Error: Unable to Sync Files

My LR Catalog is about 1.45GB.  I thought I would try backing it up to the Creative Cloud Files - but after an hour of uploading, just as it was finishing - it reported this message.  "Unable to syc files".  Sorry, no other error message or status code other than that.
The catalog is called  "LR Master Catalog-5M.lrcat"  and it's located within the user folder on my system drive
MAC OS X 10.8.4
My upload speed is about 400kb/sec - so that works out to about 3600 seconds - and that's about when the error occurred.
LR not running at the time.
I dragged the lrcat file from where it lives to the Creative Cloud Files folder and the upload seemed to start while the copy was taking place.  The copy takes about 16 seconds on my system.
Any thoughts ?
BTW - this seems to be in the downloading, installing and setting 'forum'.  perhaps a moderator could move it to where it needs to go.
jc

Hi jimcamel,
With Creative Cloud desktop application, you can upload files up to 5 GB. If you attempt to upload anything larger, you can see some unexpected errors.
With the Creative Cloud website, you can upload files up to 1 GB. If you attempt to upload anything larger, you can see some unexpected upload failures.

  • Getting error message 'unable to sync files'

I have viewed possilbe reasons for this error but none of the information tells me what to do about it. All there is is the constant pestering of a window that comes onto the screen from the right hand side saying 'unable to sync files' For instance one of the instructions says "Try turning "Turn synch off" on and off." This would be fine but it does not even tell me how to do that. Another 'helpl' says Unable to authenticate, please sign in to edit your account" which would be fine but also it does not even give a hint about how to sign in or edit my account. I know nothing about 'Cloud' but that I have to have it to continue working with Newer versions of Adobe Software.
This is awful. I know if I erase my hard drive and do a low-level format that that would take care of the problem, but short of doing that...
How should I go about fixing this problem  specifically?
    TIA,
    Ken

That is not only good information to know, but having this problem also alerted me to the fact that I know too little about Creative Cloud, now, by calling Adobe help by phone, I found out that there is an icon at the top of the screen on my browser that looks mostly like a black blob (Adobe should re-design that to look like a white cloud please) that is for Creative Cloud and by clicking on that icon I got the pull-down that had the option to turn Creative Cloud 'on' then 'off' which may come in handy for future problems that are not caused by the site being down.
    Thank You,
    Ken

  • Been unable to sync files (use) creatice cloud connect for three (3) days

So what gives. Everything work find on Saturday 11 May 2013 but now I have been unable to sync files with Creative Cloud

Creative Cloud file sync services are currently unavailable. We're working to restore service as soon as possible. To disable error alerts you can Turn Sync Off or Quit Creative Cloud Connection.
You can check the current status of Creative Cloud at http://status.creativecloud.com.
Agreed that the status page could be more clear.
The Adobe Creative Cloud has may pieces:
Subscription to plans from https://creative.adobe.com/plans is working normally.
Installing desktop applications from https://creative.adobe.com/apps and the Adobe Application Manager are working normally.
Other services you can access from the Creative Cloud such as Story and Typekit are working normally.
Viewing training and learning videos from the Learn link is working normally.
Uploading, downloading and working with your files from the web service at https://creative.adobe.com/files is working normally.

  • URGENT - Error "Unable to open file because it isn't a valid Keynote document" - and there is no index file (so the usually suggested solution doesn't work)

    Hi there,
As you see in the heading, I am getting the error "Unable to open file because it isn't a valid Keynote document". There has been a number of threads on this and there seems to be a usual work around that works in many cases, by changing the file extension to .zip and then looking for the index file and making some more extension changes...unfortunately, in my case (and it also happened to others), there is no index file, so the usually suggested solution doesn't work...Can someone please help? I am working on a tight deadline and would like to try and recover the file.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Best,
    Just a regular apple user
PS: any other presentation opens fine in Keynote (09)

Have you tried to create a new Keynote Presentation? Do you have another previously saved Keynote file you can try to open? These will make sure it is a problem with this specific presentation and not the whole program.
Try to delete the Keynote Preferences. They are located in the folder Macintosh HD>Users>your username>Library>Preferences and titled com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist.
Your profile shows that you are still on Mc OS 10.6.6, is that true? You might try to update to 10.6.7 as I believe that there was a font issue fixed in this update (I don't know for sure since I am still on 10.5.8).
Try those and report back and we will see what we can come up with.

  • UCCX 8.0 CAD: Can you disable auto update? Error: "unable to download file" Could not open request.

