well.. if you *had read carefully*, I said *I couldn't even start* Soundtrack.. so *how could I start* e new project if I couldn't even start the application?
that's the problem. as soon as i click to open, it gives me that silly crash window every **** time.. and every time I submit it to Apple..

Error with automator & soundtrack pro

I'm trying to make a workflow that will take a finder selection of apple loops (including a folder) and open them with soundtrack pro and save as... AIFF files. I'm getting an error on the last step no matter what I do. I originally thought the aiff file options had to match the .caf attributes (i.e. same sample rate, bit depth, etc.) but fixing that doesn't seem to help.
Here's the error log:

So here's what's weird: I keep getting this “Get Selected Finder Items” was not supplied with the required data," but the results shows the file I have selected in the file, and subsequent steps in the workflow show the selected file being passed correctly… so I'm not really sure what the problem is. I've written other workflows with the GSFI object and haven't seen this error before, so if anyone has an idea, I'd love to hear it.

One other note - just to double-check, I deleted the "open w/ soundtrack, save as" actions and replaced them with "copy file, rename file" and the workflow completes without a problem– BUT I'm still getting the "“Get Selected Finder Items” was not supplied with the required data" error, so I'm still not sure what's going on there.

When I try to send a clip from FCP to Soundtrack Pro to clean up the audio I keep
getting this complicated error message that is way over my head.
This has happened over two different projects. So, it is not the project file that is corrupted.

I've been searching for day s with no resolve on this so I did the only thing left to do... Clean everything out.It's the first time in 3 years, but I backed everything up and did a clean install of OSX. All is good.

"Capture 3D plug-in damaged" error upon start of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Possible Fix

After installing Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0.332, I received a "capture 3d plug-in damaged" error every time the program started. Looking for remnants of SolidWorks in the registry found nothing.
Here's what fixed the problem for me:
I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. The following two entries in the registry were incorrect, with the default correct values shown:

In the case of the first registry key, Kaspersky had previously entered several DLL's, separated by commas. When the Acrobat installer modified this key, it did not put a comma in front of "acaptuser32.dll", in effect making this dll invisible to Acrobat.
In the case of the second registry key, dword was found "1", I changed to "2".
It turns out that no repair of Acrobat was necessary, after all; just knowing where to look in the registry. No more error message on startup and the Capture3D tool works OK.
I hope this helps others.

I have Windows 7.1 and Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 9.4.3. I started receiving the error message, but once I corrected the registry keys it started working. I had previously used the Acrobat 9 Pro Extended repair option three times with no success.
The correct entry for me was:

According to the error message “please wait while we load sign in”, I find a similar issue. The user solved it by deleting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office. You can attempt this method to check if it works.

Error upon starting an Essbase Application

Good day Guys,
I'm having problems on starting an Essbase application. When I try to start the application, I get this error message:
*Cannot load application [App Name] with error number [1052003] - see server log file.*+
I tried the solutions in the Error Message Reference but to no avail. I increased the NETDELAY and NETRETRYCOUNT, I restarted Essbase server.
Anyone please help.

I have one reverse approach for your problem, open EAS console copy the application databases to some other application folder in EAS. Once you are done with this delete the database of the application, please be sure you are deleting the database which is having the issue now start the application. Now log on to he Planning and deploy the application from Planning to Essbase by manage database in Administration module.
Once this is done come back to the EAS console here you will see a new database is created in the application folder, now you can compare the older database with the new database which is newly created. This will help you in determining what may be the issue.

Authentication errors upon starting WLS 8.1 Admin server...

Please excuse my ignorance as I am far from a WL Admin. I have been working on a problem that has been preventing my admin server from starting for the past couple of days now and haven't a clue as to what could be causing it. The admin server fails to start and when I check the error logs this is all that I see: 
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication for user system denied 
Frustrating because it does not say what the problem is and when I spoke with the actual WL admin that set it up he did not seem to know either. He doesn't have a lot of time to spend looking into the problem right now because he is in the middle of another project and this is not a production issue because it is on a development server but it's where I have to do my testing so I have to get it back up. I did not configure it but do have complete access to whatever files I need to change I just don't know what I am supposed to do. He tells me that I need to do some research on the problem so here I am. If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to even begin fixing the problem it would be much appreciated. Thanks,

It does tell you why the server won't start:
"Authentication for user system denied"
Thus, your boot identity (which is "system") can't be authenticated for some reason. It could be a bad password, improper configuration such that it can't find that user, or a missing user account.
The other post talks about these things.
An easy test for eliminating improper configuration is to copy config.xml to a safe place and then copy (or simply rename) config.xml.booted to config.xml. Then try to start the server.
If it still won't start you have one of the other two problems. Likewise, if it does start, you have a configuration problem.

