I have pretty much the same problem -- I run three different types of Browsers (Firefox 3.6; Internet Explorer 6; Chrome) and I've found that they are all affected by this ... thing.
I suspect that there is some kind of war going on, or a very aggressive move by Yahoo onto the Browsers and Search Engine scene. With Yahoo trying to be an 800 lb (Pound weight) Gorilla - again, Yawn!
I this because I've recently installed an AntiVirus application (which is a really good one -- but, unfortunately for the AntiVirus maker they did not look closely enough at who they were getting into bed with -- The 800 Pound Gorilla, Yahoo.
This AntiVirus's installer had a default setting to make Yahoo Search my default search engine -- it was a tiny notice about this and I happened to look otherwise Yahoo would have installed openly onto my computer (and I don't want them. I've been using computers since before the Internet was publicly and generally available and I know only too well Yahoo's Huge Ego and Navel gazing behaviour.
Basically, Mozilla are on Yahoo's side, because -- in the minds of the anarchists of Mozilla -- Google had no right to make a Browser.
This is Mozilla getting its own back on Google and Google Chrome. Mozilla are culpable in this assault on our own property -- our own computers. By two organizations who are bitter at Google. Actually, they are jealous of Google because Google succeeded on the quality and purity of Google products and their terrific business sense and strategy.
Now, Mozilla and Yahoo have got in cahoots (and chumps like the supplier of my AntiVirus have been sucked into this) to "Do something about Google" as Mozilla proclaimed they would do (should they get the chance) some few years ago.
Now, I have in my computer: Yahoo software and a Mozilla Browser which are both acting truly as Malware. Now that AntiVirus company which loaded Yahoo software onto my computer can understand why I wrote to them pointing all this out (and they, a multi-million or billion pound organization missed what tiny little me could see) that they have helped Malware get onto my system -- now their up-to-that-moment very well thought of AntiVirus and organization ... Well, their name is now mud (but I shall not say their name here. Let them suffer their stupidity and shame, that should be enough for them. They are going to have a time of it cleaning this little ol' mess up.)

Error message: "Warning: unresponsive script". Afterward, the system freezes and will then crash. Crash reports have been submitted many, many times without response. I have tried the fore-mentioned solutions with either no results or very bad results which I filed a report but did not receive an answer. The application to block scripts actually worsened the problem and I could not correct the situation for a while (no response from Firefox, at all). I have also been through this procedure without any one contacting me, AT ALL.

http://http://www.facebook.com (always) and www.YouTube.com (sometimes)There does appear to be any support whatsoever from mighty "non caring" FIREFOX & people are getting fed up. We may as well try another system, if they can't be bothered to provide any support for their system, we can't be bothered to use their system.

Warning: unresponsive script error
Cant get rid of the Warning: unresponsive script error. HELP!!!
We need more information - does this only happen on a specific site, or all sites?
-
After I downloaded the Firefox update, when I tried to open Firefox I got the error message: "Warning unresponsive script...etc". This happens every time and the choices in the message ("continue" etc) are unresponsive. Further I can't delete the error window without going to Task Manager to end the program. The problem also disabled Internet Explorer which will now simply not load. Google Chrome is working. I assume it relates to the update since the problems (for both Firefox and IE) occurred immediately after the download.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") -
Warning Unresponsive script on Resume from Hibernation Kubuntu 10.04
Frequently I put my computer into hibernation so I can view webpages without an internet connection. I will put my computer into hibernation, then disconnect it and sometime later resume the computer. What I find is that every time I resume the computer certian webpages that I have open cause the "Warning Unresponsive script" to pop up, eventually causing firefox to hang for a little while or crash. Is there no way to avoid this, or is there any way to auto stop scripts once the internet connection has been lost for a certian amount of time?
Ok title changed.
As i said, that error occurred while using comprezzion (lzf, but it happened with lzo too).
But i said that similar problem on resume occurred without them too, i must only remember to hibernate (tonight i'll do it, hope to not forget it), then i'll put here new log files
Sorry for the inaccuracy.
EDIT:seems to be a well known problem with compression (http://lists.tuxonice.net/pipermail/tux … 07185.html) ...so i have to investigate what was the problem when i did not use compression...i'll post my log as soon as i can.

When I try to close hotmail or Firefox (and other internet sites) a box pops up after a few moments of inactivity.
"Warning: Unresponsive script A script on this page may be busy or may have stopped responding." I'm given the choice to stop the script or continue. I choose stop and then the programs close.
It is irritating because of the the delay before the warning pops up. Plus now there is an extra step - I can't just click and close anymore.

I tried to research what Chrome was and I think it has to do with Google. The only thing I ever tried of Google is Google Earth and it didn't work right. I can't find anything by Google on my add/remove programs page. I deleted Firefox and Adobe Flash to reload and see if it helped. It was better without Adobe Flash, but I still got the same warnings. but not as often. When I downloaded Adobe Flash I got all kinds of "Warning Unresponsive Scrips" pop ups again!
If I click on Don't Ask Again and then Stop Script will it alwys do what I'm telling it to do or just not ask me to stop the script? Thanks for your help!!!References to chrome are not referring to Google or their Chrome browser.

I'm on a MacBook air. I tried to close Firefox and it won't let me, I tried uninstalling it and won't let me, and I tried shutting down my computer and still won't let me do anything! Someone please help me! I already called Apple and they said they couldn't help me because Firefox isn't part of them. Also Firefox really needs to get a customer service number!
Hi OliviaMancia,
I understand that you have an installation of Firefox that is giving you the unresponsive script warning. I also understand that you filed this for Firefox for Android as well as Desktop?
None the less, please see [[Warning Unresponsive script - What it means and how to fix it]] for Desktop. As for the mobile version please try the add on Noscript or Adblock Plus to block some unwanted scripts.
Unfortunately Mozilla currently does not have the resources to maintain a Support line. -
"Warning: Unresponsive script" message and Firefox v16+
I recently upgraded to v16, and then v17. In both cases I repeatedly received the dreaded "Warning: Unresponsive script" message, so frequently that the browser became unusable.

I reverted to v15 and now I NEVER get the "Warning: Unresponsive script" message anymore

When starting up Firefox get my users get Warning unresponsive script
A script on this page may be busy or or it may have stopped responding this is on the en-US/firefox/4.01/whatsnew

Switched from Internet Explorer because seemed slow. Firefox was fast at first. Then upgraded to Firefox 4 and frequently have trouble opening. Sometimes page doesn't open, or is very slow. If I try to open again I will get Mozilla Firefox Unresponsive or a message that say "Warning-Unresponsive Script". Often have to restart and do the whole thing again. Don't really want to switch back to Internet Explorer, but getting tired of taking a half hour to get into my emails!
I am having the same problem, but not sure what's causing the slow down. Restarting in safe mode fixes the performance problem... but disabling all plug ins and extensions in normal mode (and restarting firefox) still shows the bug. Any ideas?
