Error when downloading from iTunes Store

I'm trying to download an album, and one of the tracks is a video. When that video tried to download, it gave an error 42003. It said to check network connectivity and try again. Did that, but still the error. What does this error mean? What can I do to fix it?

Disable any firewall, anti-virus, etc software you may have and try again. This includes most things by Norton, McAfee, and so on. Also, if you're connected wireless or through a router, try accessing the internet directly via your broadband modem.

  • Error -3150 when downloading from iTunes Store

For the past several days since upgrading to iT8, when I've tried to download files from iTunes, it has errored out at some point of the download with error -3150. I got this error when downloading a 9MB podcast file, and also a 1.64GB HD tv show.
When I got it on the podcast, it reset all of the file's progress and started over. Thankfully, it did not do it with the TV show (which was 999MB through) or I would have been considerably more upset, but it did waste all the time I was using to download it. ADSL is terrible in the country I'm currently staying in, but it's all that's available to me.
In any case, I have not seen any mention of this error anywhere, and would appreciate knowing what it means, and more importantly, what Apple is doing about it.

Well, I guess that will have to do. Thanks for the heads up. It is a DSL connection, and there's not much that I can do about intermittent connections because cable/satellite is literally nonexistant in this country. However, Apple might want to consider revamping their file transfer protocols if this is going to be a standard problem - this would be in their best interest especially since they're going to be releasing the iPhone all over the world, and very few places have Internet speeds like USA and East Asia.

  • TS3694 error -39 leads to error -50 when downloading from itunes store and the download will not resume

I download a TV Show from itunes and usually as soon as it begins, it tells me that my TV Show is ready to watch and I can choose to "Play TV Show Now" or "Watch Later." I choose Play TV Show Now. Then after about 20 seconds of watching, and error message comes up with the error code -39. The download stopped and when I resume, it will download for 5 more seconds but then I get another error message with the code -50. I click the Resume button and it won't resume no matter how many times I click it. So I have to go to Music, iTunes, iTunes Media, Downloads, and delete the folder with the name of the TV Show that wouldn't work. Then i open iTunes again and Check for Downloads and it starts over downloading.
The errors only occur when I start playing the TV Show while its downloading. Its fine if I let it download.
How do I fix the errors?

That's not the issue (waiting for the download to complete).  The issue is that the download never ever completes.  The Computer says "Hey, you can watch your show," but then just a few moments have downloaded, and you get a "-50" error.
The published solution for the -50 error is to navigate to the wack place that itunes has decided to store your download (if you can find it) and delete the partial file and try again.
I have "tried again" 5 times now.  It's not working.

  • TS3297 error when downloading from iTunes song from store. sail away says file corrupted, yet continues to repeatedly try to download this song. can't remove it or delete it from iTunes, shows up with an exclamation sign.

It says file corrupted yet continues to attempt to download the file. It is stuck in a loop. I can't seem to delete this file either. i've tried several ways, dragging it to trash (it still appears), hitting the delete buttin on my computer.
Any suggestions as to how to stop the downloading of this corrupted file?
    MC

  • Internal Hard drive dismounts when downloading from iTunes Store?

I am having an issue when I download content from the iTunes Store to my Mac Pro.
I have my Media Library on the second Internal Hard drive (an Hitachi). When I download content after a while -usually half-way through a download or after a few minutes if its large amount to data/content (App updates etc) -the second internal hard drive will dismount. Stopping the download and making the disk inaccessible.
The internal hard drive seems to be fine otherwise. It has plenty of space and I use it as a scratch disk for video editing HD content.
To re-mount the disk, I have to do a complete shut down, remove the hard disk (I check for dust/damage etc) and re-insert and re-start the system. If the systems down not pick up the hard drive the first time I try and again and it usually recognized then. I have tried using an external hard drive as well (not sure what make the hard disk is but its an iomega unit) and the same thing has happened.
As you can imagine this is very annoying. I hve a work around currently where I set-up a tempoary Media Libabry on my system disk and download anythin I want from iTunes and then manually move the content to the second drive-not ideal but it works. I have had this issue for a year- so I have been very patient and hoping it would get resolved through updates-as I am sure there ha to been other people with the same issue.
Can anyone help me identify where the problem is? Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? I am stumped and really not sure where to start.

