  • Error when indexing web repository

I'm working on a problem that I'm having with indexing a web repository. For the sake of this post, we will call the web site that I'm indexing for the repository http://mysite1.com. For the most part, things are working just fine. The problem is that there's a couple of links in one of the pages in http://mysite1.com that aren't getting crawled.
The first link is http://mysite2.com. This link is to a web site that is on our network, but you are normally required to provide a username and password to access it. The message in the crawler error file that's being generated is:
    ERROR     Mar 27, 2009 8:04:02 AM     /webdynamic/mysite2.com     http://mysite2.com/     processing failed     com.sapportals.wcm.repository.AuthorizationRequiredException
I created an HTTP System in the System Landscape Definitions for http://mysite2.com, and here's what it looks like:
    Description:         mysite
    Same User Domain:    <unchecked>
    Max Connections:     0
Password:            <set to the password for the user>
    Server Aliases:      <blank>
    Server URL:          http://mysite2.com
    User:                myuser
I have verified that the username and password that I have configured here are valid. I have also set up a web site definition for this, and here's what it
    looks like:
    Login Timeout:       <blank>
    System ID:           mysite.com
All the rest of the options for the web site are blank.
What else do I need to do to get the crawler to access the content of http://mysite2.com?
The other link that I'm getting errors on is http://mysite3.com. The error in the crawler error file is:
    ERROR     Mar 27, 2009 8:04:01 AM     /webdynamic/mysite3.com     http://mysite3.com/     processing failed     com.sapportals.wcm.repository.TimeExceededException:
request to /: Read timed out
This site is accessible both internally and externally to our network. I'm not sure what I need to do for this. Can anyone help me out with this?
    Thanks!
    -Stephen Spalding

    Hi Esther Schmitz,
Thanks for quick reply. As you said, i have changed website url to http://www.cnn.com.
but still it shows below error messages.
The target of the link TECH you tried to navigate to is not available. Its repository might be disconnected or the target may have been renamed, moved, or deleted. Contact your system administrator if you think the target /CNN/TECH/TECH should be available.
    Thanks,

  • Indexing webdav repository

    Hi,
we have configured windows file share into KM by webdav repository and SSO. Now our requirement is to index these repository documents. As these scenario works as an SSO model, i have created index_service and other service users in ADS.
I am indexing it by assigning datasource as these webdav repository. I have some 8000 documents under this repository. But when the indexing is ove, i could see that only few hundred documents are getting indexed. Other documents failed to get preprocessed. It is throwing error as
    Return Code: 13502
    Return Message: HTTP-Proxy: BadGateway
    Document Status: Preparation Failed
    Action: Index
    Retry Count: 3
What is that i can do to get all the documents indexed ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ganesh N

    Ganesan,
    1) Check if all the documents are visible in KM content iview.
    2) Since you are able to index few documents I guess the problem could be with TREX's limitation. There are few limitation with TREX (it wont index xls with more than 10000 lines, pdf more than 5Mega bytes etc).
    Refer this document,
    http://help.sap.com/bp_epv260/EP_JA/documentation/How-to_Guides/10_TREXRec_en.pdf
    3) Check if you access to those documents on the fileshare (authorization to Read the file)

  • Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

    Hi folks,
I am using a cascaded mapping in my OM. I have a graphical mapping followed by the Java mapping. It is a flat file to IDOC mapping. Everything works fine in Dev but when I transport the same objects to QA, the Operation mapping though it doesn't fail in ESR testing tool, gives the following message and there is no output generated for the same payload which is successfully tested in DEV. Please advise on what could be the possible reasons.
Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

    kalyan,
There seems to be an invalid xml payload which causes this error in ESR not generating the tree view. Please find the similar error screenshot and rectify the payload.

    Hi Rodrigo,
Do you use a specific "encoding" like UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1 in your Sender CC.
Try changing the Transfer mode to Binary instead of Text.

  • Solr errors when indexing custom file extensions.

    Greetings!
I am working on my company's public website and need to be able to index the web pages.  The site is configured to read .ak files as .cfm files, but Soler errors when trying to read them.  While testing I found that if I remove the <head> tags from the documents there are no errors.  I've looked into the Solr config files for a location to tell Solr that .ak files should be parsed as html.  I have been unable to find such a setting, does one exist?
    Thanks for your help,
    Dave

    Hi,
Are you able to manually add new extension to the list?
Try the troubleshooter under “Advanced Options” or rebuild the index for a test.
If doesn’t work, then let’s go deeper for this issue.
    Open registry, expand, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
Under this entry, there should be a bunch of file types, I did a test, if I delete a file type in it, for example .txt, then when I open the index option again, advanced option, file type, I’ll no longer find the txt extension in the list, so you may check
the keys in case the registry is broken.

