Error when syncing music with iphone 3g and itunes

Does anyone know how to fix the "unknown error -69" when trying to sync iphone 3g and itunes. I have plenty of memory but certain songs will error and then all others after that one errors. So annoying can any one help?

A couple of things that might help out.
Open computer management by clicking on start and right clicking on my computer, then choose manage.
When the computer management window opens, expand services and applications on the left.
Click on services and see if Apple Mobile Device is running on the right.
If it is not running, or is not set to automatic, try starting it.
Also if apple mobile devise is not installed or will not start, this article might help out uninstalling and reinstalling itunes.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US
If the apple mobile device is installed and will just not start, try uninstalling your security software.
Once uninstalled, restart your computer.
Once the computer is restarted, open computer management to see if apple mobile device will start.
Hope this helps.

Itunes does not allow me to sync music with iphone?

Have a similar issue.  Have iphone 4 running ios7.  itunes 11.1.3.8.  Probably is intermittent (once every 2 weeks?) and persistent.   Syncs fine for days.  Then all at once playlists are not updated.   For example; over the holidays I added some holiday songs to a playlist.  Today I removed the holiday songs from the playlist in itunes.  Sync the phone.  All messages indicate sync is successful.  Songs still in playlist on the phone!  Continues to happen over multiple syncs.  In the past I have had some songs update but not all songs.  This cycle of attempting syncing continues until other songs on the iphone 'disappear' (they are listed in playlists but don't play!).   Don't know the cause but it is very annoying and unpredictable.   Eventually taking all music off the iphone and then adding it back works but even this take multiple iterations.   These issues seem to have started after upgrading to ios7.  I have workarounds that are very timeconsuming.  I'm interested in solutions to the root cause.  Can anyone help?

  • Unable to sync music with iphone 5. can some one pl assist ?

I have tried everything to sync music with iphone 5 withut success. any ideas ?? what could be the problem ?

First of all, read my post to OP
You can only sync music via computer iTunes.
Watch this iPod video, it's the same for iPhone.
    Your Post
Not true. You CAN sync music via Wifi.
Did I mention anything about cable? So what is not true?

    What about that?
To do that you also first have to connect using a cable to set it up in computer iTunes.

  • Runtime error when syncing P1i with PC

I get a runtime error when syncing my P1i to PC. The error is linked with this file, 'dxp syncml.exe', and the application is said to request the 'Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way'. How do you fix this?

Thanks Joanne. Let me give you feedback on whats happening so far.
After some doing, I discovered that my firewall is controlled by Norton Firewall Provider. (Bear in mind I am a novice in terms of managing these computer protocols). To modify the firewall settings, Norton calls this in their the control panel  'Smart firewall', I go to program control then configure. A list of programs came up with the options to add, modify, remove or rename. I searched the list and found that DXP SyncML.exe and mRouterRuntime.exe were listed and set to 'Auto' in the Access column. I noticed that under access, the options include auto, allow, block and custom. I reasoned that 'allow' is the highest level of access, and to support the sync feature, I changed the status to 'allow' from 'auto' for the DXP SyncML and mRouterRuntime executable files. If you believe it is ok and safer to keep the auto status, advise me.
I did not find in the listing any of these programs; Bearer Abstraction Layer (SCBAL.exe), Generic Device Management Executable (Generic.exe) or Symbian Connect Object Model for Symbian Connect QI (SymbianConnectRuntime.exe).I did a search and located the generic.exe and the other two files under 'common files' in 'teleca shared' folder, and 'symbian' in 'shared' and 'symbianconnectruntime', respectively.
Norton's control panel for Smart Firewall gave me three options when adding programs: allow, block and manual configure internet settings. The last of the three was recommended by Norton. However, I selected 'allow' for the generic.exe, symbianconnectruntim.exe and scba.exe.Please advise if you believe I need to modify the terms I entered to set up this procedure (is there a better setting that allow me to achieve the same level of functionality without compromising my security?)
Now Joanne, whats left is for me to try the sync after making these changes. I feel as if I accomplished a lot by only reaching this far. I will have to do a reinstallation of the SE PC Suite before moving on though. Let me explain.
When the sync failed repatedly because of the unexpected termination linked with the dxp syncml.exe, I uninstalled the SE PC Suite which was done from a disc, and installed a version from the Sony website. That version is 1.6.0, with a copyright date of 2006. With this, the sync worked. By the way I am using Windows 7 Starter. Now what I am going to do later is uninstall this version of the suite, and reinstall the one from the disc that was linked with the problem we are solving. When I do that later, I will give you feedback.
Just in case you are wondering, I have a vested interest in using the PC Suite from the disc. This application works fine for the file manager component where the drive on the phone and removable media card are read. In the 1.6.0 version, I cannot get the file manager to see the phone as connected though when I put the card (is that called M2 disc?) in the phone, it reads. So, I although sync is working with the 1.6.0 version from the website, I want to use the version I have on disc if the sync component gets over the problem we are trying to solve.
Hope I am on the right  track so far I thank you profusely for your patience and dealing with my qeurry; the solution will make a world of a difference for me and many other P1i owners. Look foward to the follow up

