ERROR when trying to launch

Unable to launch Adobe InDesign as you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Ensure that you have appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.

I've just solved this problem after trying everything else listed in this and other posts. None of them worked - deleted all pref files, disabled fonts, booted in safe mode, repaired permissions, run Adobe cleaner, reinstalled entire suite. I'm using Creative Cloud for first time on a brand new MacBook Pro running Maverick 10.9.
What did work was the simplest thing. Make sure Library folder is visible in your user folder (tick box in View menu in Finder).
Find USER/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
Get Info on that folder
You'll notice you're not listed as user in sharing and permissions.
Click the plus at bottom to add new user
Select Yourself
Set Privilidge to Read & Write
Close
Relaunch InDesign CC
If you're lucky like me, it will open perfectly.
Wish I'd tried this 24 hours and 40gb of downloads ago.

Why do I get the 'PowerPC code' error when trying to launch an Intel-based app from a CD?

When trying to launch a Flash-based app from a CD on my Mac Book Pro, I get the "PowerPC apps are no longer supported" error. Yet the app is not built with PowerPC code.
This also happened with Microsoft Office programs soon after I upgraded to OSX Lion, but someone was able to solve that for me.

It's just a free disc from a photo magazine, but the app runs fine on a Mac Pro running 10.7.3. Could it be hardware related?
I have actually asked this on behalf of a reader (I work for the company that makes the magazine) who is experiencing this problem, I just can't find any reason why the error would display in these circumstances. I apologise if this is against the community's usual practise - I just want to sort this guy out!
The app on the disc is compiled using MDM Zinc, but like I said it runs a-OK on Lion everywhere else.
Any help would be gratefully received and appreciated!

As recommended by sap in SAP note 113747, BRTOOLS (utilities) should have below file permissions for a smooth run.
brarchive, brbackup, brconnect, brtools have permission 4775:
-rwsrwxr-x ora<sid> sapsys ...
These can be started by the ora<sid> or the <sid>adm OS user.
brrestore, brrecover, brspace, and sapdba have permission 755:
-rwxr-xr-x <sid>adm sapsys ...
These can only be started by the ora<sid> OS user.

Error when trying to launch iTunes! Help!

Hi!
I've tried to seek through the forums to find someone with the same error, but i haven't found anyone.
Here's the problem:
When i try to launch iTunes I get a Windows Error saying that iTunes har encountered a problem and has to quit. It's that kind of error where you can send an error-report. And when I try to restart Windows, I get the same error when I log on. Please help! I've tried to reintall and repair iTunes, but it won't help.

I had this same problem for ages and tried all sorts
of things. I think the problem was Quicktime
actually, but what eventually worked was:-
Uninstall itunes, then reboot. Close the Quicktime
program tray icon (lower right corner of taskbar) and
uninstall Quicktime. Then install the standalone of
Quicktime before installing itunes again.

Getting error when trying to launch a game through game center

I am trying to launch Pinball HD from Game Center but always get connection errors. For instance, I receives the error "The requested operation could not be completed due to an error communicating with the server". I am also getting "a server with the specified hostname could not be found"
I am connecting through Wi-Fi. Any particular setting I need to specify in my router?

Wow. Did not expect an answer so fast! Unfortunately for me, the progress indicator keeps spinning for a long time before it comes back with an error. My internet connection is working. Is there a way to know what server it tries to connect to. I could probably run some tracing tools from there.

i'm wondering why i'm getting this error message when trying to open a file with kate using root in standard terminal
eg su

and i'm getting this error mesage

kate: cannot connect to X server :0.0
when i try the same method with user account it work perfectl
kate /home/user/document
no error
when i'm trying to open firestarter with root i get this kind message
No protocol specified

so i try with standard user and i this kind of message
"insufficient privelige u need to be root"

xhost + localhost

Error when trying to launch iTunes

When I try to launch iTunes on Windows 8 I get the following error:
"C:\Windows\system32\mssip32.dll is either not designed to run on window

Are you trying to connect to the remote machine?
There are a few limitations of Kerberos Configuration Manager tool.
The tool will only work in a single domain scenario. So, if you have the service installed in Domain A, but want to use a Service Account from Domain B, we won’t be able to discover and correct the issue appropriately.

