Error when submitting job to Qmaster cluster

Hi all,
I'm new to working with the Qmaster cluster but I created a cluster (at least I think I did it right) using the distributed processing apple document from the help menu. Everything looks right...I have an active cluster with two machines. What is a little weird is that the Cluster that I can choose in Compressor when submitting a job has a format like "ThisComputer.RScomputer.local:50411" instead of the name of the cluster I made (I called it Zeus Cluster).
So, I choose this long cluster name and submit the job but I get this error:
Error: An internal error occurred: NSException raised by 'NSPortTimeoutException', reason = '[NSPortCoder sendBeforeTime:sendReplyPort:] timed out'.
Has anyone seen this error. What could I be doing wrong? Apple Qadministrator has the Cluster active and both machines are sharing fine.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Have you looked in the /Library/Logs/Qmaster for any specific detail? (use /applications/utilities/console.app )
there's usually some detail in there that will give you an insight. If you see smething in there of significance, by all means post it here so w can examine and suggest to you.
I have had his before, and in my case is related to the cluster setup I had.

  • Error when submitting responses

Some respondents receive an error when submitting survey results.  Could there be a timing issue with the server if many responses are coming in at the same time?  Or could the error be caused at the senders location?

we are trying to catch it.  It flashes quickly before results are submitted (via iPad) and communication is ended.  It may be a timing issue.  Let me look into this further.  Could be the user too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not based on the minimal information provided.
Error messages in 11g, from a UI standpoint, are severely deficient. How about looking in the content server logs and posting some more information?

  • Symbol error when submitting form

experiencing a symbol error when submitting form.

    Hi Gen,
Unfortunately, the error came from a client who was submitting a form via Mac OS.  He stated that when he attempted to submit he received a symbol error.
On another note, I did experience issues with periods (.) within another form such as 2009.01 and 2011.25.  When I downloaded the files corresponding to the numbers, it wouldn’t allow me to save it with the period (used an underscore instead).

  • Problems with in/out points when submitting jobs via Terminal/command-line

I've writting a GUI based script which allows a user to select a source Quicktime file, and will encode that file to multiple formats, and trims each destination based on specific timecode in/out points. However, I'm having problems getting the Compressor command-line interface to honor the in/out timecodes that I've explicitly set for multiple jobs within a single commandline.
In other words, if I want to encode a source Quicktime between 01:00:00:00 and 01:00:29:23 with just ONE setting/destination, then the following commandline works:
    /Applications/Final\ Cut\ Studio/Compressor.app/Contents/MacOS/Compressor -clustername MHM -batchname CLI_BATCH -jobpath /Volumes/mel/temp/20120329/TEST_SRC.mov  -settingpath /Volumes/common/settings/compressor/M9_Slave/_Local_/OTWC.setting -destinationpath /Volumes/mel/temp/20120329/TEST1234_Testing30_OTWC.mov -in 01000000 -out 01002923
But if I try to append multiple settings/destinations to the commandline, Compressor will only honor the -in/-out arguments which appear in the LAST -jobpath instance in the commandline.
For example, the following commandline will properly encode the file to multiple destination files, using the appropriate .settings file, but it ignores the -in/-out points that were set for any -jobpath instance that appears before the last -jobpath instance (in other words, every file is output using 00:59:57:00/01:00:30:01 as the in/out points, instead of having the "*_OTWC.mov" file output using 01:00:00:00 as the in point)
    /Applications/Final\ Cut\ Studio/Compressor.app/Contents/MacOS/Compressor -clustername MHM -batchname CLI_BATCH -jobpath /Volumes/mel/temp/20120329/TEST_SRC.mov  -settingpath /Volumes/common/settings/compressor/M9_Slave/_Local_/OTWC.setting -destinationpath /Volumes/mel/temp/20120329/TEST1234_Testing30_OTWC.mov -in 01000000 -out 01002923 -jobpath /Volumes/mel/temp/20120329/TEST_SRC.mov -settingpath /Volumes/common/settings/compressor/M9_Slave/_Local_/HNN-HD.setting -destinationpath /Volumes/mel/temp/20120329/TEST1234_Testing30_HNN-HD.mov -in 00595700 -out 01003001
It's wierd that everything else about this command-line syntax works as expected (and as explicitly stated in the Compressor -help output, which says "when submitting individual source files. (The) Following parameters are repeated to enter multiple job targets in a batch"), except for the -in/-out points.
I've even tried quoting the -in/-out arguments using colons (e.g., -in "01:00:00;00") , but this doesnt appear to change the behavior.
Is this a bug, or am I missing something here?

  • Error when adding a disk to Cluster Shared Volumes

When adding a disk to Cluster Shared Volumes via Failover Cluster Manager, I get a couple of errors.
Event ID 5145 in System Log:
While adding the disk ('Cluster Disk 1') to Cluster Shared Volumes, setting explicit snapshot diff area association for volume ('\\?\Volume{420e2cc4-4fb4-41be-afb1-65f2ee62457a}\') failed with error 'HrError(0x8004230d)'. The only supported software snapshot
diff area association for Cluster Shared Volumes is to self.
Cluster disk resource 'Cluster Disk 1' failed to delete a software snapshot.  The diff area on volume '\\?\Volume{420e2cc4-4fb4-41be-afb1-65f2ee62457a}\' could not be dissociated from volume '\\?\Volume{420e2cc4-4fb4-41be-afb1-65f2ee62457a}\'. This
may be caused by active snapshots. Cluster Shared Volumes requires that the software snapshot be located on the same disk.
Any ideas why I'm getting this error?  This disk was previously added as a CSV to different Windows failover cluster, if that matters.  Thanks.

