Error when compile package.

create or replace package body test_data is
V_STARTDATE DATE;
PROCEDURE CATEGORY_EXPORT aS
cursor C1 is
select expdate from local_Category_Data loc;
end category_us_export;
end test_data;
gives error "encountered the symbol end when expecting the following begin function..
help is appreciated.

Hi,
in package body there must be full definition of procedures (and before package body there must be package specification), so something like
create or replace package test_data is
procedure category_export;
end;
create or replace package body test_data is
V_STARTDATE DATE;
PROCEDURE CATEGORY_EXPORT aS
cursor C1 is
select expdate from local_Category_Data loc;
begin
-- something to do
for rec in c1 loop
null; -- something with cursor records
end loop;
end category_export;
end test_data;
