Error when trying to buy music

Just tonight, when I tried to buy some songs (two different ones), I got the following error "Could not purchase SONG NAME. The requested resource was not found." After awhile of hitting the buy button, both songs eventually purchased, but I had to keep trying. Whats going on here?

I was trying to download a free single tonight, and can't!
When I go to complete the purchase, I am asked for my User ID and Password. I enter both. iTunes cycles like it is going to try to complete the transaction then hits me with this little beauty:
"Your request could not be completed.
Make sure your computer's date is set correctly and that it accepts cookies from the iTunes Music Store. For detailed solutions to resolve this issue, click More Info."

I'm on a Mac. Not a PC. What gives? I just want the free Them Crooked Vultures track!

Can you install the root certificate update for Windows 7 from here:
    http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsu pd.exe
Not sure if it's for Windows 7 x64, but the end game is to update your root certificates manually.

When trying to listen to music in the music store, purchase music or listen to music that I have previously purchased I am requested to authorize my machine by typing in my username and password. • Error when trying to buy an app.

I tried to buy an app this morning for my entertainment but when clicking on the buy now button it says that "sign in is required" I signed in and it brought me to the page about my account and credit card and stuff. My security code was blank so I put that in but when I clicked done it said "payment method declined". Now I understand this happens with an absence of money on a card but I have 8.77 on my credit card along with 15.00 on a gift card I purchased yesterday. I was buying apps before this and the only thing that changed was that I added that gift card. This has happened to me before but it is really annoying cause it does it when I'm somewhere where I really need something and I cannot buy it. Please help. If there is a way to delete a credit card or changed it or fix my problem that would be appreciated. This also happened randomly, I wasn't even editing my account information I was simply buying an app, which I did so the day before this fine.

    Hey Zach,
If the iTunes Store gave you an error message indicating that your credit card was decline, there are few possible causes.
    1) Your credit card company's servers may have been busy. Consider trying again at another time.
    2) There is an issue with your card. Consider using a different card or contacting your credit card company to advise them of the problem.
    3) Your iTunes Store account information does not match the information on file with your credit card company. The billing name and address you enter must exactly match your credit card company’s records. Any discrepancy in punctuation, abbreviation, or capitalization could prevent you from purchasing from the iTunes Store. Consider checking your credit card statement or contacting your credit card company to make sure their records are up to date.
If you live in the U.S., your billing info must also match the address listed with the United States postal service.

  • Getting an error when trying to download music from Family Sharing

My husband & I are signed up for family sharing. When I try to download any of the music I get this error, "This device is already associated with an Apple ID. If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
What does this mean & how do I correct it?

    Howdy mrscaskin,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you recently setup Family Sharing and are seeing an alert when trying to download a past purchase from the iTunes Store. The article linked below will explain the alert you’re seeing and provide information about using Apple IDs with multiple devices.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
When you turn on iTunes Match or Automatic Downloads, or when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it, with a maximum of 5 computers at any time. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. You can view which devices or computers are currently associated with your Apple ID, remove unused devices or computers, and view how many days remain before the devices or computers can be associated with a different Apple ID from the Account Information page in iTunes on your computer:
    Open iTunes.
Sign in to your Apple ID by choosing Store > Sign In from the iTunes menu.
Choose Store > View My Account from the iTunes menu.
From the Account Information screen, click Manage Devices.
Next to each device or computer name, you will be able to see when each device or computer was associated with your Apple ID. You will also be able to track how many days remain before your associated devices or computers can be associated with a different Apple ID.
    I hope this helps.
    -Jason

I've made a photo book project in the new Photos app and when I click Buy Book this is the error I receive, "Store Unavailable. The store is currently down for updates. We'll be back shortly." This has happened for the last 24 hours or so.

  • Getting Error 9812 when trying to buy music from ITunes store

I want to buy one song from the ITunes Store. I am able to access the song, but when I push the "Buy Song' button, it says "Unable to access Itunes store - an unknown error occurred - 9812". I have tried to fix ITunes through the Control Panel - this did not help. I tried switching ethernet cords - this did not help. I am able to access the internet and receive email so I don't understand why I cannot access the store.