  • We have a 3rd generation iPod nano which we have forgotten the password to.  How do I reset it to factory settings so I can sync it with our iMac and iTunes?

How do I reset our iPod nano 3rd generation to factory specs so we can sync it to our iMac and iTunes?  We have forgotten the password and have given up on the guessing game after too many attempts.  I have been through the support, tried trouble shooting, but it doesn't seem to sink in...  What is the "simple" way to get our nano back for a new set up?

I should add that I have tried the online on how to restore but it says it has to be through iTunes and iTunes doesn't even recognize the iPod at this point. The iPod is an iPod 2 classic I believe.

  • ITunes gives unknown error (-50) when syncing songs with iPhone

I recently ripped a few mp3 files to my library and started up iTunes to sync them with my iPhone. If I recall correctly, this prompted me to upgrade to 9.2 of iTunes.
Everything synced perfectly - apps, photos, excpet for the new songs I had ripped - I got the unknown error (-50) syncing the new songs. This puzzled me as I followed the exact same process as I had when ripping all the other songs in the library.
I then removed an existing song from my iPhone, and tried the sync again, and now THAT song also failed to sync. Thus - it sure does not look like a problem with my mp3 files, but some sort of problem with iTunes.
I found this article which was very similar, but ended up being only specific songs:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1539
I followed all the steps there, but have yet to achieve success. I have also followed every iTunes upgrade since I started - I am currently at 9.2.1.5.
I also have an iPod Touch, and it experiences the same symptoms, thus once again pointing to iTunes not the device. I even went through the process of restoring my Touch to factory settings, and that did not help. I even upgraded my Touch to 4.0, still no change. With this restore to factory settings, all the music on my Touch was wiped out, and unfortunately now NONE of my songs sync - which includes the almost 300 other songs that were synced perfectly fine before I did the restore.
After the restore - photos, videos, etc. all synced fine - it is just music that has this problem. I do not suspect my USB connection as a result (some of my videos are very large) I have over 10GB free on my 1 GB Touch, and much more than that on my 32 GB iPhone.
I am really stuck here - everything else is working but I can not get any new songs, and I am afraid of doing too much more in case I lose the songs I already have.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    Brent.

I just wanted to add that I have updated to iTunes 10, and this problem still exists.

  • ITunes error -69 when syncing music to iPhone 6+

Windows 8.1, iTunes 12.0.1.26. Factory reset iPhone. Restored iPhone from known good backup. Now trying to get all my music onto the iPhone. iTunes stops in the middle of the sync with this message: "iTunes could not copy [track info] to [iPhone 6+] because an unknown error occurred (-69).
I factory reset iPhone after failure, tried again. iTunes still failed, reporting the same error, but in a different place during the sync.

