Error: undefined ; OFFENDING COMMAND: file

Bonjour,

    Offending Command:       LLAQLY+TimesNewRomanPSMT
    Operand Stack:               false
    This output was give after printing the first page of any document from one particular pc as from others it prints normally. Are there any settings that i need to make in order to have it print in a normal way?
    Otherwise I have to print one page at a time.
    Your help would be greatly appreciated....
    Thanks and Regards...

    Hi Guys,
    thanks for all if you tried to help me out... The problem was just a tick box relating to PostScript.
    I had to go to the printer setting and disable passthrough of postscript.
    Mainly this was already answered in this adobe reader thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/391758 with the printing problems. Just to add somethin more it is a problem that is faced when installing adobe 9.
    Thanks...

  • Printer prints ERROR: syntaxerror OFFENDING COMMAND: true cvt fpgm x -glyf

    A colleague has mentioned to me that he has seen an apparently intermittent problem when printing from 10.6.6 (but thinks he saw it some time before that) in which a PostScript error page is printed instead of his document. Mac OS X is up to date. The printed page shows:
    ERROR: syntaxerror
    OFFENDING COMMAND: true cvt fpgm x -glyf , ,head
    STACK:
    -mark-
    /sfnts
    The keywords suggest to me that this is a TrueType typeface problem.
    Frustratingly, he says he can't remember what application he was printing from, but I suspect that it was Microsoft Word 2008, as that is what he uses for document preparation.
    I found another forum topic posting describing this problem - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9264701 - which is now closed and allegedly answered; the final advice was to run FontBook to verify the typefaces. I did this on the system in question, and only a few 'minor' errors were reported. Whether this somehow magically fixed the problem, I don't know.
    The user updated Microsoft Office to the 2011 version at my suggestion, this being the only thing I can think might fix the problem. Since the problem was always intermittent, we're waiting to see if the problem reoccurs.
    Does anyone know for sure what the cause and fix for the problem are?

    Trouble printint to a Dell Laser MFP 1815dn.
    Check if the Dell driver is PPC. If it is, and if you installed the first version of Apple's latest Security Update, then that's probably where the issue is, because it broke Rosetta, the software which runs PPC code under SL. Re-install the Sec Update (the problem is fixed in v1.1, which replaced the goofy version on Apple's servers) through Software Update or by downloading it again, then re-install the Dell driver, and try again.
    Apple stuff is great, except for their casual disregard of their customers who want to use any product that is not Apple
    I'm sorry, but that's non-sense. I'm no fan of Apple, but they're no better and no worse than any large corporation of this type. Mostly, they do things which make business sense as they see it -- which is exactly what you'd want, if you had serious money invested in Apple shares -- wouldn't you?
    In this instance, it was up to Dell to release an Intel Mac driver for this printer/scanner, which is, what, 5 or 6 years old? If they didn't, it was probably because they decided it didn't make business sense for them to spend money on developing and testing one. Keep in mind that Dell and Apple and Microsoft and all the rest are in business to make money, not to support every single customer for ever and ever and a day.

  • Printing a Word 2013 file to a PDF, which prints the PDF, but when printing the gereated PDF to a laser printer an error occurs: Error: invalidfont Offending Command: show Stack: (  )

    I was wondering if any else has had an problem with error codes printing PDF that has been generated from Word 2013 to Acrobat Xi Pro. I have converted fonts from local install to common fonts - Arial, and the same error occurs.
    Help!

    Thank you Bill,
    you maybe right, there seems to be a localised issue as the PDF that has been created from Word 2013 can be printed, on the same printer I am using, by other members on the server with different versions of PDF.
    Still stuck though.

