I had itunes set up on my laptop and had no issue with it. Today i tried to import a cd but my disc drive wouldnt work so i had to restore my laptop. When i did this my cd drive worked by i couldn't install itunes. I contacted Norton internet security who i spent 2 hours online with while they went through all my internet security settings and they have said it is a problem at apples end. When i attempt to download it just says network failure. Please help!

What browser are you using and have you tried using a different one to dl the file?

Whenever I open itunes (not try and sync), I get a duplicate file name was specified error. It also gives me the same error when I try and download music, saying it cant. I just downloaded itunes so not much could have gone wrong so far.

I DID IT! I FIXED IT, FINALLY!!! At least it worked for me. Here's what I did: from Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features/Uninstall or Change Program, I right-clicked on iTunes and selected Repair. After that ran and completed, I went to Computer/Local Disk (C:)/Program Files. Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again

Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album. These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer. If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices.

I am having the same problem - the install crashes around 40%.
I am using MAC OS 10.10.2 and purchased Acrobat Pro monthly subscription. The error message is:
'Acrobat installer has encountered an unexpected failure. Please try again. If it continues to fail, contact Adobe support.'
I have tried several times but keep getting the same error message. Any ideas?

When i try and download some items i get the error message that that say that the download can't continue because i need a later version of Firefox I have 5.0 currently installed on my PC. one such download was the Google toolbar

I have a dell 320 optiplex 1.80 GHz. as stated above when I try and download certain items i get an error message essentially telling me that my version of Firefox is not compatible with ?(item i'm trying to download) the most recent was Google toolbar. the irony of it all is that I have version 5.0 installed so not unless I miss something when I initially installed Firefox 5.0 would be the latest version

If you don't already have the "Google Toolbar" why would you want it, it is a problematic extension as are most third party toolbars. I would expect that anything that just about anything that you would use it for can be done with a bookmarklet. As for searching, the builtin Firefox search bar is wonderful you can add or create search engines for it.