  • User getting error when creating a new Document Library

The user is getting the following error when trying to create a new Document Library in SharePoint 2010:
    Error
    Cannot complete this action.
    Please try again.
    Correlation ID: 37ecd5eb-6129-4fa3-84bd-c6f0ad8115d5
Has anyone come across this error and know how to resolve it?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the user could not create a document library.
To narrow down whether the issue is related to the user permission, you can check which permission the user has.
You can also assign the user full control to check whether it works.
What’s more, did the issue occur in other sites? You can check with other sites or create a new site to check whether it works. Maybe the site has been corrupted.
To quickly and accurately find the issue, I recommend you can check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS
You can check the ULS log by the methods here:

  • Error when email enabling a document library

Hi - I've checked through other threads re errors when email enabling a doc library, but our scenario is a bit different. We have some custom code that creates sites based on a site template and uses data from a 3rd party system to define the site
name, permissions etc. I don't think that the process for creating the sites is relevant to the issue, but mentioning that anyway to be complete. As part of the site creation workflow, one of the document libraries is email enabled. However, on one specific
site, the document library was not email enabled. When I try and do this manually, I get the following error:
    Error in the application.   at
    Microsoft.SharePoint.SPList.UpdateDirectoryManagementService(String oldAlias,
    String newAlias)
       at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPList.Update(Boolean
    bFromMigration)
       at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPList.Update()
       at
    Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.EmailSettingsPage.SubmitButton_Click(Object
    sender, EventArgs args)

    System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)

    System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument)
       at System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(IPostBackEventHandler
    sourceControl, String eventArgument)
       at
    System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint,
    Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)
    Other tests/observations:
On the problem site, I get the same error when trying to email enable other document libraries
Other sites on the same site collection have been created using the same process/site template, and the appropriate document library was email enabled automatically (sites created both before and subsequent to this problem site)
I have successfully managed to manually email enable a document library on an different existing site
I have manually created a new site using the same site template and successfully managed to manually email enable a document library on that site
So I am fairly certain that it is nothing to do with permissions as other posts relating to this issue have suggested. Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening, how to resolve or further checks I can make? Many thanks

    Hi qaaweb,
based on my experience, the issue itself may be caused by some triggers,
the permission is one of them only,
to narrow down usually, we try to update credential first, that at some environment may less impact.
    example:
based on: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262947.aspx, to configure email, if already configured then skip.
make sure that application pool account that is used for central admin to be the same for central admin, site and the web application.
make sure SQL server and granted DBCreator , Serveradmin, Setupadmin on service account.
    remove old database and sync:
    C:\program files\common files\Microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\bin>stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases 0
    C:\program files\common files\Microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\bin>stsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases 0
    Update farm credentials, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838
if needed: central administration > Operation > Authentication provider and changed Kerberos to NTLM on central admin site.
Login service account on the SharePoint server and enable IncomingEmail settings on the web application
please let us know if the workaround is not applicable

  • WIS 30902 Error when opening a webi document from Rich client

    Hi ,
When I try to open a webi document from local folder or import from CMS in Webi Rich client, I get the following error message.
"An error occured while checking the document security. (WIS 30902)"
Has any one come across this issue?
    Thanks,
    KartheeK

In our case, we could initialize Webi Rich Client (Webi RC) successfully , but later we found that any disruption in Webi RC client connection will corrupt the client ..\LocData files used by client to dock to the CMS, causing WIS 30902 error.
At first we thought just deleting the ..\LocData Client .lsi files fixed it. Unfortunately, there are a collection of files and folders in ..\Loc Data involved in the authentication. We already found that complete deinstall of Webi RC didn't work. Now we know the problem is in the \My Business Objects Documents\LocData values.  Deinstall of Webi RC does not delete them.
It sounds scary, but isn't. The Webi RC will download the refreshed files it needs automatically from the CMS. However, it won't overwrite the old bad ones, and you have to do that manually.
    Solution.
    1. Logout of Webi RC. Make sure it is not running in taskmgr.
    2. Go to the client ..\My Business Objects Documents\LocData folder.
    3. Delete all the files and folders, or rename by adding .bak extension.
    4. Logon with Webi RC
    5. Corrupt files will now be resynchronized to CMS

  • Errors when indexing websites

    Hi.
We experience an error (401 unauthorized access) when indexing websites from our productive portal environment.
The strange thing is that the websites are open (they do not require user authentication) and we do not get any errors indexing the same websites from our DEV and QA environments.
Portal version is NW04 SP11 and TREX version is 6.1.11.
Any ideas about what could be wrong?
    BR Søren

    Hi Soren,
    1. Did you specify any specific permissions when creating the index.
ie. When setting the data source etc. for an index, we also have the facility to set permissions as regards who should access and who shouldnot access.
    2. You can check the Index Administrator tool for this particular index for the specific error.
