Error when trying to burn cd/mp3 or data cd.

The other day i burned a dvd and everything was ok. But then i tried to make a regular audio cd on itunes and i couldnt make it, I tried then an mp3, the same error was happening. At last, i tried to make a data cd, and this error appeared: 0x8002006F.
I have changed the speed, and tried all kinds of things. I thought it was the quality of the disc, but then i use the same brand on my brother's macbook and it worked.
anyone has a similar error?
helppp pleaseeee

    • Brand of DVD used ?
    • Type of DVD used ?
    • Burn speed set down or not ?
    • Version of iMovie, iDVD'11 v 7.1.2 (OK), QuickTime and Mac OS ( X.6.8 I read ? )

  • I keep getting a 4000 error when trying to burn discs....only been since the update....Help

Ever since the Itunes update, I keep getting an 4000 error when trying to burn my music to disc.  How do I fix this?

    Zachy,
    It goes something like this...
Put your new drive in the enclosure. Use Disk Utility to format it, etc. I'd give it a slightly different name than the original. Let's say you have Old Disk and New Disk as your drive names. Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy Old Disk to New Disk. Now you should have an exact copy, which you can test by rebooting and holding down the Option key. Choose New Disk from the list and let it boot, make sure all is well.
Shut down and physically swap the drives. Take Old Disk and put it in the enclosure. Now your system has a new disk with a lot more space and you can reformat your old disk and just use it for large files or whatever.

  • "Medium Write Error" when trying to burn a CD!!!!

I keep getting a Medium write error when trying to burn an audio cd using ITunes. I already tried switching out cheap CD-R's for high quality ones and the same thing happens. I also can't burn a picture CD using finder because another error message pops up so i don't know what it could be... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could be an issue with the drive itself, especially if you have one of the Matshita drives installed in many Macbook Pro which are reported to be 'krappy' drives. See here for more info...

  • Enocore CS5 error when trying to burn to blue ray disc

My project consists of 4 AVCHD clips imported separately into Encore as timelines and then I deleted the timelines to keep just these assets.  I built a new timeline and added these three clips to this timeline.  Three of the AVCHD clips are on the timeline with a total time of about 3:30.  The fourth is a 30 second clip used for the motion menu  background.  The file size is 22.95 GB.  There are 39 chapters in the project, the top page (page 0) has three buttons linking to chapters 1, 21, and 30 (the start of each of the clips).  The other pages of the menu have 6 video buttons per page linked to chapters.  All of the clips when highlighted will lead to the project setting "Do Not Transcode" (which is what I want) and I am buring this to a 25GB blu ray disc.  When I checked the project everything seemed okay- no error messages.  I then went to build the disc and after about 20 minutes I got the following error message:
    "Blu-Ray Object: "<Menu>NTSC_FISH top menu",Error:"device error",Code: "2",
Note: "Too many primary video streams in clip (Spec Table 9-3,Annex B)"
The menu name is NTSC_FISH topmenu.  Any ideas what the problem is and how I can fix this?

I went to the original motion menu source and saved it as Microsoft AVI (file name:    Premiere pro avi for menu.avi) instead of AVCHD hoping that might help and then brought that file into Encore and linked that as the motion video for the top menu (the other menus don't have a motion background). I tried to animate the buttons for all the menu pages.  When I click on the Premiere Pro avi for menu.avi asset the options show for DVD Transcode automatic and for Blu Ray Automatic (for transcoding).  The file shows as 720X576 and it is 34 seconds long.  The top menu is checked to animate buttons and I can uncheck it if I want, the submenus-start at page 1- have the animate buttons grayed out but checked and I can't uncheck these even if I wanted to. When I tried to burn this to disc, it got further along- burning 13.15 gb to disc and then I got the following error message:
Blu-ray error:File already exists",Code:"6", Note:Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1321.253267 seconds-
I am running Windows 7 64 bit, 2.4 ghz processor Quad core, 6 gb of memory and 69.1 gb free on my external hard drive and 29.7 gb free on my c drive.  I have an NVIDIA GE force 8500T card.  Any ideas?

  • Receiving "internal error" when trying to burn mp3 disc from playlist

I'm trying to burn an mp3 disc from a playlist that I've created. Unfortunately, I keep getting an error. I'm currently running iTunes 11.0.2 on my iMac which is currently running 10.8.3.  I've done this many times before, and this is the first that I've had this problem. Here's the error I keep getting:
The attempt to burn a disc failed. An internal error occured.
If you want to retry the current failed burn, click on Retry. If you want to go to the next disc burn, click on Next. Otherwise click on Cancel.
    Here's how it goes down:
I've created a very long playlist which will require the use of multiple discs.
I right-click on the playlist and select to burn the playlist to disc.
I then get the usual burn settings pop-up menu where I select the "MP3 CD" format with a preferred speed of "Maximum Possible"
Note: Since experiencing this error, I have tried varried speeds ranging from 8x to 24x; I still get the error.
Note Also: I have tried selecting "Audio CD" instead, and the playlist will burn and the error does not appear. This is not an option I want to go with, however, because of the length of the playlist — it would take, like, 25 discs...
For a moment iTunes will read the disc, then ask permission for the playlist to be split across multiple discs. I say "ok".
At this point, iTunes will say that it is initiallizing for about a split second then immediately say it's finalizing and spit out the disc. This is when the error pops up.If I select to "Retry", it doesn't retry to burn; it just saves a .txt file to my desktop that is  a copy of the error message. There's no error code/number or anything, though - just the exact same message. "Cancel" and "Next" seem to behave correctly, though.
I have tried repairing disk permissions and restarting my computer. I've also tried using different brands of CDs: Memorex CD-R and Innovera CD-R. The error persists.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Error when trying to burn DVD

