Error when copying files using WebDav web folder

When copying a large group of files/folder to a 10gAS portal page we are randomly seeing the error: "An error occurred while copying some or all of the selected files" in Windows Explorer. Clicking "ok" will resume the file copy process.
The only error I see in the Apache log is:
[Mon Aug  2 18:00:06 2004] [error] OraDAV: Apache/OCI Error -9999/0: ORADAV: LOB was closed with active write operation
Any suggestions? I couldn't find anything on metalink, though i have logged an iTAR as well.

My AirPort Extreme card was replaced on my MacBook by Apple. Prior to this, I was getting odd errors like the one outlined above. I do not receive this issue anymore, and I think I can attribute it to the hardware issue with the card.

  • External Hard drive getting errors when copying files?

When I'm copying files to my hard drive I keep getting errors that the file is in use.  It was originally stopping at around the 167.8MB mark everytime when I try copying files over and giving me that error.  As this is a 1TB HDD I have no way of backing it up until I get to the US (currently studying in Australia).  So just wondering if anyone had ideas.
    Things I've done:
    - Tried using HDD over Firewire/USB and with other Macs still same errors
    - Tried Disk Utility and sometimes it I get no errors with the disk when I do Repair/Verify Disk or I get an error where the disk can't be unmounted
         - I get that error of unmounting when I normally unmount them and I have to unplug the HDD for it to be readable again.
    - I try copying files from it or to it, and sometimes files copy to my Computer entirely even 2GB ones, but other times it stops at random intervals, and it always   stops when copying files to the HDD that never works, usually stops at random times.  :\
Any suggestions, help, or programs I can use for HDD repair would be great!
    Thanks a lot,

  • Error when copying files to NAS

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I frequently get errors in the Finder when copying files to my NAS.
This never happened under Mountain Lion. The error says "The operation can’t be completed because the item “filename” is in use."
Most of the time, it does copy over after several attempts. I'd like to know if there is a fix for this, or an update in the works.
    I'm currently on 10.9.
    Thanks!

...Just FYI my problem occured even though I had updated to 10.9.2.
Through trial and error I eventually got my files copied. I detailed what I ended up doing in my post which I referred to above: ( https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5944278 )

  • Error when copying files from SSD to HD

Build 9926 (clean install  not upgrade)
When copying file (drag & drop) from either an SSD>> HD or HD>>SSD I get the below error.  This is definetly build specific and not hardware related.  I have re-installed 9926 from an MSDN ISO 3x with the same results.
Both drives are local.  Both drives have been checked and are ok.
    Any ideas?

  • Permission Error when copy files into cmsdk using NFS with non admin user

    Hi All,
We are using CMSDK with NFS protocol and we have created different users with ACL to control different access for users.
When we copy files into cmsdk folders using one of the admin user this works fine, even a multiple copy works fine. But when we use any non admin user , some time copy commands works but some time it throw a permission deny error. and this is happening very intermittently.
when we use ftp protocol and ftp file it's all works fine for the both admin & non admin user. Is there any limitation in using CMSDK NFS protocol
Did any one encouter any similar issue. Any pointers would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance

  • -36 error when copying files

I'm trying to copy files to an OSX server (v.10.4.11) and often get -36 errors. What does this code mean and how can I solve this issue?
I tried copying from Windows and other 10.4 computers and it seems to work, but when I copy from OS10.5 clients, I always get this error message.
Is there a list of error codes I can find somewhere in the support section? I find this rather cryptic for an OS known for its user friendliness.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command). Rebuild it to the Pictures Folder. This might overcome the -36 issue.
(This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.)
Failing that you're into recovering your Originals from the damaged Library and creating a new Library and starting over from scratch.

  • Time Capsule: "Network name no longer available" error when copying files

    Hi!
I've come upon this error when trying to copy files from my PC to Time Capsule:
    "Network name no longer available".
This seems to happen only on folders that have image sequences in them (.sgi image sequences).
I was planning on transferring the content of my PCs hard drive to Time-Machine in order to smooth out the migration from my old PC to my new MBP but I have to say that I'm a little less confident about using TC as a storage space for my valuable files.
Is there a work around for this? I have tons of folders with .sgi image sequences and it would be a real shame not to be able to transfer them to Time Capsule.
    Please help!

Hi… I don’t think there should be any such limitation for the file transfer wirelessly. However it can be issue, as you wired is connect at a speed of 100 Mbps and wireless connects to the max at 54 Mbps. Try to upgrade the firmware. Also try reducing Fragmentation Threshold and RTS threshold by 40 each under advance wireless settings on the router. Go to www.speedguide.net, and download the TCP optimizer. Try reducing the MTU of your wireless adapter. Please Revert Back, even if this resolves your issue.

