VTO-4400 No database has been discovered. please use the enterprise managem
Hi,
I am new to Oracle Enterprise Manager. I just installed Oracle8i on Windows 2000 Server. I am connecting to OEM as sysman. When i try to open database applications (e.g. Tools - Database Applications - DBA Studio) from Oracle Enterprise Manager, it gives error:
VTO-4400 No database has been discovered. please use the enterprise management console to discover atleast one database before starting the application.
Can anybody tell me how to connect to the database?
Thanks,
PruthaHaving said all that, a colleague has suggested we just limit the amount of RAM available for the EX2010 DB cache
Then it won't have to start releasing RAM when the backup runs, and won't throw SCOM alerts
This attribute should do it...

Give me a shout if this is a bad idea
Thanks -
I am trying to launch the Backup tool using the Backup Management menu option in Enterprise manager and get this error.
VTO-2014: Server object could not be instantiated. Please disconnect and try again.
This started happening after I uninstalled and reinstalled Oracle (on a Win2K server.)
I searched all over Oracle for help on this error message and there were no hits, not even in the documentation.
Any ideas?Hi,
Im new too. I've had some similar problems. You need to make sure you are logged on to the OEM In Oracle Management Server. You must first configure this set by going into Programs/oracle/configuration and migration tools/ and then clicking on the Enterprise Configuration Assistant. Once you have followed that wizard you'll have to start the service on your server. go to Admin tools/services/ and look for a service that looks similar to oracleorahomemanagmentserver. Once you start the service you'll be able to get into your OEM. You'll login as SYSMAN with the default pasword listed in the help file on the login screen. You can then go in to the CONFIGURATION menue and confiugre Admins to change the password from the default and to add an admin of your own. I also have found that by setting the service previously mentioned to automatic you forgo some of the head ache of having to remember how to go about turning it back on again.
Hope this helps

Hello,
I have a problem when startung DBA-Studio!
I installed Windows 2000 and Oracle 8.1.7.
In Enterprise Manager Console my node is recognised, Manger service and
Oracle81Agent are running. When starting the DBA Studio in "Manager Server

stops with VTO-4400 ! It can't find any Database and the user should use the
Enterprise Manager Console ! But this is done!!!
Can anybody help!!?
Thanks Marcelthis is probably due to an incomplete restoration of xml after running rmjvm.
having done rmjvm, all java classes, including xml classes are gone so i suspect you need to redo initxml
I have finally gotten loadjava to load and create all the files in the JAR:

Using the following command:

NOW! It will not resolve any of the classes because for each file I am getting the following error:
ORA-29521: referenced name <--class name--> could not be found
I recieved this error for each class loaded via loadjava and calling the xsu111.jar file.
any reasons why? There is also a file named xsu12.jar is the latest?
Help Please! Thanks in advance. -
OEM: No database discovered
i've installed Oracle Enterprise Manager v2.2 server and console
on a Windows 2000 machine. i'm trying to get it to manage a
Linux based Oracle 8.1.7 database server. the database node
seems to be correctly configured in the OEM console but when
i try to start the DBA studio from the OEM console i get the
following error message:
VTO-4400: No database has been discovered. Please use the
Enterprise Manager console to discover at least one database
before starting the application.
should the databases on a database server node be discovered in
some way in addition to the node itself? should this be done
automatically? any ideas on why it isn't working in my case
though the node discovery still works?I also have the same problem.
Check if your OracleOraHome81Agent is running. This is
installed on each node and runs jobs, collects data on remote
sites and monitors events sent by the OMS. OEM uses this agent
to discover services on the node where it resides.
On command prompt do lsnrctl dbsnmp_status to check. Or control
panel --> double-click services icon. Select
OracleOraHome81Agent and click start push button. -
Connect database to Oracle Management Server (OMS)
Hi experts,
I have configured database to OMS manually.
Now when I try to create jobs and events or Load on OMS it gives following error:
VTO-2018: This wizard could not be launched because the target was manually configured. It can be launched for targets which have been discovered using an Intelligent Agent.
When I try to configure it automatically, it does not recognise.
Please help how to solve this problem.Do you have access to Metalink?
If yes, there is an Enterprise Manager forum discussion recorded that discusses this exact issue. Do a Metalink 'Advanced' Search for exact phrase "This wizard could not be launched because the target was manually configured."
In summary - your intelligent agent is either not working or does not have the correct credentials set up. -
Error Adding DMP 4400 to DMM 5.2.2
I am trying to add a new DMP to my DMM system and everytime I input the IP and MAC on the DMM for the DMP and click ok to add I get the following error code.
DMP could not be added. Error 400
Any Ideas as to what this error code is. I have serched and am unable to find any information on error codes for DMM.
DMP:
DMP-4400
5.2.2
DMM:
Version ID: V5.2.2
HW Model: MCS-7835-H3Hello,
1) Do you have a firewall in your network, If Yes - Have you opened the necessary ports on it ?
Please refer to the ports that need to be allowed between the DMP and DMM.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/5_x/5_2/showandshare/admin/guide/appports.html
2) Error Code 400 could be the HTTP Error code, Which means that the request from the client to the server or vice versa was not understood by the receiving end.
3) Makes sure the DMP and DMM are running the same code version and nothing is blocking port 7777 between them.
4) A screenshot of the error would be helpful .