  • PDF Printing Error: "invalidfont", "Offending Command: xshow"

    i saw similar discussions that were not exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to post my own:
    I have a critically important document that I've created that is refusing to print correctly due to the errors in my thread title here. After a lot of trial and error (different machines, different OS's, etc.) we've determined that it is a problem with the font inclusion, however, the "offending" font(s) - it's an OpenType Google Font Family - is one that I've used in dozens of other PDF's, in all sorts of combinations and variants, and have never had an issue before this document. This is coming at a critically inconvenient time, given the nature of the project and given that the aforementioned font (Roboto), is part of our brand identity.
    I have made a PDF with the type converted to outlines, but that balloons the file size up to around 11MB (from 278KB). I dont mind the conversion, but if there were a way to do this and reduce the size to something more manageable, I'd be thrilled (ideally <5 MB).
    The document is ALL (relatively simple) vector imagery and fonts, and I've not yet experimented with the resolution slider in the text outlining portion of the PDF dialogue (have no idea how relevant this would be in a vector document, given that it's not RASTERIZING the outlined type).
    Any help would be so tremendously appreciated.
    Thank you!!!

    Thanks for the information. It actually does help narrow what the problem might be.
    Further question. What happens if you try to print from Adobe Acrobat to this printer? Same problem?
    Observation! The printer in question, the Konica Minolta Bizhub C364e, doesn't use Adobe PostScript, but rather, an Konica Minolta knockoff. Many of the printing issues that we have seen in the past associated with fonts are caused by these so-called “emulations” of Adobe PostScript. (And by the way, you should never outline or rasterize type to compensate for a bad RIP!) It would be helpful if you could try printing this same PDF file via either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to a real PostScript printer, such as a Xerox Phaser, ColorQube, or WorkCentre printers or similar printers from Ricoh or Canon (make sure they are recent models with Adobe PostScript 3 as opposed to emulation of Adobe PostScript. (Or you could bring the PDF file to FedEx Office and have them try to print it - they have printers with Adobe PostScript 3 provided by EFI Fiery RIPs!)
    Another point. When saving PDF from Illustrator, make sure you use the PDF/X-4 output options. This preserves live transparency and color management.
    Let us know if printing via Adobe Reader or Acrobat and/or printing to Adobe PostScript devices solves this issue.
    If it doesn't, we definitely would like to see a sample of this problem here at Adobe. Possibly you could pare down the file to something that you could release to us (under NDA of course).

  • HP 1320 Print Error: Undefined

    I am having a problem printing from both InDesign 5.04 (CS3) and Acrobat 8.1.7.
    Acrobat files produce a blank page with a postscript error message:
    ERROR: undefined
    OFFENDING COMMAND:  (various things show up here)
    STACK:
    The same file will print fine from Preview.
    InDesign files will print, but then a page prints at the end of the job with the above error message on it.
    I've tried searching the HP site and these forums but can't seem to find anything similar.
    I'm printing to a 1320tn from a MacPro Quad-Core Intel with 10GB memory, running OS X 10.6.4, and I have installed the latest HP Printer Software update 2.4.1.

    @johnny8086 You may want to move your post to the  Printer, All-in-One Install and setup or Printer, All-in-One Software and drivers forums you should be able to find better results there for the issue you are having.

    What does work is the following:
    Set your printer to NOT use Appletalk (through your browser).
    Delete your printer and install it again. If you don't see it in the list select IP printer and use the printer's IP address
    Make sure you use a HP driver and not the Generic driver. I used a Gutenprint driver with success on a LaserJet 1200 with a JetDirect network adapter.

    Thanks all, It was an oversight. A very silly mistake and I took a lot of your time, sorry about that.
    I had the folder structure set as "hide known file types". And I named the file with an extension import.txt assuming the file's name is import and the extension is .txt. That was the error and that is why epma-batch-client could not locate the file called import.txt in the E: drive while the file name was actually import.txt.txt.
    I fixed that and now it runs fine as expected.

    The -compat=4 (and the default -compat=5) compilation modes are not related to the compiler version. All compiler versions from 5.0 (1998) through 5.10 (2009) have these options. The C++ Migration Guide
    [http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-5266]
    explains the differences in detail between -compat=4 and -compat=5, with examples of how to make old code compatible with standard C++.
    There is no compiler version 7. Perhaps you are thinking of the Sun Studio release. There is a Sun Studio 7 (containing C++ 5.4), but it is End Of Life, no longer available for purchase, and is not supported on Solaris 10. The recent releases are these:
    Sun Studio 11, C++ 5.8, supports Solaris 8, 9, 10
    Sun Studio 12, C++ 5.9, supports Solaris 9, 10, Open Solaris, Linux
    Sun Studio 12 update 1, C++ 5.10, supports Solaris 10, Open Solaris, Linux
    (Sun Studio 12 update 1 should be released next week. Watch this forum for an announcement.)
    Please run the command
    CC -V
    to find out your compiler version.
    When compiling on Solaris, 32-bit compilation is the default. You don't get 64-bit compilation unless you ask for it, via the -xarch option on older compilers, or the -m64 option on current compilers.

