Error when creating a FDM application on SQL Server 2005

Hi,
we are getting this error when creating a FDM application on SQL Server 2005
Error: EPMCSS-07003: Failed to validate identity. Invalid identity . Check identity.[SET_ROLES_LIST]
We are using Windows System Integration although we have also tested with sa user.
Any ideas?

Based on the error message it appears to be having a Shared Services issue. Verify that the "ADMIN" account is being used for the HSS connection and that you are using "ADMIN" to create the application and see if the same error is returned.

we have published a webservice with XI 7.0 (using the SOAP-Adapter) and try to call it from a stored procedure within SQL-Server 2005. Upon execution we receive the error
"<SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">EMPTY_HTTP_REQUEST_RECEIVED</SAP:Code>" and
"<SAP:Stack>Empty HTTP query received; message processing not possible </SAP:Stack>".
We are using the dll MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP. The webservice is available and can be reached from other tools like SOAP-UI when using the same endpoint-URL. It is also possible to call the service from Visual-Basic using the same code.
Does anyone has any clue about what's causing this error?

It is clear that, PI service is working absolutely fine and the problem is calling it in your SP. I do not think you are calling a web service but actually sending a HTTP request to the server. An HTTP request and a SOAP call are different in terms of protocol. You would need to explore more on how to call web services from SQL SPs.. and the right place to search would be MS SQL Server Forums..!!

Error in adding PRIMARY Data file of SQL Server 2005

Hi Experts,
I am using SQL 2005 as back end database for SAP ECC6. Due to Space problem in PRD data volume, i have added PRDDATA4.ndf file in SSMS ( SQL Server Management Studio) and saved. But, suddenly i got one more idea and extended the file size of exisiting PRDDATA1.mdf, PRDDATA2.ndf & PRDDATA3.ndf immediately i removed the PRDDATA4.ndf file before starting the service. But, while seeing in SAP using ST04 it showing the PRDDATA4.ndf with error message of file missing. What i have to do now? How can i delete the information showing in ST04. But it is not showing in SSMS.
Please help how to solve this.

Following solution might help you to resolve the issue.
Solution1:
Issue happens because universe connection to the Database is not responding and the Data Source Name is not configured to write SQL Server 2005 database.
Resolution
Created new DSN connection under SYSTEM DSN to SQL Server 2005 Database.
Import the universe from the designer.
Go to File->Parameters.
Edit Connection.
On the Database Middleware Page expand SQl Server 2005->Select SQL Server 2005 driver.
Change the DSN to new DSN connection
Test the connection.
Save the Universe and Export it to the repository.
Solution2:
I am taking Oracle as an example over here.
This can be caused when the SQLNET.ora is located in a remote location using mapped drives.
Resolution
To resolve,
check the registry [HKLM\SOFTWARE\ORACLE] you should see a folder called HOME0
look for any paths that contain a mapped drive partition
Change the mapped drive letter to a UNC path (
server\folder)
Open a command prompt and do a tnsping using the tnsname and verify the location of the SQLNET.ora or TNSNAMES.ora
If the path is not updated to the new path
Reboot the server

Point/Migrate batch jobs from Sybase(auto scheduled through Control-M application) to SQL Server 2005

Hi,
I am currently working in project where we need to migrate/point batch jobs to SQL server 2005. At this moment they are pointing to Sybase. Batch jobs are in .bat and .exe format. These jobs read in an external file, does some reformatting,
and then loads it into 2 sybase tables. These jobs are auto scheduled through Control-M application.
Any idea please ?

You would need to at least change the connection strings, and how you access SQL Server, but typically code changes are necessary.
You unfortunately don't provide enough details. But it is not as trivial to just 'point' a bunch of jobs to a new target.

1. As you are taking service, your database is oracle database, you might have created a user/schema .
2. When you are creating FDM application and that too providing details of database , there is a button 'options',which has more options like tablespace..etc.
3. If you have created a schema and it has a specific table space ,then you need to provide these details also.else, while creating a user, if you have selected everything as default, then no need to go to 'options'.

Sql 2008 r2 error when creating minimum rights to run sql jobs

I did everything this page said and when I login with the user rights, and I click on JOBS to expand it to see them, I can't see them and I get an error saying: execute permission was denied on the object 'xp_sqlagent_enum_jobs', database 'mssqlsystemresource',
schema 'sys'. (Microsoft Sql Server, Error: 229)

If I look at sql login account, I have PUBLIC checked for Server Roles. I tried changing that to ServerAdmin and it didn't help so I put it back to public.
On user mapping, I tried checking dbowner, and that didn't help either.

@Prashanth, thanks. For me, that was partially the answer, but then i just applied your logic to the other errors. First, I didn't have the user as a member of the Master DB to even run this command, so I did that. Then I ran your code and I
got an error and had to run this:

then I tried and got error so i ran this and then it worked. thank you!

this is an error when you somehow timeout the connection on DB without going through the WLS...
This can happen if the oracle setting are designed to timeout ideal connections or some one does it manually...
Also this can be found in case of Locks or some corrupt data on oracle which makes the JTA transaction end abnormally...

I'm trying to create a new web application ( under Deployments in console). I
just manually create an sub-dir under ".\config\<active-domain>\applications"
directory, say WebAppDir. Then I went to the console and right-click on the "Web
Applications" and select "Configure a new Web Application", then I filled out
the Name, URI, and Path as follows:
Name: WebAppDir
URI: WebAppDir
Path: .\config\<active-domain>\applications
then click "Create" , I then got the following error message, I don't know why
and what i did wrong... please let me know what did i do wrong ? I don't have
any things under the new dir i created, but I thought i would be fine, but it
didn't.

Sync error when creating translation of application

When applying a translation file and publish the application we get the following error:
ORA-20001: Sync error: WWV_FLOW_PAGE_PLUGS.PLUG_NAME ORA-01407: cannot update ("FLOWS_030000"."WWV_FLOW_PAGE_PLUGS"."PLUG_NAME") to NULL
For another very simple test application in the same workspace I did not run into this problem.

These instructions were not fully implemented.
It was necessary to copy file jstl.jar into directory :
$OTM/glog/gc3webapp/WEB-INF/lib/3rdparty
After that, the above problem has been resolved.

Data type error when linking Salesforce field to MS SQL Server field?

Hello. I'm using CR XI R2 SP4 with the Salesforce 3.0 driver. I have MS SQL 2000 SP4. I want to create a standard report that links the Salesforce Contacts table with a table in my local SQL 2000 database - the table also contains a column with the contact ID values. When I try to link using the Contact ID field, Crystal gives me an error "Data types are not compatible."
The ID column data type in my SQL database is CHAR(18). Is there a type I should use to make it work with Salesforce?

Thanks for your reply. In Salesforce, ID is a special data type - I don't know what it would match in SQL. I'll have to open a case with them to see if they can tell me.

There are more detailed logs for the various components. The one of interesting is the one for the engine or possibly the one for full-text.
These logs are extremely verbose, and the errors are rarely crystal clear, but at least give them a try. If you have problems, find a place to upload them (Dropbox, Skrydrive etc), so that we can look.
The closest at hand is that "group" that cannot be found is an AD group.

Integrating J2EE application with SQL Server Reporting Services

I want to integrate a J2EE application with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. In fact, it is the first time to be involved in developing an interoperability component between .Net web service and Java application. So I have learned for some time how to pass this challenge. After going through the lab, I tried to apply the same code in my machine but I have stuck with the following error:
