Error using "LDF Database Open.vi" for LDF 2.1 file
Hi there,
I use the USB-LIN for a simulation for LIN bus. We had the LDF file of version 2.0 before but now we get a new LDF file which is in version 2.1.
We used
LDF Starter Kit for LIN 1.0.1
to read the LDF file but it seems that the kit doesn't work any more with the LDF version 2.1.
It there a workaround for the LDF file with version 2.1.
Thx,
Wilbur
Hi,
The NI USB-LIN was created to work with the version 1.3 network standard. However, version 2.0 and 2.1 are backwards compatible, so the NI USB-LIN will work with these networks as well.
there is currently not a plan to update it for LIN 2.1.
Note: The new features introduced in version 2.0 and 2.1 network standards will not be natively supported with the NI USB-LIN.

Is it possible to set an opening date for a password protected file
Is it possible to set an opening date for a password protected file!
I want to lock a folder and then have it open on a perticular date not just open with a password so that i am not tempted to open it. Is it possible?Yes. Go to the Settings app, and select safari. There will be a section called "Autofill", and you can enable it to save your passwords and auto-fill your personal information taken from the address book. Also, iOS automatically saves all Wi-Fi passwords, so there is no need to save it manually yourself.

I have Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6. If I buy adobe CC, can I easily open my for example indesign CS6 files with no complications?
I cannot imagine any problems in doing so, but you can keep your cs6 installation anyway.

Error message: "Webcam driver open fail" for Satellite L305-S5875
Problem: Webcam is not working and when Camera Assistant Software is started up, the Error message, "Webcam driver open fail" pops up.
Computer: Notebook Satellite L305-S5875
OS: Windows Vista
In troubleshooting, I have unsuccessfully tried the following: Changed the webcam driver several times, rolled back driver, updated driver, and tried Chicony 2.0 USB driver, and a few other webcam drivers. The webcam initially worked fine, but about a month after installing and using Skype video, the webcam suddenly stopped working and on reboot I got the error message.
I've stopped Skype and Camera Assistant Software at startup and manually start them, as someone suggested this as a solution. I've uninstalled both and reinstalled several times. I've tried one software without the other installed... trying every possible arrangement for a solution, to no avail.
I called Customer Support and John, although very nice and patient, was not helpful. He said he'd research and call back. Didn't.
I've gone to Chicony website to try to find an more current driver than January 07. When I let Windows install the latest from the web, it installs a Microsoft 2006 driver. I don't think it's a hardware issue, as it started acting up after Skype installed. I also tried System Restore, but that didn't work either.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
SteveCoThanks Jerry. I spent hours going through the links you provided and tried some of the suggestions looking for a solution. Nothing worked.
I tried uninstalling Toshiba's Camera Assist software and Skype (Skype initially seemed to be the instigator of the problem), completely removing both from the registry, and removing the webcam with Device Manager. Then I made sure Vista was up to date, and then installed the latest Toshiba Camera Assist software from the Toshiba download page. After installation and rebooting, I'm getting the same error message: "Webcam driver open fail."
The webcam used to work, before we installed Skype and used it a few times. From the other posts I've read, it does seem to be a common problem... usually after Skype or another webcam-using software is installed and run.
We have another Toshiba laptop: A215-S4757, that has the same OS and webcam-using programs, and it does not have an issue. Apparently though , after going through all the links on the European message board, you provided, the L305 model is having a problem.
Open for suggestions.

Oracle 11gR2 alter database open hangs for a long time
Hi,
We are cloning oracle apps database with RAC to non-RAC. We did the ORACLE_HOME clone and then duplicated the database with rman.
It completed successfully.
While trying to bounce the database, the db startup option hangs at "alter database open" for a long time
There are no errors in the alert log file. It just waits at "alter database open"
Please help and thanks in advance.