Error upon starting up

I was having difficulty with Firefox, so I closed it. I re-opened it, but it went to the software update. Frustrated, and anxious to get back to my work, I canceled the update with windows task manager. Now whenever I click on firefox, it doesn't load, and automatically gives me an firefox.exe error, saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close. Vanilla internet explorer also refuses to load, though it gives me no error message.

Error upon starting iMove 7.0

I just got a new MacPro and loaded iLife 08 onto it. I bought the family pack. All my iLife apps work fine except iMovie. When I try to launch it from the dock it says "You cannot use this version of the application iMovie with this version of Mac OS X". I had just loaded 10.5.3 a few days earlier. So I dowloaded the iMovie 7.1.2 from the Apple site thinking that if I could update iMovie it would work.
It didn't work. So I reinstalled iLife 08 and it is still coming up with the same error. This computer is clean and I only have a few normal apps on it like Adobe CS suite, Bibble, and a game.
What can I do? I don't think that buying another license is going to solve the problem.

When I try to install the package is says that an eligible version of iMovie is not found in my Applications folder, which is odd because iMovie is in my apps folder. I have tried installing iMovie automatically from the software update panel in system prefs. and I got a different error when I tried to download iMovie, it says that "the update iMovie update can't be installed because the digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by 'Apple'".
I have tried uninstalling iLife 08 and reinstalling it and I keep getting the same errors. All my other iLife apps work great.

Großer Schreck: auf einmal verweigert Soundtrack Pro den Start. Es lädt sich zwar das Programm, aber es gibt keine Arbeitsoberfläche mehr. Wenn man über die Menüleiste ein neues Projekt öffnen möchte erscheint folgende Fehlerbox:

Auch der Klick auf OK (nach dem Motto, zur Kenntnis genommen..) öffnet keine Arbeitsoberfläche. Neuinstallation brachte nur dasselbe Ergebnis.
Hinweis: auf der Workstation befindet sich auch Final Cut Pro X. Diese Woche wurde auf 10.04 upgedatet. Ob es daran liegt...?
Hoffentlich hat jemand eine Idee... Über Soundtrack Pro wird eine wöchentliche Radiosendung geschnitten und produziert... Wir sind total aufgeschmissen, wenn wir das Programm nicht mehr ans Laufen bekommen..

You see error message above? That's all, what I see, when I want to start Soundtrack Pro 3 since today... You won't get any workspace, but just the error message. Even re-installation does not solve the problem. On the Mac Pro, there is also an installation of Final Cut Pro X, which was updated this week to version 10.04. Might this be the source for all problems...? Anybody any idea? Hopefully, because we really need Soundtrack Pro for an project. Thanks!!

Unable to launch Soundtrack Pro 2.0.1 (Fresh Install)

I've just installed Logic Studio on a clean installation of Leopard (10.5.1) on my dual 2ghz G5. For some reason Soundtrack Pro 2.0.1 immediately quits upon launch with the error *"The application Soundtrack Pro quit unexpectedly."*
I've attempted to reinstall only Soundtrack Pro 2 from the Logic Studio disc, but this does not resolve the issue.
Prior to installing Logic Studio, I had installed Final Cut Studio 1 (which included Soundtrack Pro version 1), so I don't know if this prior installation in some way conflicted with it.

I've figured it out!
I'm posting the solution here in hopes that it will help out anyone else who may be running into this issue.
For some reason the Logic Studio installer was not installing the ProAppsMetaDataSupport framework needed by Soundtrack Pro 2. This may have to do with my previous existing installation of Final Cut Studio 1, which contained Soundtrack Pro 1 and Compressor 2.3.1.
Here's what I did to remedy my issue...
1) Delete all Soundtrack Pro 1.x system files
2) Delete all Compressor & QMaster files (for directions, see:

3) Upon running Logic Studio, I noticed that though I could install Soundtrack Pro 2, the option to install Compressor was grayed out and indicated 'Skip'. I quite the installer and realized it was necessary to install Compressor directly using the package file.
4) On the Logic Studio disc, control-click the *Install Logic Studio* icon and select *Show Original*. This will take you to a hidden folder containing all of the individual installation packages.
4) To install Compressor first, open Compressor.mpkg
5) After I installed Compressor, I chose to run the main Logic Studio installer, and chose to install Soundtrack Pro.The installation for Soundtrack Pro should run normally, and it should install the ProMetaDataframework automatically.
I also did notice that the installation packages folder did contain an entry for ProAppsMetadataSupport.pkg, so you may be able to run this if it for some reason doesn't install.
After this, both applications finally launched perfectly! Ok, time for bed.