    I have a UCCX 8.0 (2) Installed.
Users here have limited access via proxy. Now everytime i try to run the CAD or CSD, i get the error:
"unable to download file" Could not open request.
It seems to want to install or check for an update.
The work around i have found is to go to the CAD directory and change the update.exe filename
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\CAD\bin\update.exe
i dont want to have to do this for every user as i possibly want the update.
Is there a way to allow or bypass proxy on CAD?
    Regards
    J

I had this problem before - to resolve it I disabled the proxy in internet explorer settings.
You'll need to make sure the CAD version matches your UCCX server version. Otherwise you may run in to issues.

#"zoneds" does not exist, so I am guessing that is the problem. I'm wondering if it is safe for me to delete them.
    Mark

Hmmm... I haven't run into this with ZFS.
    For UFS, this should work:
    luumount -f sol10_1008_SAPC20090813
Alternative to that, you could do a force delete of the BE (ludelete -f sol10_1008_SAPC20090813) and remove the ZFS entries manually.
I have also resorted to hand-editing the zone configuration files, but that's not exactly a recommended practice ;-)

  • E63 Adobe LE error 'unable to open file"

    Hi!
I've bought an E63 six months ago and recently I've purchased a memory card.
After a few days I wasn't anymore able to open any pdf, either from the phone's memory, or the memory card.
I receive this error: "unable to open file!"
If I try to open the Adobe PDF executable file nothing happens.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Ensure that file name with same name and in same path should not be open while saving the data.
    Award if it helps.

  • Unable to Sync Files, with Adobe Cloud??

  • Error 'Unable to open file' when downloading SAP Query to Excel

    Hi all
I'm running a SAP Query which is set to download straight to a spreadsheet (Pivot Table / Microsoft Excel).  Intermittently it does not work -  apparently at random (at least, I've can't recreate the error at will).
It does one of the following:
    - Works ok, and creates the pivot table
    - Gives an Excel error message 'Unable to open file', then returns to the 'save the data in a spreadsheet' popup when enter is pressed on the error.
    - Does not issue error message, just goes to the 'save the data in a spreadsheet' popup.
In the last two cases, the excel pivot table sheet is not created.
Has anyone seen anything similar, or have any idea as to what is causing the problem?
    Any help gratefully received!
Not urgent as I've found a way round -  further testing seems to show that I don't get the error is Excel is already open - but in the past I've run many SAP query downloads without needing to open Excel first.  I suppose it's possible that this is just something to do with the Excel setup at the user site

  • Frequent "unable to sync files" message

I use Creative Cloud to store all my project files.  While working, I frequently get the popup message "Unable to sync ...." whatever project file I'm currently working on.  This happens about 20 times per day, so it's a little annoying.  Eventually it always gets synced, just a little late I guess.  It's not a one-time maintenance thing, as this has been happening every day for the past couple of weeks.

I have emailed you about resolving this issue.

  • Keep seeing "Unable to sync files" on Creative Cloud

I've been trying for the past two days to upload footage to an editor on my "Team" so they can download it and start working.  But nothing I do seems to work.  I've read the post and papers Adobe has mentioned on the subject but I can't seem to find a way to make this work.
To start, the folder I want to send is 50gb.   That didn't work even when zipped.  So, I separated the big folder into smaller ones and zipped those.  Nothing.  Still says unable to sync.
The only way that seems to work is to upload a normal not zippd folder and have all the individual files sync themselves.  But, then it's going to be torture trying to share each individal file.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks

  • PLEASE HELP! Unable to render any Quicktime format - after effects error unable to open file (-1610153459)

I just can't render any type of Quicktime file in AE CC 2014. I'm on Windows 8.1.
Even in CS6 was it not possible, but I never really used any Quicktime filetypes.
Normally I just rendered to .h264, but now that's only available via the insane slow Adobe Media Encoder, I want to use the Quicktime -> h.264 option, but it's just not possible.
I also want to render some footage to the Avid DNxHD codec, but this is also not possible.
Doesn't matter what type of footage, dslr footage, pictures, AE solids. Everytime I want to render in a Quicktime file I get this error:
AE error: Rendering error while writing to file (File-Location). Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
Installed the latest Windows version of Quicktime, didn't help...
I saw some topics about this, but they didn't provide a good solution. All they discussed was the hardware of the computer. I have enough space available and render to a NTFS drive.
Please can someone help me with this!

Yes! I just solved my own problem. I still think that the internet doesn't provide an easy to find answer, so I will post this.
I had the latest version of Quicktime, but this version causes the problem. After some searching I finally found a page on the Apple website that confirms this.
Updating to QuickTime 7.4 may cause issues while rendering footage in Adobe After Effects - Apple Support
So I uninstalled my latest version of Quicktime and installed version 7.4.1. Everything works now the way it's supposed to!