Has anyone used Paragon NTFS or Tuxera for Median and Project Files
I have read lots of discussions about why this is not a good idea but my two options are to do this or switch to Sony Vargas for everything so it would be good if people could let me know if they have had this working successfully.
So has anyone successfully used either of these 2 NTFS drivers to edit SD/HDV or Prores projects on? My only experience has been using SD footage on an NTFS drive with the free NTFS-3G drivers. This worked fine as long as project files were on non NTFS drive (for same reason if I saved project on NTFS is saves a file with a size of zero bytes).
Regards,
Ben
PS I wonder if this thread will stay on topic;).Macs can read drives that are formatted in NTFS as is. The software you mentioned enables a Mac to write to those drives. That said, you should edit using drives that are optimized for FCP and formatted Mac OS Extended.
Nothing to stop you copying the media from an NTFS drive to work with and then copying the finished result back.
As you are now in the position of having to do this, why not do a test and report back with your results? -
Error using Oracle Database Gateway for DRDA
Hello All,
We're encountering issues while trying to query a table using a db link to DB2 database.
We are running oracle 11g R1 on windows and we have DB2 installed on the box. We've installed database gateway for DRDA also on the same box. The gateway is running on a different home location within the same machine. But we get the following error while trying to query across the db link. Would be great if you can take a look and suggest appropriate changes.

I've also added the necessary IP entry to my host file.
Here's the listener log. I've grabbed it for 2 consecutive attempts to bind the package.

Error using transferTo function on VMS for long files
Here is the code snippet that fails, as you can tell I am not giving all the code since it is not required to understand the problem.
This occurs on OpenVMS
Welcome to OpenVMS (TM) Alpha Operating System, Version V7.3-2
java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition
Classic VM (build 1.4.2-5, 03/06/2006-23:29, native threads, nojit)
The error only occurs on files with very long line lengths (20 000+ characters in the line) and file size is not an issue.
Thanks in advance for your help in resolving this issue.

at WebReturnResult.main(WebReturnResult.java)Hi ,
Unfortunately this is an issue in the underlying driver for the USB device. It should be fixed in the next DAQ release.
One way you could work around this problem is by having a delay after the read and the next line of code.
i.e
Private Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long)
DAQmxErrChk DAQmxReadAnalogScalarF64(taskHandle, 10#, data, ByVal 0&
Sleep(250)
acquisitionDataTextBox.Text = CStr(data)
Hope this helps...

Using external database as source for Quicktime annotation automator action
Hi
I have approximately 1500 quicktime files which require annotations added to them (title, author etc).
I've been provided a spreadsheet with all the neccessary data. And I know there is an automator action that can add annotations to quicktime files but was wondering if either of the following was possible:
1) Can I get the an automator script to use this spreadsheet as a source for the values it is to enter.
OR
2) If I can get automator to add the files name to the annotations section (under title)
Greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
RegardsHI
Make sure you select the Initialize or Run methods, depending on where you try to define the database connection it will not let you do it.
Good practice would be to define the database and the connection in the initialize section, the SQL and execute in the Run section and the disconnect in the Finish section, however that could change depending on your needs.

Error using Excel as a DataSource for Report Builder 3.0 - ODBC connection
Hi,
I'm getting this error message below while trying to use excel as a datasource within Report Builder 3.0. I can see the columns and rows but unable to display/run the report. Using Excel 32 bit and have the driver and user dsn created under c:/windows/syswow64/odbcad32.

Vishal's link looks good.
I have commercial experience in migrating Crystal Reports to SSRS. When performing any type of migration it is always wise for the business requirements to be revisited. It is likely that the business requirements may have changed since the Crystal reports
were initially developed, etc.
I've done some research for you and the following link looks quiet impressive and offers a cheap trial, in terms of a direct migration. Please tell me how you get on; -
http://www.sqlcircuit.com/2013/08/ssrs-how-to-create-report-using-excel.html
I emphasis again I have commercial experience of lots of migration projects and it would be very unwise to not revisit the business requirements as part of the migration process.
Kind Regards,
Kieran.