After Installing an Oracle 9i database and its patches then installing a 9i and 10g client dicovered problems running enterprise manager.
When I used the feature Show DDL and Create Like for certain objects I would receive the following erros
VTO-2014 Server Object Could Not be Instantiated
VBO-1508 An Error has Occurred and teh server object could not be initialized
ORA-29902 Error in Executing <routine name> routine
ORA-00600 Internal Error Code ...
The solution for me was found on metalink for those who like me are not blessed with access to metalink here is teh solution to my issue.
When the patch sets where installed the script catpatch.sql was not executed.
Once this script was executed my problem went away.

4400 DTLS error AP will not register.
I have just upgraded one of our 4400 to 7.0.98.0. Most of the AP re-registered with out issues. I have two AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 on a remote site that will not re-register.
I have pointed them to another 2125 WLC ( 7.0.98.0) and they register fine. Point them to yet another 4400 (7.0.98.0) I get the same issue.
I am getting this error when the register on the 4400s.

Configured Switch 2 Addr 144.46.214.25
Question 1 if I do a "clear config except static IP" will I still be able to telnet tp them or will they default to no telnet no ssh ?
Question 2 any idea how to get past this DTLS error ?Hi Stuart,
Please note that the AP is configured with wrong parameters for the 4402 WLC.
On the AP we have:
Primary Cisco Switch Name........................ lonwlc01
Primary Cisco Switch IP Address.................. 144.46.214.25
Secondary Cisco Switch Name...................... abzewwlc
Secondary Cisco Switch IP Address................ 144.46.211.4
But the 4402 WLC actually has:
System Name...................................... abzwwwlc
IP Address....................................... 144.46.211.6
Also, if you'd like the AP to join the 4402 as a first choice, you should configure it as follows:
Primary Cisco Switch Name........................ abzwwwlc
Primary Cisco Switch IP Address.................. 144.46.211.6
Secondary Cisco Switch Name...................... lonwlc01
Secondary Cisco Switch IP Address................ 144.46.214.25

Fede

===== END DUMP ===============================================================We are trying to install VTune on our AMD Opteron development system. We are running SUSE 10 64-bit OS with SP1. The information contained in the included data files seems to describe our environment quite well. We have eclipse version 3.3.0 already installed, but are trying to allow VTune to install an earlier version of eclipse (3.2.1). When we try to launch VTune, once we have inserted the paths to our ( or to the sample ) application and to the working directory, VTune blows up apparently because of "Error Message: Illegal memory access. [54]", producing the following message block, which is then followed with the contents of the jrockit.31412.dump file it created in the /root/workspace/ directory. If we try to use the "Browse" feature from the working directory option box, we get the same error. Looking at the BEA forum there seems to be a few references to a similar error which required some patch to fix (CR263825). We have not been successful in trying to find that patch.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Have I missed something to post?
Last edited by dockland (2015-06-17 20:30:48)I read that this line in my case
[ 1.115441] ACPI Warning: SystemIO range 0x000000000000F000-0x000000000000F01F conflicts with OpRegion 0x000000000000F000-0x000000000000F00F (\_SB_.PCI0.SBUS.SMBI) (20150204/utaddress-254)
is a bug and unfixable.
What does that mean and why is it "unfixable"? Is that some hardware that is not compatible with Arch at all? -
To start from the beginning I originally kept my iTunes library on my internal hard drive. However, it was getting large and I needed to move it so I moved it to an external drive. Then I recently upgraded my internal hard drive to a 1 TB hard drive so that I would have plenty of space for everything. I then moved my iTunes library to the new drive, or so I thought. It is all technically there. (As you can see from the bottom screen shot.) However, for some reason iTunes is looking in the trash for a good portion of my library. (I have 4400+ songs and 4000+ of them are showing the exclamation point and this error.) I know that I must have done all of the moving around incorrectly. (I followed directions from some blog I googled, big mistake.) Now I just want to get my library how it should be. All back together on this new internal drive with no dups etc.
I have over 4000 songs giving me this error. I can go in one by one on each song and find it in the iTunes Media folder. But I certainly don't want to do it that way. Here is the info on where the song(s) seem to be currently:
Here's a shot of my preferences:
Just FYI, I know that apparently iTunes is looking for this music in the trash. However, if I go here:
Then I find the music there as well. (Which is where it is in my preferences.)
Please help! I don't want to have to go through over 4000 songs and update them one by one. The music is apparently in both the trash and in my iTunes media folder. How do I get iTunes to look for these 4000+ songs in the right place without going in one by one to fix them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Hi JJuniper,
When tracks in iTunes display a it means the file cannot be located; it may have been moved or deleted. For this issue, we will need to refer to the following article:
iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408
Alternatively, if your media was downloaded from the iTunes Store, you may be able to download it again free of charge. You'll want to first delete the tracks from your list in iTunes, then access the purchased page:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
Thanks,
Matt M.
