Error when trying to export as Word document

Hello all, I'm having the an issue where no matter what kind of text or document i try to export from Pages 08', I get an error saying "An unknown error occurred" I tried deleting all the pages files and reinstalling the whole suite but i still get the same issue. Is anybody else experiencing this?

I started having problems with Safari 3, uninstalled, reverted back to Safari 2 which didn't work either. Performed an archive and install of Tiger and now the Pages '08 document exports to MS Word.
Based on the fact that 2 of our 3 Macs were able to export okay and not very many others posting about problems I don't think it is a problem with Pages '08.
Consider checking your system using Disk Utility to "Verify disk" or if you have other strange happenings with your Mac try the archive and install. It is a pain to download and install the updates but it worked for me.

Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

Pages shows error when trying to export to Word

Today, without doing any updates or making any changes to my MacBook, Pages has decided that it won't export documents to Word or PDF, showing me an error message after attempting to export. I've googled forums to try & find a solution, but all I can find is that it's something to do with Style. The Page documents are in exactly the same style etc as I was working on yesterday when I was successfully able to export documents to Word. Can anyone help please? I need to upload as Word documents for uni.

Have you tried to save any other pages file as Word, not only the documents for university?. Create a new file a write a word there then try to save it as a Word document. If it does, then the problem is in your University document as it may contain something incompatible with exporting to Word.

IMHO the free apps are a band aid fix. If the OP uses Office on a regular basis he will need to upgrade anyway. Personally I have used neooffice and found it substandard however that was just my take. I haven't tried Google's solution.
We both forgot to mention the OP could also use Pages and Numbers to open their Word and Excel files. If he uses Entourage then Mail and iCal would be viable substitutes.

When trying to export a pages document, it says 'error while printing' when I want to save as PDF. I used to be able to do it but for some random reason it won't let me anymore. Even when the printer is not plugged in or turned on it says it. Is there a setting I can change? Does anyone know how to fix as i can't email any documents and I don't know what else to do. Please help its driving me crazy.....

thank you, I can't print or save any old pages documents. I will create a new one and see if that helps. I have tried from the print dialog but it says the same thing. I will try something in another application. Could it have been when I updated pages? I only recently got broadband so did a heap of updates that were a bit overdue.

On Windows Platform, encounters error when trying to open an Indesign document created from MAC

Hi all,
On Windows Platform, encounters error when trying to open an Indesign document in INDD format created from Mac. Error received "Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by other application". I am currently using Adobe Indesign CC 9.2 Trial version.
Kindly advise how can i open this document on windows platform and allows me to edit the document.

Normally there is no problem to open any INDD opening on Windows, when created on the Mac.
But Mac user are often not aware on the naming limitations. A file name must not contain /, \, |, :
It should not contain any extended character, it is not a primary problem but will be, if something links to that file, so avoid also: ÄÖÜäöüß+&
You can use all other non A-Z a-z, 0-9 and - and _
I personally would also recommend to avoid spaces.
This is valid for the INDD file itself but also for all linked content.

In my SharePoint 2013, when I export a SharePoint list to excel from chrome, it works fine.
For your issue, make sure the excel client have been installed in your environment.
To narrow down the issue, I would like to confirm the following information:
To check whether the issue is related to the browser, I suggest you to do a test in other browsers, such as IE and compare the results.
What version is your office client? office 2013 or 2010? 32bit or 64 bit?

Error when trying to Export

I'm getting a javascript error, when trying to export. (i.e. "Deployment Management" -> "Export").
When I click on this link, a popup window is appearing. But, on that window, a javascript error occures. Nothing display on that window. (empty).

We are using OAM also. So, It might cause these errors. We will try to Install it from the beginning....

But, I have another issue.
1) We put our new changes by running patch_jboss.cmd file. After doing this, if we run xlStartServer.bat on <OIM_HOME>\bin directory, we can see all the changes.
But, if we start jBoss using <JBoss>\bin\run.bat file, we can not see any changes. I try to clear cache using PurgeCache.bat file. But, it is still not working....
2) When we start Jboss using xlStartServer.bat file, loggs are not written into <JBOSS>\server\default\log\server.log file. I try to configure using best practice guide. But, it is still not working...If I start JBoss using run.bat file on jboss, it writes loggs to server.log file..
3) Earlier, when we are doing development, we did not use OAM server to connecto to web site. So, for some customizations, I get the current user's userLogin from
<bean:define id="userLogin" name = "userMemberOfForm" property="userID" type="java.lang.String"/>..This works fine..
But, since we are going to use OAM or Windows authentication to connect to OIM web in live, it returns null or empty for "userLogin"....(if we use the above code)...How can I get the userLogin of the current login user....???

l am having an issue when trying to cancel an invoice document via MR8M transaction. It gives me the following error message;
SYSTEM ERROR: error in routine MRM_DRSEG_CR_CREATE
Message no.M8008
Procedure:
Contact your system administrator.
This invoice was related to a check payment. The check has been voided already and there is no clearing document for the accounting document. So, the item remains open. However when l try to reverse, it display the error message above.

Unknown Error when trying to export movie with certain PNG files in Adobe Premiere

Hi!
I've made an animation video in Premiere Pro CC2014 combining apple pro-res live action with png animation. When trying to export, some parts of the video are no problem, and some (seemingly random) png files Adobe Premiere just doesn't like?? I don't understand why it will export some and not others?

Error compiling movie can be anything from gap to bad clip, transition, effect, nest, you name it.
Export from AME with preview open and watch were in the timeline it goes wrong.
That is the place to fix it.

Can anyone help with my problem. I have one document that just can't seem to be exported to Word. It doesn't have any special formatting. A footer with page numbers is the only special thing. Anyone have any ideas? I've tested other docs, and they seem to export fine, just this one document. There is nothing special to this document either. i've imported the original from Word, modified it as pages, then tried to export it again. Nothing. i've also copied and pasted the whole doc into a new sheet, and tried to save it again as word, nothing again. I'm running out of things to do on this

It probably have something that is corrupt. Sometimes one has to try to export to another format (if it can be done) like .rtf and the open in Pages again. Or copy and paste to a textEdit document, save it and open it in Pages. Last resort is to recreate the document.