    Hi,
    I'm experiencing the same problem, thank you for your 32 bit tip.
    I installed InstantClient for 64bit and didn't find any of the sql??? functions.
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/instantclient/112010/oracle-instantclient11.2-precomp-11.2.0.1.0-1.x86_64.zip
    After that I installed the 64 bit client with universal installer, sql*plus, programmer and OCI packets, got lots of errors, cause I have not the official distribution and scripts are partly wrong.
    T24-SMS-1:/usr/lib# uname --all
    Linux T24-SMS-1 2.6.26-2-amd64 #1 SMP Wed May 12 18:03:14 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    Then again I searched for sql??? functions sqlcxt I took and found them: (Note: they were not present with the instantclient distri with proc libraries
    T24-SMS-1:/usr/lib# find /home/sms/instantclient_11_2/lib -type f -exec grep -H -i sqlcxt {} \; | grep Binary
    Binary file /home/sms/instantclient_11_2/lib/libsql11.a matches
    Binary file /home/sms/instantclient_11_2/lib/liborasdk.so.11.1 matches
    Binary file /home/sms/instantclient_11_2/lib/libsrvmhas11.so matches
    Binary file /home/sms/instantclient_11_2/lib/libclntsh.so.11.1 matches
    Binary file /home/sms/instantclient_11_2/lib/libsqlplus.a matches
    After that I again got the same errors. I will try the 32 bit distribution and I hope I will find some header file with sql??? functions in it.

  • Qt g++ "fatal error: QtGui : No such file or directory"

    I'm trying to program GUIs with Qt for the first time.  I'm still extremely new (started reading about it last night) to C++, although I've been programming in C for a while.  From the arch package repo, I've downloaded qt, qt-private-headers, and qt-doc.  I haven't changed any directories or permissions around.  Inside the directory /usr/share/doc/qt/examples/widgets/calculator I try to compile the example program with
    g++ main.cpp -o main
    and I get the error:
    main.cpp:41:24: fatal error: QApplication: No such file or directory
    compilation terminated.
    When I add the option
    g++ main.cpp -o main -I/usr/include/QtGui
    , I get a 'permission denied', and when I execute the entire command with sudo, I get a trillion errors, all remarkably the same:
    /tmp/ccyHSlXv.o: In function `main':
    main.cpp:(.text+0x28): undefined reference to `QApplication::QApplication(int&, char**, int)'
    main.cpp:(.text+0x3c): undefined reference to `Calculator::Calculator(QWidget*)'
    main.cpp:(.text+0x4d): undefined reference to `QApplication::exec()'

    main.cpp:(.text._ZN10CalculatorD2Ev[_ZN10CalculatorD5Ev]+0x75): undefined reference to `QDialog::~QDialog()'
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    I have absolutely no clue what's wrong.  If anyone has had a similar problem getting Qt to work in Arch, please shout out.

    I think you need to link it against the qt library? http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11092451
    I doubt it's Arch-related.
    I would suggest copying the example calculator files to another directory. This is what I've done:

    It generates a Makefile

  • Linker error «error: undefined reference to '__ZN7problemC1Ev'»