    Hi,
As the disk was previously used as a CSV, I assume there is still data on it.
Please check if any VSS snapshot created on that disk. If so, delete them and re-add it as a CSV to see the result - a quick way is to backup important files and perform a re-format if you cannot confirm.

    Hi Diego,
Thanks a lot for your quick response! Sorry for the delay in responding; I was travelling.
Uploading the new files from the Note you mentioned allowed us to view what the actual errors were; but we've started running into new errors now; when looking at the operation logs for VDS, I see that the webservice actually returns an operation result of SUCCESS also quoting that "Finished add operation"; which is why the request does in fact get created in CUP but a couple of log entries later after the webservice returns the request number I encounter the following error within VDS:
Exception in GRC WS API call:oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
Here's the error found in sequence within a set of other operational log messages within VDS:

It's the strangest thing, because it seems to send the request across successfully which is how the request is getting created in CUP but after it succeeds it encounters the exception with the GRC WebService call from the API; any ideas why this is happening? how can we possibly fix this?
Would greatly appreciate any insight / advice on this!

  • State service error when submitting InfoPath form to Library

I have a problem and looks like Google couldn't help me.. I really hope someone here will be able to.
I have a Form Library using a custom form. When submitting the form to the library, users are getting this error. I don't get the error with my own user, only difference is I have full access to the farm and content using web app policy.

I deleted the State Service and recreated it twice, once with PowerShell and then with the Farm Configuration wizard. Restarted the server. Problem might come from InfoPath Forms Services tho but I don't what else I can do.
    Does anyone have any clue??
JP Berube | MCTS SharePoint 2010 Configuration and Application Development

    Hi,
We had the same problem with InfoPath.
After analysis of servers,it turns out that
the anonymous user authentication has been enabled on
    the web application server
via IIS and not via SharePoint
    (unsupported configuration), causing
    side-effects on some queries which
    calls to forms.
    We disabled anonymous access.This desactivation
causes the functioning of forms again.

  • LaunchFCP error when submitting content for Approval

I'm getting a 'Delivery Validation' error while submitting content for approval.
    Screenshot of error.
Where can I find the logs to debug issue's like this failures.

LaunchFCP refers to sending a proof. When you Submit Content for Approval, Adobe Campaign sends out a Proof to the proof target and sends a Validation Request to the Content Reviewer.
You can Open a delivery to view the error details on the Summary page. The proof does not appear on the Campaign dashboard, but you can go to the Deliveries folder under Campaign Management (default location) to see deliveries and their proofs. Proofs are a copy of the original delivery with [Proof n] in the subject line.
Generally, don't delete campaign configurations. For some configurations, when you delete them they are moved to an archive folder. For example, if I look in the Deleted deliveries folder, I can see some proofs and e-mails that you deleted. The reason your proof failed appears to be because of a missing subject line. There is a rule in Adobe Campaign that checks for this.
    Hope this helps!

  • Internal error when Internal job posted

    Dear all,
We are getting Internal error when employee applies for internal job posting. In E-rec -> employee page-> Apply Directly page, after selecting the requisition when application is posted via send application button, ESS gives error message that
Intenal error occured. Please try again later.
I have checked the SLG1 Log and founc following errors:
    Serious error; see log
The error occurred in program CL_HRRCF_POSTING_INST_BL======CM009 line 55
GUID 4DAE37B6BB4400CAE10080000A3C019A is not linked to any posting instance
The error occurred in program CL_HRRCF_POSTING_INSTANCE=====CM00Y line 47
It seems job posting is not done properly. I hve checked the application status and it has Draft status. It should be posted.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Mihir.

    Dear Deepak,
The issue is, I am not able to post the job. As a result job remains in draft status. So job status can not be released.
I analyzed the issue further and found that this issue is encountered for old users which were present before E-rec gone live.
We have maintained necessary BP, CP, NA objects for these users. But issue is present only in Internal job posting.
Users created after E-rec live does not face this issue.
Is there any perticular table where entries are missing for old employees?
We are having the E-rec system on the same server and BADI HRSYNC_P is activated.
    Regards,

  • Unexpected Error when submitting Claim Code

Hi there. I have tried all instructions on HP site to link printer for HP ePrint. However, when submitting Claim Code I get the message 'Unexpected Error'. Can someone help?.Thank you.

Hi , Thanks for posting in the HP Forums, and welcome!  I'd like to help you with the "unexpected error" message you are getting when attempting to submit the claim code for your HP Laserjet Pro M125nw. Are you getting this error message on the HP Connected website when attempting to add your printer? If so try these steps to resolve the issue. Open the HP Connected website in another browser. (For example: if you are using Internet Explorer, try Google Chrome, or FireFox) Remove and re-enable web services on your device to generate a new claim code: Check your printer's IP address.Enter the IP into the address bar of your browser.Select the HP Web Services tab at the top.Select remove web services on the left hand menu.Once web services are removed, click on setup or enable to turn them back on. A new claim code should print. If you are getting the error message when attempting to enable the web services on the printer, try the following steps to resolve the message. Firstly, do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protectorIf that doesn't immediately resolve the issue, I'd recommend downloading the most recent firmware update for your printer here - HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/M126 Series Firmware Update(NOTE: Make sure the printer is USB connected before running the firmware update utility, as any interruption during the update can cause serious issues) Please respond to let me know if we have resolved this issue!