I had this problem just recently.
I discovered that the problem was located here: ROOT / Users / Shared  -- if you open that and the "adi" folder has a little red minus symbol in its corner, your permissions have somehow been lost. (If you can't see your root directory, open Finder Preferences and, under sidebar, check "Hard disks." That will make your root drive visible.)
If the "adi" folder has the red minus symbol, right-click the folder and select GET INFO.
Sharing & Permissions is probably set to "System: Read & Write | wheel: Read Only | everyone: No Access"
If so, your user account has no permissions, and that means iTunes can't use the folder properly.
To fix this, first unlock the folder using the padlock icon in the bottom-right corner of "get info." You will have to supply your admin password to do this.
Then click the little + sign in the bottom left corner to add a user, and select your user ID from the list of choices. Give yourself Read & Write permissions. (Alternatively, you could change the permissions of "everyone" to Read & Write; others have done that, but I was leery of doing it).
Re-lock the folder when you're done.
    Hopefully that will solve it.

  • Why am I getting a "connection error" when trying to buy a paid app in the Mac App Store?

Okay, so I am currently running OS X Mountain Lion on a brand new Macbook Pro 15 inch (early 2013). I haven't had any problems so far. However, today I tried buying a $10 app in the app store, and when I put in my login credentials to validate the purchase, it showed a loading wheel for about five minutes, then showed in red text, "Connection Error," just below the login fields. I've researched this issue and found it to be a bug in Lion... but no solutions for Mountain Lion. Any ideas?
I tried doing the thing with the Keychain Access, but there were no blue pluses under "Certificates." I should also mention that my network connection is fine.
Thanks in advance fellow Apple dudes!

  • Unknown error when trying to copy music from itunes to ipod

Message appears "copy to the disk IP failed unknown error -53. Any ideas?

good gracious, Dick. you keep getting hit by exotic error messages. (in these circumstances, a -53 code is reasonably rare.)
just checking on something. what got you past the "exception" message that you were getting when you were trying to launch itunes? (thinking here that info on that might possibly give us a heads up on what might be happening with your -53.)

  • Sign-in error when trying to buy a Book?!

Trying to purchase a book, I get an Apple account Sign-in error message.
"The was an error while accessing your account information. Please check your network connection and try again."
I checked my account info (login/password) using a web browser and everything seems in good working order. I have 1-Click turned ON, everything's ok. I purchased my new 20" iMac using this account. I can't understand why aperture will not allow a sign-in to the account to purchase a book.

I logged-in into osX as a different user, exported some pics, tried to order a book, and it worked. It's very strange that I can't sign-in to order a book using my main osX user account. How do I fix this? Any Apple store geniuses reading this?

  • HT1918 I get an error when trying to buy a book in iTunes - says "Paypal is not supported on this device". Which is fine, but my payment method in my iTune settings is for a credit card.

Same error occurs in any device I use: iPhone (4) or iPad (2).
Any idea how to reset something, or otherwise let me make a purchase?

And I just say for the record how much it ***** when you have to deal with a company who thinks so little of customer support, that you can't talk to anyone in person? Sheesh, the recording I got when I called hung up on me!

  • Error when trying to sync music to my iPod

I recently bought the new iPod touch 4th gen. At first I didn't realise all my music was on it but now my music folder has been set correctly, I start to sync the music and then it gets about 200 tracks in of 700, an error message came up saying iTunes couldn't sync to the device properly due to an error. Now I have no music on it at all, even though the space indicator says there is 5.1gb of music on there. Any suggestions? I'm running windows vista, iTunes 10 and don't want to take it back to the shop

The first message says 'attempting to copy to the disk hannahs iPod failed. An error occurred while reading the device' then it says 'the iPod 'hannahs ipod' could not be synced. An error occurred while writing to the device'. That's all it says