    Here's some code I have been trying to compile all day and having gotten a cryptic linker error that I can't figure out.
    First here is my Makefile:
    T09: check
      @echo "-------- problem --------"
      "$(FLASCC)/usr/bin/g++" $(BASE_CFLAGS) main.cpp -swf-size=960x540 -emit-swf -o problem.swf -lAS3++ -lFlash++
    include ../Makefile.common
    clean:
      rm -f *.swf
    main.cpp
    #include "AS3/AS3.h"
    #include "problem.h"
    int main()
              problem *prob;
        prob = new problem;
              printf("main\n");
        AS3_GoAsync();
    problem.h
    #ifndef _STATE_GAME_H_
    #define _STATE_GAME_H_
    #include "AS3/AS3++.h" // using AS3 var wrapper class
    #include "Flash++.h" // using AVM2 sync primitives
    // use "ui" AS3 var wrappers which marshall var manipulations to the ui Worker
    using namespace AS3::ui;
    class state_Game;
    class state_Menu;
    class problem {
              public:
                        problem();
                        void changeState(int k, state_Game *sg);
                        var update(state_Game *sg);
    #endif
    problem.cpp
    #include "problem.h"
    #ifndef _STATE_GAME_H_
    #define _STATE_GAME_H_
    #include "object_Background.h"
    void problem::changeState(int k, state_Game *sg)
              if (sg->getCurrrentState() >= 0)
                        sg->clearState();
                        sg->setCurrrentState(-1);
              state_Menu *psm;
              psm = new state_Menu;
    var problem::update(state_Game *sg)
              sg->update();
    problem::problem()
              state_Game *gameState;
              gameState = new state_Game;
              object_Background *background;
              background = new object_Background;
              changeState(0, gameState); //set to MENU_STATE at first
    #endif
    state_Menu.h
    #ifndef _STATE_GAME_H_
    #define _STATE_GAME_H_
    #include "state_Game.h"
    class state_Menu : public state_Game
              public:
                        state_Menu()
    #endif
    state_Game.h
    class state_Game {
              private:
                        int current_state;
              public:
                        state_Game()
                                            current_state = -1;
                        void makeState()
                        void clearState()
                        void update()
                        int getCurrrentState()
                                            return current_state;
                        void setCurrrentState(int k)
                                            current_state = k;
    When I compile this I get the following linker error:
    /var/folders/fs/ldvqpfrd2ng11w5d26f6qq540000gn/T//ccVLfrEH.o: error: undefined reference to '__ZN7problemC1Ev'
    This is a compiler generated file, '__ZN7problemC1Ev'.  I don't know why this is occurring since their are no errors in the compile phase and I do not have a class of this name.
    Can someone help me understand what is going on here?

    EDIT: Haha, so by the time I wrote this post, 3 people have already responded. Some of the stuff I cover has already been said.
    So I took a more in depth look at your code and I noticed a couple things. Granted, it's hard to debug code when I only have a small chunk but here's what I noticed:
    (Super small bug) You need to #include <stdio.h> in your main.cpp for the printf.
    There is a #ifndef _STATE_GAME_H_ in almost every file. During the pre-processing, it will pick up the fact that in subsequent files that you have this in, it will not include them. So, if you want to have each file included make a new pre-processor directive for each file.
    problem.h      => #ifndef _PROBLEM_H_
    state_Game.h => #ifndef _STATE_GAME_H_
    state_Menu.h => #ifndef _STATE_MENU_H_
    Also, as a side note for #2, don't put those #ifndefs in the .cpp files. They only need to be in the .h, but #include the .h in the .cpp.
    You don't seem to put parens after any of your constructors. You may want to explicitly specify to the compiler to use the nullary constructors.
              ex:
    === main.cpp ===
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include "problem.h"
    int main()
          problem *prob = new problem();                // <- this might be the problem
          printf("main\n");
          AS3_GoAsync();
    === problem.cpp ===
    #include "problem.h"
    #include "state_Menu.h"
    #include "state_Game.h"
    #include "object_Background.h"
    problem::problem()
              state_Game *gameState = new state_Game();
              object_Background *background = new object_Background();
              changeState(0, gameState); //set to MENU_STATE at first
    Finally, I've come to notice that putting .h files in the Makefile's build command does nothing. It will only respond to adding .cpp files. So for your state_Menu.h and state_Game.h files - as long as the pre-processing directives are setup correctly - they will be automagically included because there is no corresponding .cpp file. As long as problem.cpp and main.cpp are the only 2 .cpp files in your project, this commend will work.
    "$(FLASCC)/usr/bin/g++" $(BASE_CFLAGS) problem.cpp main.cpp -swf-size=960x540 -emit-swf -o problem.swf -lAS3++ -lFlash++