I stopped using iCloud and started to sync everything to my MacBook Pro. I had also done a restore just to make sure it was being ungunked. Everything works perfectly now. I'm back to using my laptop iTunes for backing up my iPhone 4S

  • ITunes (unknown error -54) when syncing music to iPhone 4s. Help!

I just got a 64 GB iPhone 4s and I'm having trouble syncing my music library. A few artist into syncing and get an error message saying a certain song could not sync (unknown error -54). Then the rest of my library does not sync to my iPhone. I deleted all the songs that made it into my iPhone and I tried syncing my library again. I got the same unknown error -54 message again but it's another song that won't sync. The funny thing is that the previous song that wouldn't sync made it into my iPhone. Because of that I think it's an iTunes problem and not the file. Please help! Very frustrating!

I stopped using iCloud and started to sync everything to my MacBook Pro. I had also done a restore just to make sure it was being ungunked. Everything works perfectly now. I'm back to using my laptop iTunes for backing up my iPhone 4S

  • ITunes crashes when I sync music with iphone.

I use OS X Lion, iTunes 10.4 and iphones iOS 4.3.3. I've upgraded both iTunes and Iphone but nothing helps. I can sync everything but music. What's worse; when my iphone is connected it says that my music IS synced, but my Iphone says that there is no music on it. What to do?

Wow, I just deleted my playlist that I had and that fixed the problem..

  • ITunes not syncing music with iPhone 5

    Hi
I just connected my iPhone 5 to my iMac to sync up and when it was finished there was no music on my iPhone. I have tried resyncing music but it just doesn't appear on the phone. I have tried deselecting and selecting "Sync Music", I've tried selecting "Selected playlists etc" only, nothing seems to work. Yet when I click on "On this iPhone" in iTunes all music and playlists are there. All my apps, contacts and photos are still there though, theres been no problem with them.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can fix this?
I am using iTunes 11.0.1 and iOS 6.0.2 on an iMac running OS X 10.8.2
    Thanks,
    Emma

Disable your firewall and then try. Once synching begins, then enable your firewall. Simple.

  • Problems syncing music with iPhone

I have an iPhone 5, 64GB running iOS 7.0.4.  Problems with syncing music.  Please read all
For a while now I have been experiencing some difficulty with my music on my iPhone.  There were a few purchased songs and some non-purchased songs (from CDs etc) that weren't going on my iPhone when syncing.
So tonight I tried to fix this and I selected to not sync all music (so all the songs could be removed from my phone) and then re-sync it all.  This gave me a problem as it said 124 of my songs were not copied (these song files are definitely not corrupt or anything, they were on my phone before I synced this evening).  So I tried to do the whole sync once again but I don't know what has happened this second time...
My phone is now showing 20GB of 'Other' data (this wasn't on there before).  I cannot add hardly any of my music as apparently my phone has no space left (I can assure you less than 2 horus ago I had about 28GB of free space, and that was when I had my 28GB of music already on my phone!).
So yet again I try to re-sync my music (when I do this I tick/untick the 'Sync Music' checkbox in the Music tab of my iPhone in iTunes).  I want to try and remove all the songs and then re-add them again.  But I cannot remove the songs.  There are 5 songs (I purchased these songs from iTunes store on my Mac) that will not delete from my phone.  I delete them manually on my phone but as soon as I sync my phone (even with the Sync Music box UNticked) they go straight back on there!
I'm normally quite good with this stuff but I'm at a complete loss.  It has been stressing me out for the past 2 hours and now it's worn me down I just have nowhere else to turn.
    1) How can I remove those 5 stubborn songs from my iPhone?  Perhaps answers to later questions means I might not have to do this but I'm a little OCD and knowing that there are these 5 songs that for no reason won't remove themselves off my phone is annoying.
    2) How can I check or fix the 20GB of Other data?  There is definitely nothing there.
    3) How do I re-sync all my music?  I have 4268 songs but when I tried to re-sync the first time only 4125 went on.  The rest didn't but I don't know why.  The files are fine, they were legally purchased etc.  In fact I have one album with 100 songs, only 4 of them were synced that time.  Randomly 96 of them had no space to sync?  Why would only some of them go on my phone?
    4) Any help whatsoever!  I'm at a loss of what to do   This has troubled me ever since 7.0.3.