  • Error when opening files using SMB server

I’m trying to download files using a Windows SMB server, but it does not work properly. I'm using a VPN connection to access the server. I already added smb protocol in my system preferences (using 'more internet'), but when I’m trying to open a file, the following error message (code 36) appears:
The Finder cannot complete the operation because some of the data in smb://........ could not be read or written.
The Console gives the following error message:
    mount_smbfs: can't get server address `……:
    Unknown host
mount_smbfs: can't get server address: syserr = Network is down
Does anyone know how to solve thed error? Thanx in advance!
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4)

This has been bugging me. Typically, the FileOpenClient error would include the name of the "client" referenced by the FileOpenClient parameter in the ditafm.ini file (I don't think it really does anything, but that's not the point). In this case it's not indicating the name of the client. After some testing it looks like FM10 (probably FM9 as well) prints this error along with the message about being unable to open a file. I have a feeling that it's just a bogus error message. However, the message about being unable to open the file is real.
Note that there is a difference between being unable to "open" of "locate" a file .. you'll see different messages in each condition. This (and the message from M_Boyd) are "open" errors. Off hand I don't know why. Try manually opening the file specified and see if you get any errors. I've not been able to replicate the "open" error (just a "locate" error) even when I corrupt the target file so it is invalid XML. When I do this, the xref does not properly resolve, and it *does* add significant time to the time it takes to open the referencing file .. but I'm not getting any errors written to the console for this .. strange.
Also note that the error says "Unable to resolve link" .. this means a "link" element is the referencing element, as opposed to an "xref". If it was an xref it would say "Unable to resolve xref".
Bottom line .. don't worry about the FileOpenClient error .. I think it's just bogus. But there is some reason that FM isn't able to open your referenced files. I'd strip out all of the references and start over with just one .. make sure it works before adding more. The simpler you can keep the directory structure the better.

  • Time Capsule - Network Error when copying files

    Hi
I'm trying to copy files over to my Time Capsule, the drive is recognised and I can access it, and create folders inside it, but as soon as I start copying files, it tries to copy and sometimes copies 1 or 2 files and then an error message pops up saying
    'Network Error
There is a problem accessing Z:\Backup'
where Backup is the folder I'm trying to transfer and Z:\ is the TC drive.
    Please can someone help?
    Thanks

    Hi
I have solved this by rolling back firmware to 7.3.2 Looks like anything later, and I get this problem.........hope Apple fixes this.

  • Applying ACL's when copying files using SBM protocol

I' need to change the default behaviour of CMSDK when I'm copiying a file with Windows Explorer using SBM protocol in this way :
When I'm copiying a file from some branchs of my tree of directories I want that ACL to apply is the ACL of the original file and not the ACL of the user who is doing the copy. For instance:
Original file --> 'FILEA' with ACL 'AclA'
User --> 'Pepe' default ACL 'Acluser'
    Copied file --> 'FILEB'
CMSDK will copy the 'FILEA' to 'FILEB' with ACL 'Acluser', but I need that ACL of 'FILEB' is 'AclA' and not 'Acluser' ( from the original file FILEA).
How could I get this ?.
    Thanks.

This is no possible with SMB protocol. Ask for bug 1672091 to Oracle Support.

  • Errors when copying files to external HDs

I'm going to try to make this as uncomplicated as possible, so please bear with me.
I have two WD Elements external HDs. I use a Belkin powered 2-port USB hub to connect them to my Airport Extreme (used as a server). I started out with one of them, a 1.5 TB, and purchased the second one when the first started to get really full. I use them exclusively for storing music files. My plan was to move files from the  nearly full drive to the new one. I began moving files, folder by folder (a painstaking and time-consuming process) from the one drive to the other.
The first problem that popped up was this: in the process of copying a folder to the new drive, an error message appeared saying that the "operation could not be completed because you do not have access to some of the items." I in fact have full custom access to both drives, and am the only one who uses them. Another message I would sometimes get would be, "[file name] could not be moved because its name contains too many characters."
I found this annoying but bearable until it started happening more frequently. What's more, when a folder failed to copy completely, that would leave me with an identically named but incomplete folder in the second location. An attempt to delete it would be met by another error message, "[folder name] could not be deleted because [folder or file name] is in use.
I hope this is all clear enough. Any help would be appreciated.

Simplify the system.  You have a lot of components right now and it is hard to know where the error lies.  If this is a one-time major transfer of files personally I could connect them directly to the computer, get it done, then reconnect to the spaghetti of wi-fi, hubs, etc..
What format drives?  Are you really running a server with intervening firmware or software, or are these simply external drives?

  • Error when copying files

When I try to copy one of my pictures to a folder i get this error message
    http://static.flickr.com/33/44555036fd4aae9090o.png
I can copy the picture any where else on the computer and I can also copy any file but that picture to the folder I am trying to put it in. Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

Open it in the creating program and save it as a new file somewhere else (don't just save it in the same place with the same name).

  • Is there any limitations in Finder when copying files using clipboard?

One day I was moving my photos from one folder to another and accidently discovered that not all of my files are copied!
What I was doing (I'm using Finder):
    - Go into folder
    - Cmd+A to select all files
    - Cmd+C to copy them into clipboard
    - Cmd+V to paste them in new location
Every folder contain about 10k files, but (I did some checks) copy operation copied only 2-3k. Every time different amount.
    It was so unexpected!
Does anybody know what does it mean??

There is no clipboard limit that I'm aware of. I have copied folders containing tens of thousands of files with no problem. Seems like a bug in the OS.
Just a question, why are you copying your files when you could just drag&drop them from one folder to the other?
