  • Timeout error when submitting feedburner podcast feed to itunes

This is my first time submitting my podcast to itunes, I have created the feed with feedburner and I can manually subscribe and download the podcast in itunes however when i try to submit the feed I recieve the generic timout error, see below. I have tried for several days with different machines to no avail. Any suggestions?
    Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThePortcast
    Thanks in advance.

The feed appears to be OK; sometimes individual servers can behave oddly with the Store but as yours is a Feedburner feed there shouldn't be any problem, so there is no obvious reason why this is happening.
You could try the allternative submission URL:
    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
If that doesn't work one possibility is that there is a problem at the Store end, which does happen though it doesn't usually go on for several days. You could try emailing support at podcasts 'at' apple.com but I have to say that you likely won't get a helpful answer. Otherwise I can only suggest giving it a day or two and trying again.

  • TS1424 error when submitting a podcast rss: byte-range requests

Hi when I submit rss feeds now I'm getting an error message that we need to enable byte-range requests.
    I saw this article:
    http://theaudacitytopodcast.com/itunes-changes-podcast-specs-and-features/
saying that " iTunes now requires all hosting servers to enable Byte Range Requests"
my podcast mp3 is hosted in CDN that, as I've checked, supports range requests.
but my rss feed contains urls that first return a redirect, to the real url (where range requests are supported)
could this be a problem? are redirects on episode urls supported (they were until now)? should I modify the redirect response somehow to indicate that range requests are supported on the target server (I thought that shouldn't be necessary)?
take this as a feed example: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/djsqwyd.rss
    Thanks in advance,

  • Getting "Read timed out" error when submitting new podcast

    http://www.therpghaven.com/podcast/?feed=podcast
My feed is validated. I've checked it against the example feed and it seems fine. I can subscribe directly from within iTunes and it looks fine, downloads the first episode.
I saw that there was maintenance last night. Is it possible this isn't my fault?
If it is, any clues would be a great help!
    Thanks

I'm using WordPress with the Podcasting plug-in, which I have admin access to. That's what generates the feed. But according to the developers, the feed is not actually a file, but something dynamically generated by WordPress when it is called. When you say "actual file" do you mean the podcast itself? Or the feed?
I'm not familiar with WordPress: possibly what they mean is that a process takes place on the server each time a request is received for the feed: if this is so then you can't change that. By 'actual file' I did mean the feed - most systems produce an .xml file and it is that which is submitted to iTunes.
As to log-in, normally the iTunes Store effectively keeps you logged in: I assume you would need to have cookies enabled - is this the case?

  • ITunes returning 404 error when submitting working podcast feed

I am trying to submit a podcast to the iTunes Directory but iTunes is returning a "bad http result code:404" error. This is a known good feed verified by both feedvalidator.org and iTunes U. Feedvalidator shows an encoding error ("utf-8" vs. "US-ASCII"), but otherwise has no problem. Feed is here: http://itunesmedia.seu.edu/Chapel/2013_Chapel/rss.xml. Thanks.

No obvious answer here. The feed looks fine and can be subscribed to manually in Tunes perfectly well.
The encoding error you mention occurs a lot and doesn't normally seem to cause any problems. Error 404 is 'file not found'.
We have seen cases where perfectly good feeds couldn't be read by the Store: I've never seen an expanation, and my guess - and I emphasize it is a guess - is that the server is for some reason not responding to requests from the Store when it does to all other requests.
You could start by leaving it for a bit and trying again in case it's some sort of temporary glitch. If it still doesn't work I can only suggest you ask the people running your server if they can check the server logs for when this happened.

  • Error when submitting a podcast to iTunes

    We get the following error:
"Podcast cover art must be at least 600 x 600 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests".
We validated the feed and tested in iTunes and the podcasts work.
Here is the path for our xml feed: http://positivecoach.org/common/cms/documents/Podcast%20XMLs/PCA_1-on-1.xml
Here is the path for our image: http://www.positivecoach.org/common/cms/images/Logos/PCA_1on1_square_160px_yello w.jpg
We are stumped on how to fix.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Your image is only 160 x 160 and so doesn't even meet the standard specified in the error message: however that message needs amending because Apple are now making 1400 x 1400 px mandatory. So your image needs to be that size, and must be a JPG or PNG and less than 500 kB.

  • Error when submitting responses

Some respondents receive an error when submitting survey results.  Could there be a timing issue with the server if many responses are coming in at the same time?  Or could the error be caused at the senders location?

we are trying to catch it.  It flashes quickly before results are submitted (via iPad) and communication is ended.  It may be a timing issue.  Let me look into this further.  Could be the user too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello
I get the following error - "*There was an internal error when submitting the form*" - when i allocate a Retention Disposition to a Retention Category.
Any Ideas how this can be solved?
    Thank you

Not based on the minimal information provided.
Error messages in 11g, from a UI standpoint, are severely deficient. How about looking in the content server logs and posting some more information?

  • Symbol error when submitting form

experiencing a symbol error when submitting form.

    Hi Gen,
Unfortunately, the error came from a client who was submitting a form via Mac OS.  He stated that when he attempted to submit he received a symbol error.
On another note, I did experience issues with periods (.) within another form such as 2009.01 and 2011.25.  When I downloaded the files corresponding to the numbers, it wouldn’t allow me to save it with the period (used an underscore instead).

  • Error when submitting job to Qmaster cluster

    Hi all,
I'm new to working with the Qmaster cluster but I created a cluster (at least I think I did it right) using the distributed processing apple document from the help menu. Everything looks right...I have an active cluster with two machines. What is a little weird is that the Cluster that I can choose in Compressor when submitting a job has a format like "ThisComputer.RScomputer.local:50411" instead of the name of the cluster I made (I called it Zeus Cluster).
So, I choose this long cluster name and submit the job but I get this error:
Error: An internal error occurred: NSException raised by 'NSPortTimeoutException', reason = '[NSPortCoder sendBeforeTime:sendReplyPort:] timed out'.
Has anyone seen this error. What could I be doing wrong? Apple Qadministrator has the Cluster active and both machines are sharing fine.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Have you looked in the /Library/Logs/Qmaster for any specific detail? (use /applications/utilities/console.app )
there's usually some detail in there that will give you an insight. If you see smething in there of significance, by all means post it here so w can examine and suggest to you.
I have had his before, and in my case is related to the cluster setup I had.

    Hi Diego,
Thanks a lot for your quick response! Sorry for the delay in responding; I was travelling.
Uploading the new files from the Note you mentioned allowed us to view what the actual errors were; but we've started running into new errors now; when looking at the operation logs for VDS, I see that the webservice actually returns an operation result of SUCCESS also quoting that "Finished add operation"; which is why the request does in fact get created in CUP but a couple of log entries later after the webservice returns the request number I encounter the following error within VDS:
Exception in GRC WS API call:oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

MOSS StateService threw an exception: A Microsoft SharePoint Server State Service error occurred while processing your request. For more information, contact your server farm administrator.
I deleted the State Service and recreated it twice, once with PowerShell and then with the Farm Configuration wizard. Restarted the server. Problem might come from InfoPath Forms Services tho but I don't what else I can do.
    Does anyone have any clue??

    Hi,
We had the same problem with InfoPath.
After analysis of servers,it turns out that
the anonymous user authentication has been enabled on
    the web application server
via IIS and not via SharePoint
    (unsupported configuration), causing
    side-effects on some queries which
    calls to forms.
    We disabled anonymous access.This desactivation
causes the functioning of forms again.
    Rachid.