If I restore as new will all my music, contacts, apps, message history, etc be deleted?
Okay before I try that I had one more go at syncing...
I went to settings and usage and deleted my music that way.  I re-synced my phone, all my music went on except that the first 49 songs, under Song List, all play the same song.  When you click on any of the first 49 songs in the song list they all play the same song (not the song they should be playing).  I deleted this one song off my iTunes but it has had no effect.  When I uncheck sync all songs then my Music shows No Content (which sounds good).  But when I re-sync, all my music goes on (apparently) but I have these 49 copies of this one song that shouldn't be on there.  The file is even no longer in my iTunes Media folder on my Mac.  I guess there must be something corrupt on my phone, although I'm not sure how it has occured.

  • ITunes 11 sync problems with iPhone 5 and ios 7

I just installed itunes 11 and it iTunes will no longer sync with my iPhone 5.  It would say that it was syncing and then the new files would not be transferred.  I uninstalled and re-installed.  All of my files were present in iTunes.  I would try to sync again and now it tells me I need 500 MB of space to complete the sync  I am only trying to sync 9 new songs.  No way its 500 MB.  Besides the bar at the bottom of itunes says I have 3.2 GB of space.  Is anyone else having trouble with the new iTunes?

Ok folks .. here is the solution that has finally worked for me.  After spending over 45 days on and off the phone with Apple support, this is the work around solution for the ibooks.
Set your IPAD as new and go through that whole set up process.  Plug in your device so it can communicate with iTunes.  When you load your books from iTunes to the IPAD do not synic the first time.  You will have to drag and drop from iTunes the books/music you want loaded.  After you manually do this, the synic seems to work fine.
Also things I have found.  By dragging and dropping the volume of books I have.  It took less time to load on my IPAD then it did trying to synic and waiting over 24 hours to load in IPAD (at which time you can't touch your device).  It was during this huge file load that the Ibooks App/iTunes/Cloud and whatever other Apple software all talk, that the books being loaded start to go squirrely and go into limbo.
Here is the problem.  When you get the message "waiting for files to copy", itunes and your device are having an issue.  So files that iTunes thinks it has copied over, actually go into limbo and sit there greyed out and won't work on your device.  When you try to re-synic again, iTunes says "hey!  I have already copied these over" and will sit there on "waiting for files to copy".
A way to fix the files that are in limbo, delete your app and re-download it.  The files that moved over from iTunes to your device will still be there, however, the files that are in limbo will disappear.  This should stop the synic issue ... or it will identify that there are issues with some of your files.
Is this a great fix ... nope!   I pushed and pushed to be allowed to talk with someone from DEV and got stonewalled.  I even brought in their Customer Support from Corp Head office and got absolutely no where.
BOTTOM LINE:  iTunes and your devices can not handle a huge transfer of files from iTunes to the device and it creates this limbo "waiting for files to be copied".  I find this ironic, because I have never had this problem when it comes to my music (transfering from iTunes to my IPOD), however, I haven't synic that device in awhile, guess i am scared it will do the same crap.
I also got Apple to acknowledge that when they test out their new software upgrades and devices that they ONLY test with iTunes Store only products (ie: music/books/apps).  Infact, Apple DOES NOT test any outside source materials.  I found this rather pathethically sad, since 99.9% of the users of any devices get their music/books from sources OTHER then the Apple Store.  This means that a file that USED to work for you (example: a song) and was loaded on your device fine before all these software upgrades in Nov/2013 might not work anymore because of a change they have made in their software.
Last conversation I had with Apple (both Support and Customer Service) was them telling me that DEV was looking into the problem but did not have an ETA on when a fix would happen.
Also keep in mind, I found that even with a 128kg AIR, it doesn't like to hang alot of books.   I found that at around 3k in books, the device starts to freeze up.  This contradicts the Apple concept, that the device can hold as many songs/books as you want, until you reach the max room available on the device.  I can clearly tell you this statement is infact false.  The device does not like to hold that many files and it starts to delay on you (quite noticeable) at 3k.
So, that in a nutshell has been my experience with Apple Support.  45 days later, I have reset my Air 10 times, tried to load all my books (at one time) 9 times, to finally find that the only way to get them in was a drag and drop the alphabetic (one letter at a time) and let it load on the IPAD before I would drag and drop more.  The synic problem doesnt happen anymore, I had to eliminate 2 books that itunes just would not send over to the IPAD even though there was nothing wrong with the file.  Am I happy?   NOPE ... talk about bait and switch.
Consumers beware ... Apple doesn't necessarily deliver what it says it will.