    Hi
I get this error (repeatedly) when trying to burn DVD recently.
    Error code 0x80020022
Burning disc failed because communication to the disc drive failed.
It's self explanatory I know, but what am I supposed to do about it? Is it a problem with my hardware?. I can't see the icon for my disc drive in Disc Utility to check it.
I've shut down and restarted, tried different DVDs, they're all DVD-R although I did try at first with a DVD +RW and hope this hasn't caused some damage.
    Hope someone can help thanks.
I'm having loads of problems creating iDVDs as well. But I think I need to resolve issues one at a time....
    Helen

Hi Helen - here are some general purpose iDVD tips that may address some of your unspecified troubles. In terms of communication troubles, could your hard drive be going to sleep, or screensaver kick in and interrupt the process?
    General tips:
Do something small first; get some experience before you need to do a big project.
Lots of memory helps; and you'll need 10-15 gigs of space on the hard drive for scratch space.
Buy good quality disks - I've seen recommendations for Maxell, Sony, TDK and a few others based on testing. I primarily use the first two and usually don't have trouble.
    Give yourself lots of time.
Turn off your screen savers and energy savers; don't let your hard drive go to sleep.
Get your computer healthy and ready for some heavy lifting. (video work could be the hardest job your computer can do) MacJanitor and Apple's DiskUtility's Repair Permissions is my routine.
Most of the time iDVD is working, it is encoding (compressing) your video to fit on the DVD. Create an image .img file (patchburn for iDVD 4 and older) and use Toast or Disk Utility to burn it to disk. Burn slow (1 or 2x) and let it cool down.
I keep my projects under 60 minutes (for highest resolution).
Try testers; you can use DVD-RW
I import into iDVD rather than export from iMovie (fewer errors).
    No other apps open.
Let it encode and burn while you go to bed; it can take awhile, esp. on older Macs. Don't quit iDVD even when the DVD is burned, until you've played the DVD in a regular player (it's much easier to burn another disk and check to see if the problem was a bad disk, than to go back through all that encoding again by quitting iDVD).

  • K3b Error when trying to burn a CD

I am trying to burn a couple of Audio CDs, and when I start the burning process, it says "Determining maximum write speed" for about 5 seconds, and then in the log window, it says:
    IO Error
    Removing temporary files
When I click Show Debugging Output, the following information comes up:
    System
    K3b Version: 0.12.16
    KDE Version: 3.5.3
    QT Version: 3.3.6
    Kernel: 2.6.17-ARCH
    Devices
    QSI DVD+-RW SDW-082S LX06 (/dev/hdc, ) at /mnt/cd [CD-R; CD-RW; CD-ROM; DVD-ROM; DVD-R; DVD-RW; DVD+R; DVD+RW; DVD+R DL] [DVD-ROM; DVD-R Sequential; DVD-RW Restricted Overwrite; DVD-RW Sequential; DVD+RW; DVD+R; DVD+R Double Layer; CD-ROM; CD-R; CD-RW] [SAO; TAO; RAW; SAO/R96R; RAW/R16; RAW/R96R; Restricted Overwrite]
    How can I fix this?

Don't know if it will help but I had a similar problem that ended up being a permission problem. Something must have changed after a previous upgrade because it all worked ok before. I had to re-add myself back to optical group. Try burning as root and see if that works

  • Error When Trying to Burn

Hi! I've been trying to burn a few DVD's using Adobe Encore CS5, but I've been encountering an error every time i try to burn. I've used the Adobe Dynamic Link to bring in a Premiere Pro Sequence into Encore, and I've authored all of the menus. I transcoded the sequence before burning, but when I burn the disc I encounter the error "PGC 'Title of main menu' has an error at 00;00;48;25 (the length of the menu before it loops). internal software error: %0, line (Menu Title) - PGC Info: name = (Menu Title), ref Cpgc, time = 00;00;48;25". I have tried re-making the menu from scratch several time but I get the same error every time. I have gotten the same error on several other projects. How do I fix this?

  • I get "medium write error" when trying to burn cds

I tried to burn a playlist from iTunes and it burned one copy, then when I tried to burn a second copy my computer made alot of noise during the "initializing/finishing" stage, spit the cd out and said "medium write error" - i've tried another cd, and tried burning another playlist with the same results. Any idea what's wrong or if there is anything I can do about it???
    Thanks

First, try quitting all other applications except iTunes.
Second, try burning at a slower rate.
Then try a different brand/batch of CDs.
I believe the default burn setting is 'as fast as possible'.
Today I got perfect results at 20x or slower on my mid-2007 Core2Duo MacBook SuperDrive, and about 1 out of 3 at 24x and faster with a major brand name media labeled 'up to 52x'.
Yeah, it takes a little more time to burn each disc, but if you only have a 50% success rate with a faster speed, you're not really saving any time.
The reason I suggest quitting all other applications is that heavy CPU use seems to diminish my burn success rate on all of my computers, including the Windows boxes. Your mileage may vary.

  • Unknown error when trying to burn

Suddenly I can't burn a playlist. It reads the list, begins the burn, stops, thinks and then closes down. I get the following error message: "The attempt to burn a disco failed. And unknow error occured (4261)." Out of the last 20 attempts, I got 3 discs burned successfully.
Anyone have any ideas? It was working fine a few months ago. I've updated my iTunes version, so that isn't it.