FileNotFound error when trying to launch jnlp

This seems to be a common issue, however after many forums postings and so called solutions it still doesn't work.
I created a JavaFX app in NetBeans and let it generate the _browser.jnlp for the applet. I have a friend's website set up through godaddy under www.phoenixsecuritygroupltd.com
The structure under that url is:

ITunes and QuickTime Player give me a QTCF.dll error when trying to launch

When i try to open iTunes on my laptop it gives me an error saying:
iTunes.exe - entry point not found

QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll
i also get a error for quick time player displaying the same message for Quick Time.exe
i have uninstalled both programs and reinstalling them several times. i have also check to see if they work on other accounts on my laptop. they do not work.

The procedure entry point QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll
The most common cause of that one is a misplaced older version of the QTCF.dll lurking about in your system. On an x64 system, the best place to start looking is in the C:\Windows\sysWOW64\ directory.
Do you see a QTCF.dll lurking in there? If so, try dragging it out onto the desktop. Can you launch iTunes and QuickTime now?

Error when trying to launch solution manager

I am having trouble when I attempt to access the solution manager. When I am at the main screen for SM (the one with the horizontal display of the projects, early watch report number, system monitoring number, etc.), and double click any of the projects, early watch reports, system monitoring, etc. I get the following dump:

Receive and ERROR when trying to launch Premiere Elements 11

Out of the Blue, I am suddenly unable to open Priemere Elements 11, the organizer works fine, but if I slect NEW Project from the welcome screen I get the following errors: A dialog box named "Premiere Elements Debug Event" with the message of "Premiere Elements has ecountered an error....
[..\..\Src\Core\Preferences.cpp-388]
The only option on this error is to hit "Continue", at which point a second window pops up with a Runtime Error...
I have uninstalled, rebooted and then reinstalled but there is no change. Has anyone elese seen this problem... thanks in advance for any help.

If you want to give some troubleshooting a try, I will stay with you until we get that Premiere Elements 11 Windows to work. I will have lot of questions because I believe the answers are in the details. Often I write problems with the same symptoms can (often do) have different causes. So, I look at each case for details specific to it.
1. How long have you been running Premiere Elements 11 Windows 7 64 bit without this problem: few days, few weeks, few months, never worked? The usual drill...do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed and are you working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges? Are your video and audio card drivers up to date?
2. What do your computer resources look like, available RAM, free hard drive space (derived from just Local Disk C or using a supplemental drive for scratch disks and video storage? Where are your scratch disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at that location? (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks.) Besides your ccleaner maintenance, have you checked for Adobe Folder previews and conformed audio pile ups? Have you cleaned the Media Cache Database (See Edit Menu/Preferences/Media/Media Cache Database.)?
3. You say the problem happened out of the blue. Any new software, plug-ins, codecs, and the like installed around the time that the problem set in?
4. I would like to see you get rid of the Welcome Screen as your point of entry to the program. To that end, right click the Premiere Elements 11 Desktop icon, select Properties, select Open File Location. That will take you to a file named Adobe Premiere Elements 11.exe. Select the file next to it named Adobe Premiere Elements.exe, create a Desktop shortcut to Adobe Premiere Elements.exe, and use that Desktop shortcut thereafter to open Premiere Elements 11.
5. I would also like to explore other ways of opening the Premiere Elements new project depending on results. One example...can you open a new Premiere Elements project from the Elements Organizer?

If possible, download and install the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 11 Windows from Adobe and determine if that will install for you from the Premiere Elements as well as the Elements Organizer interfaces. Adobe allows only one download of its tryout product version whether you have used the product 1 or 30 days. So, if you have gone the tryout route, this idea isn't going to work unless Adobe makes an exception. But, I do like this idea for troubleshooting purposes.
MBolton never did follow up to a conclusion on the thread that kglad kindly referenced. There were other avenues to explore. I look forward to the opportunity to assist you in your Premiere Elements troubleshooting here.