  • Sync issues with iPhone 6 and "other" storage

I have been having multiple problems with syncing music on my iPhone 6. In short some of the music and album art aren't synching even though they are checked.
I did some research and decided to follow the advice below from other users:
    • Uncheck “sync music” in iTunes
    • On phone, Delete all Music (General > Usage > Manage Storage)
    • Re-check “sync music”
    • Sync
The problem is once I unchecked the "sync music", it deleted all the music on my phone, but the actual space it was taking up is now in the "other" storage on the summary screen in iTunes. Now my "other" storage is over 81GB. I checked the Usage on my phone and even though there are no music files it is still showing I'm using this 81GB as used. When I go to "manage storage" I can't find this amount anywhere.
I figured if I re-checked "sync music" that would fix it, but instead iTunes tells me I can't sync because I'm over capacity.
So now I'm stuck because I can't sync but I also can't figure out how to get rid of the ghost storage.

    Hey armoe12,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like you have a very large quantity of “Other” disk usage when syncing your device with iTunes. The following resource should help you resolve this issue. Please be sure to follow each step, including the final step of restoring your device if needed:

  • Itunes on second computer cannot sync music with iphone

My primary computer for syncing my iphone is a imac and my secondary computer is a laptop running windows with itunes on it. When i set up iphone to sync with the laptop the music would not sync. The itunes version on the laptop can download purhcased songs. So i purchased new music through itunes on the laptop and now cannot sync that to the iphone without erasing all the other music on the iphone. Does anyone know how i can sync the purchased music on the laptop itunes with the iphone?
Grateful for any advice. I am not a satisfied user of apple itunes and iphone. I purchase music on itunes as I believe in paying for copyrighted music. Then when i own it apple software does not allow me to use it easily. Not really fair.

I also could not even manually drag and drop files onto my iPhone from my second computer. I have a video iPod, Shuffle and now iPhone. I drop songs onto both my shuffle and video iPod from THREE different computers (work, home and laptop). Are you telling me for some wacky reason we now cannot use more than one computer to drop files onto the iPhone?
I love my iPhone but that *****!!! You hear that Apple, it *****!!!!

  • Is anyone having problems with syncing photos with iPhone 5 and the recent iPhoto update?

My iPhone 5 has been fine for most of the week, but recently I updated my iPhoto on my iMac.  Now when I sync my phone with my computer I get an error message.  I restarted computer and phone and then restored the software on the iPhone and problem persisted.  I then unchecked syncing photos to my phone and the sync worked.
Now I do not have the ability to sync selected photo albums with my iPhone.  Believe this problem occured right when I updated iPhoto.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I am having the same issue. My iPhone 5 is on Verizon and my daughters iPhone 5 is on Sprint. Cannot do anything.
