.
    1) Force a recompile of your VI by holding the shift key and clicking the run arrow, and then try running it on the PDA.
If this does not work and you are not using LV PDA 8.0.1 and DAQmx Base 2.0
    1) Close LabVIEW
    2) Go into the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW x.x\vi.lib directory and rename "_DAQmxBase" to "DAQmxBase" (remove the underscore at the beginning).
    3) Open a blank VI and copy all the DAQmx Base API VIs in your VI (Start, Stop, read, write, and is task done) to the block diagram. Either drag and drop them or use "Select a VI..." from the palette.
    4) Switch execution target to the PDA.
    5) Save the VIs and close LabVIEW
    6) Rename the "DAQmxBase" directory back to "_DAQmxBase"
    7) Run your program
