Error when trying to activate new valuation area - AU158

Hi,
I´m getting an error when trying to activate a new valuation area by using AFBN transaction. I get a message that says "Closed fiscal years for areas 01 and 08 differ by more than 1 year" (AU158).
Then the system recomends me to check the settings of the depreciation areas for the closed fiscal years since the closed fiscal years of the areas are not allowed to more than 1 years apart.
When I check the settings in transaction OAAR what I see is: area 01 - 2010 and area 08 (newest) - 2008 fiscal year is assigned.
How can I close area 08? Will I need reopen the 01 area until 2008 fiscal year?
How can I create the new area with the same fiscal year closing?

If you open FY 2008, then you can create new depreciation area through AFBN.
I guess this depreciation area doesn't generate any postings and this is only for reporting purpose.

Do you have other company codes which are using the same Chart of Depreciation? Please check these company codes and perform fiscal year change to them.
It seems that the problem is related to note 421549 : the system tries
to check the entries for field T093B-ABGJA for all the entries,not
only for the relevant company code. If there's a difference of more
than 1 fiscal year between the last closed fiscal year for the area
you are trying to create, and one of the entries in T093B, then,
error AU 158 arises."
Because according to the note 421549: the system tried to check the entries for field for ALL THE ENTRIES,not only for the relevant company code.

That's definitely enough to start.
It sure seems like it should work...and then I saw that you're using a router. It could very well be that the router is the weak link here.
Instead connecting to your network router, try using a direct USB connection from your MBP. If that doesn't work, you read this post, which may be relevant to your problem:

I am getting an error when trying to download new iTunes software to new Windows 7 computer.

I am getting an error when trying to download iTunes to a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 7. Says... An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="86". HRESULT:0x80070BC9
Please help if anyone knows how to fix or bypass this problem.

These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
c. Perform the following actions
i. Right Click on Components Folder
ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
iv. Select Advanced Button
v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
ix. Select Apply
x. Select Apply again
xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time?

getting portal runtime error when trying to create a new iView in portal. I am unable to create a single iView in portal.

logs can be read from nwa, if you hv the relevant access or get portal admin to pass the defaulttrace file to you. Login to nwa, navigate to Monitoring-Logs and traces and select (either default trace or last 24hrs) to view the logs. hope this helps

Has anybody encountered an HTTP 500 error while trying to activate a webservice based on a business object from one of the SAP namespaces?
The error that I am getting is: HTTP 500 (InternalServerError) - Dump or unhandled exception in backend.

This was defect in the code while trying to include
Cross Bo associations in Read Operation.
This was fixed in FP26 with Hotfix HZEK001337.
This is not yet imported into VQ3.
Solution: Wait till VQ3 is supplied with this week's hotfixes
or try to generate service without Cross BO associations till hotfix
is imported into VQ3.

Error when trying to activate Office 2013 ProPlus - (0x80070005)

Have been receiving this error message for 2 days when trying to activate Office 2013.
Please note that I do not have the option to run Office as Administrator.

The suggestion I would like to provide was to run Office as administrator. By "I do not have the option to run Office as Administrator", did you mean you couldn't see the option or something else?
To run an Office application as administrator, we need to find the application shortcut, right click on it, then click "Run as administrator".
For the error message you provided, I also suggest you run the System File Checker to run the sfc /scannow command to scan all protected system files and replace the incorrect versions with the correct Microsoft versions.
For a Windows 7 PC
1. Click Start > All Programs >
Accessories, and then right-click Command Prompt and choose
Run as administrator.
2. In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
3. When the system scan is complete, try to install Office again.
For a Windows 8 PC
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click
Search.)
2. Enter command prompt in the search box.
3. In the list of results, swipe down on or right-click Command Prompt, and then tap or click
Run as administrator.
4. In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type sfc /scannow
press Enter.
5. When the system scan is complete, try to install Office again.

Xennet error, when tried to add new network card

Hi,
I got an error when I tried to create new virtual network thru VM manager,
I have add a new virtual network card thru VM manager in the same Xen bridge "xenbr0" , then i reboot the virtual machine, but when i tried to activate this network I got the below error:

Don't inject the Windows 7 version of the driver into your WinPE image. Depending on what version of ADK you are using determines what version of the driver you will inject into WinPE. If you are using MDT 2013 with ADK 8.1 you are using WinPE 5.0/5.1
which is basically Windows 8.1. Make a selection profile explicitly for your WinPE drivers to inject. Only include the drivers you want in the WinPE image. And match the architecture of the network and storage drivers (Windows 8.1 versions).

