Error upgrading idriver.exe

Hi, On Jan 11, 2006 I downloaded & installed the latest version. On install I got the following error:
"Install Driver Module"
app. name idriver.exe
mod ver 5.122602726
mod name ole32.2ll
How can this be fixed? What does this affect?
Does iTunes have a repair procedure? Is there a repair from add/remove programs?
Also at this time I do not have an Ipod - so in services I've stopped & disabled IPOD. via right click my computer>management>services.
Also previous upgrade had similar error.
Also Can/should iTunes be installed from safe mode or safe mode with network (allows internet?
Thanks
rico

R_,
Thank you for your kind advice, however, I've also been to the iPod support pages (and have done everything that is recommended, all to no avail) and I beg to differ with you.
iTunes _does not_ install properly----before I even get a chance to connect the iPod, I get the iTunes install error----it won't install the iTuneshelper.exe file.
I have done everything that is listed on both the iTunes support site, and the iPod support site, and I completely, and multiple times, purged my system of all Apple related software, and reinstalled iTunes, and no matter what I do, I get the error message that iTuneshelper.exe did not install, and when I connect the iPod, I get the error message that I need to re-install iTunes.
If I install the Ipod updater before iTunes, I have no problems, until I try to install iTunes, and then the same errror message (iTuneshelper.exe) comes up [it comes up as iTuneshelper.ex.exe failed to install].
I'm wondering if anyone has successfully installed the Nano with iTunes v6 on a Windows2000 machine?
Two kids each with a new iPod Nano, are not happy this Xmas!

  • ITunes 6.0 - IDriver.exe - Application Error

I installed iTunes 6.0 on 3 Windows XP SP 2 computers today. All upgrading from iTunes 5.0
On 2 of the computers I got error messages pasted below during the QuickTime part of the installation. I dismissed the errors and the installation "completed successfully".
I've used iTunes 6.0 and opened Quicktime and everything seems fine so far. So I'm not asking for help with a problem, just noting this issue in case anyone else has observed it.
I am aware that IDriver.exe is part of the InstallShield routine. A quick check and I couldn't find anything about this error.

  • Error message "clc.exe has stopped working".

When I start Photoshop I get an error message "clc.exe has stopped working".  I have the latest version drivers for my Acer X23H and HP 2311 LCD monitors so upgrading them is not possible.  Is there any other fix I can try?

I've just downloaded and installed the very latest drivers from AMD and installed them.  Still, I get the "clc.exe has stopped working" errors when I launch PS.  I do not get this, or any other errors, when opening or running any other programs, and have never once gotten a blue screen or had any failures in this system for the two or three years it's been running.
While it's remotely possible that there is some error in AMD's latest (and previous) drivers for this video card, what seems to fit the symptoms I have, is that there is some problem in Adobe's code.
Previous versions of Photoshop open and run fine on this system.  Other CAD and graphics programs run fine, too, with no crashes, lockups, or failures.
Still, if there's something else that needs to be updated for my video system, to make the Adobe errors go away, I'm open to do whatever updates are necessary.  I'm running an AMD Radeon HD 5700 series display adapter, driver date 11/20/2014, version 14.501.1003.0.  Device manager says the device is working properly (for whatever that's worth).
The computer is running Win 7 64 bit ultimate.  Processor is AMD Phenom II X6 1090T six-core processor.  All has been running flawlessly for several years, and continues to do so with every application except Adobe Photoshop 14.501.1003.0.

Please help me because I really need to use the program

I have just recently upgraded my computer to windows xp and downloaded all of the applicable java software and get the same error message that you do. I tried your suggestion, but to no avail. Have you heard of any other potential causes for this error. I thought maybe it was a firewall issue, but I contacted the manufacturer of the program and there should not be an compatability problems. I can 't seem to find any info regarding that error message. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • I am trying to install current Firefox 3.6, as I am currently running an older Firefox on my Windows ME, but I keep getting this error message: "Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE Setup will now close."--Please help?

I have downloaded all IP changer Privacy software I have purchased and am trying to install it, and although it is made to work with WindowsME that I am currently using on my computer, it now says it requires Firefox 3 or above to be able to install the software. Therefore, I am trying to update my Firefox to current 3.6 but once Firefox 3.6 downloads it doesn't install. Instead I just keep getting the same error message: Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE. Set up will now close. Several times, I have also tried restarting the computer as the error message also recommended But I just still keep getting the same error message when I try to update/install Firefox 3.5. Please help/advise on how I can fix this problem. Many thanks in advance!

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:
    [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/win32/en-US/]
You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. Apple has posted a way to fix and you should follow their's first. I finally got to upldate correctly by doing their fix but with one difference. I did the following:
    1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replace)
    2) Restarted computer and still got error message
    3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
    4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not specifically put in their fix but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
    5) Restarted computer.
    6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. Even updated my ipad to make sure everything was working.

At my PC startup, I get an error message "AppleSyncNotifier.exe--Entry Point Not Found"  My iPhone now doesn't show up as a Device in either iTunes or My Computer on my PC. I've uninstalled/ reinstalled iTunes & run diagnostics-no luck. Ideas?

I think my problem is fixed now.
For the fun of it, I reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1 today (using the exact same installer as I did yesterday), but this time I didn't uninstall iTunes first. As expected, iTunes recognized my iPhone (as I expected it to, until my next reboot).
A few minutes later, Software Update showed up and among the updates is "iPhone SDK Compatibility Update". The description indicates that installing this should fix an issue where iPhones and iPod touches aren't recognized by iTunes. Isn't that interesting?
I installed that update and most of the others waiting for me (including Java, Safari 5.0.1, and a few others - not 10.6.4 though, due to the issues with nVidia graphics cards). After the reboot, I started iTunes, and it saw my iPhone!
So, if you're having this same problem, I'd recommend tracking down this update and see if that does the trick for you. Hopefully it will.