    Hello Nesquik,
Yes, I did notice it too. A lot of noise when downloading, It sure looks as if there is no buffer or not enough buffer. Going back in history when there was no smartdrive
I hope they can fix it, very annoying. Not only because of the noise, but I also get the feeling that my harddrive must be degrading. If you only could say that you want to download on a different location (choosing the SSD) and afterwards moving to the Media Folder on a normal harddrive.

  • "Part of the file seems to be corrupted" when downloading from iTunes Store

I have suddenly started getting this issue. It has happened once before, but after 2 retries, it worked.
However, this time it refuses to work no matter how many retries, restarts, and reboots...
I have looked up the error it give me on my Downloads section of iTunes (error 8008) and the solution does not work.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
It acts like it can't make a connection to the server, making multiple retrys on the download, then gives me the error.
But, I can connect to the store with no issue...
This is VERY frustrating seeing how I can't see iTunes selling me a corrupt episode of a series I have already bought a season pass for...
I was hoping to watch it this evening, however that looks unlikely now...
    Any help on this issue?

If you've had no joy with that, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • Mission impossible errors when downloading from iTunes

We've been trying to download the latest digital copy of Mission Impossible from iTunes and have had no luck.  It stops downloading and gives an error message (unknown error occurred (-50)) and have received (err - 8008).  We've checked for software updates, rebooted the system and tried again, but nothing.  Any help would be appreciated.

Me too. But mine is odd in that I HAD the file - downloaded on the day it came out, and then watched.  But then it disappeared.  I've emailed Apple support and they've resent the file, but I get the same answer.  They tell me to try again, but itunes seems to think I've already downloaded it.
I got the iTunes extras, but not the movie.
Please let me know if there's any resolution! Thanks.

Feel free to begin with these recommended steps:
Make sure your computer is up-to-date and meets the following requirements
Make sure that you can access the Internet on your computer or device.
Make sure that your computer meets the iTunes minimum system requirements.
Make sure that your operating system is up to date:

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.

My download from itunes store won't play on my ipad at a decent volume.  How do I fix it?
Actually, I suspect the download itself is too low and fuzzy.  How do I reload?

If you are having a problem with a song you downloaded from iTunes, you can report it to an iTunes worker and they will redownload the song for you for free.  Go to the song you bought and find where it says "report a problem".  Click on that, and you can explain your problem to an iTunes worker.

I have suddenly lost the whole of my iTunes library, with the exception of music that I have bought and downloaded from iTunes Store.  It was all there yesterday and I haven't altered anything, as far as I know!  I hope it's something quite simple?
Apologies, but none of the communities listed seems to fit this question - so I'm taking pot luck!

For music that you've purchased from Apple that are on your iPhone you should be able to copy to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Also if you are in the US then you should be able to re-download past music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For your own music that you've copied, then if you haven't got a backup on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work

  • How do i move music from iphone to pc - not all downloaded from itunes store?

how do i move music from iphone to pc - not all downloaded from itunes store?

iTunes includes an option to transfer content that was purchased from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for content that was purchased from the iTunes Store only.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
This is one of the reasons why maintaining a backup of all your important data (including your iTunes library) stored on an external drive used for backup purposes only, or on other media such as CD or DVD is so important.

  • Downloading from iTunes Store freezes Macbook Pro

Whenever I activate a download from iTunes Store (either restart available downloads or try a new one) my computer freezes. No force-quit, no clicking with cursor. Only thing to do is hard restart. Everything is up-to-date (iTunes 8.0.2, Mac OS X 10.5.6) so I don't see that as the problem.
Anyone with similar problems? More importantly, anyone know the fix?

    The solution with me was:
Disconnect your internet connection open Itunes, wait for a minute and then connect again to internet and you will see that know it doesn't freeze, I know it is a really stupid solution but it works with my computer.
After making everything (verify disk, permissions, etc...) this was the only solution.