I hit an error 'cusomer-own workflow are not allowed to be configure" when trying to create a new element in the container.
have anybody come across this problem and how to overcome it

Aren't customer task not used anymore?
Or am I mixing things up here.
Well the problem isn't a problem it is SAP standard behaviour you simply can't configure customer tasks (type T in PFTC)
You can only configure Standard Tasks (TS) or workflow templates (WS)

Just had a look at the SAP help and indeed types T aren't allowed anymore SAP gives the solution to copy the customer task, this will automatically change it to a standard task

Error when trying to activate the NI Fbus Ver 4

I have tryed the online activation, fill out all the info then when i hit continue i get an error, i then tried the phone activation line gave all my info and it said technical error, i then stayed on the line and talked to someone who also tryed it online and same result, i was told to try the forums for help. The activation request you encountered is for NI-FBUS Configurator. NI-FBUS Configurator is a graphical tool for complete FF network configuration. Its license needs extra purchasing.
Another NI-FBUS software you installed is Communications Manager. Communications Manager provides the drivers for NI-FBUS interface devices and APIs for accessing FF network. You can build your own FF applications using the APIs. Communications Manager is free of charge and does not need activation.
If you are using Communications Manager only, there is no need to do any activation.

Error when trying to copy a work area in Oracle designer

In oracle designer,I tried to copy a work area by selecting.
File-->>Change work area.
Then from the "Work area" pop up window,I selected the new option.
In the Create work area wizard i chose "Copy a work area" and gave the Name ,description and the work area to be copied.
When i click the finish button,I am getting the following error.
"CDR-01005: Workarea compilation failed: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows. "
Please let me know how to copy a work area in Oracle designer.

Error when trying to activate SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure

I have recently inherited a SharePoint environment. On one site collection (which has 786 sites and subsites), I am trying to activate the
SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature and am getting the below error:-
The field with Id {51d39414-03dc-4bd0-b777-d3e20cb350f7} defined in feature {aebc918d-b20f-4a11-a1db-9ed84d79c87e} was found in the current site collection or in a subsite.
I believe there are two site templates which when they are deactivated, the publishing feature will activate but then the site templates will not activate.
I have seen from other posts etc. that this is related to
Feature with Id {aebc918d-b20f-4a11-a1db-9ed84d79c87e} is "PublishingResources", a hidden feature
Field with Id {51d39414-03dc-4bd0-b777-d3e20cb350f7} is "PublishingStartDate". It's the first field defined in the feature PublishingResources

I havent tried as yet as I need to copy it to a test environment so I don't break it and the DB is edging toward 200GB (another seperate issue).
I guess my questions are:-
I am migrating all of this content to SP 2013 in the near future - I am assuming it is best to fix this beforehand?
Would it be easiest to edit the site templates somehow - what would to do to the template to fix it?
Some direction would be great.

I recommend to use the command below to check which sites have this field:

If there are any sites listed, you may need to re-create the site before you migrate the environment to SharePoint 2013.

You should be manager of your workspace and
- go to http://beehiveonline.oracle.com
- click on buttom "Create Group or Add New Members"
- Choose your group
- CLick on the link "Add new member"

Error when trying to activate Internal Use Rights (IUR)

I am a Microsoft Silver partner. I am trying to activate my Azure Internal Use Rights (IUR). I am getting an error during the activation process. The error message is:
"MS-AZR-0025P IS NOT AVAILABLE"
I have taken screen shots of each step in the IUR activation process using Problem Steps Recorder. I can send them to you upon request.
I have opened support cases with Microsoft Partner Support and Microsoft Azure Billing Support. They suggested that I post my question here for a resolution.

However try the following steps if you havent tried these yet.

Getting an error when trying to activate MP !

hi guys,
I am getting following error , when i am trying to activate multi provider.
The MultiProvider definition contains an InfoObject that has not been assigned to the relevant InfoProviders.

Hi Hon,
When you double click on the MP, you will be able to see all your Cubes. Also in the Right side you will be able to see the folders of MP like dimension, Unit, Time etc..
First you will need to drag & drop all the characteristics from your Cubes to Dimensions folder(You can rename it) & also Keyfigues to Keyfigure folder of MP.
Then at the top of right side left coner, you will find a icon "Identify characteristics". When you click on that, it will show you all the IO's you have dragged under DImension folder of MP along with the Checkbox & respective cubes in which that IO is present.
You will need to select the Check box(check them) & continue this for all the IO's.
Similarly there is one more button for kwyfigures beside "Identify characteristics". Select that & repeat the above step for keyfigures now.
After doing this, try to activate the MP. It should work
