Error when trying to place images?!
In DW when I try to align images I get this error:
"Making this change would require changing code that is
locked by a template or a translator. The change will be discarded"
What do I need to change to get this to work??
You are placing the editable regions inside of block level
objects like
Heading and Paragraph tags. Some tags are not allowed inside
of those tags,
so dw complains.

Hi there
This Mac is quite new and was originally a migration (using Migration Assistant) from an older Mac.
Illustrator and InDesign in CS5 were both crashing often and most of the time it's when placing an image (in either application) – it doesn't crash each time I try to place an image, but 90% of the crashes are when placing an image.
We tried lots of things, like cleaning out the fonts, clearing font caches etc. After several months of that, we decided to wipe the Mac clean and start from scratch. It has been reformatted with a clean install of the OS and only minimal additional software added. Although quite a few fonts have been reinstalled, they all validate in Font Book.
One other thing of note is that the Adobe Updater fails to complete an update and so we have had to update each application manually from the Adobe website.
I would be so grateful someone could help shed some light on what is going on. Here's an EtreCheck report. Can also provide crash reports from the Console if useful.
Thanks!

Thanks in advance. Any ideas gratefully received – I've run out!
ps. I have 10 colleagues with same OS version and CS5 (some even have the exact same model of Mac). They don't have this issue. Thanks, I will do.

EMOD error when trying to upload images to hosting library with WIN 7
Dear Gurus,
using WIN 7 and IE8 i am facing the problem that i receive the error message: "An internal error occured. Please contact your site administrator for assistance."
I have tried multiple settings also setting trusted site: *.crmondemand.com
It works but not having WIN 7 machine.
Oracle statement is that they do not support WIN7 with Email Marketing On Demand. So no help from thereside. Do you have any suggestions for me how i could upload images to EMOD having WIN7 machine. I have already tried with IE, Firefox and Chrome. Every time the same error message.
Thanks for any hint!
Regards JuergenIE8 isn't certified for EMOD yet....you need to use IE7 to upload the images. I haven't seen anything from Oracle about changes in the new releases.
BOB - Do you know when the next release of EMOD is? I think thats 1.5?
cheers

Automator error when trying to convert images
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to create a workflow to convert images from .psd to .jpeg and for some reason when I run the workflow I get an error on the convert images option. All it says is action failed. Anyone have any advice? This is my first time using automator and I successfully set up a workflow to resize images, so I think I get the gist.
Thanks!!Are you using a photoshop-specific action, or the built-in "Convert to JPEG" action? It's entirely possible that the built-in action might not consider a photoshop file a graphics file. Your choices then are to see if adobe has put out some specialized actions for dealing with psd files, or to switch to applescript and script photoshop directly.

Why am I getting this error when trying to do Image Processor?
Ok I am using Bridge & Image Processor to add a water mark to multiple photos at a time with my ready made action. But for some reason I seem to be getting this error message every few pictures?
I've never had problems with other photo sets doing this before, but it was just recently that it started.
But it will successfully add the water mark to some of them via the Image ProcessorActually, my DVD multi-drives are I:\ and J:\, as my C:\ thru H:\ drives are my individual internal HDD's. Even on my laptop, my multi-drive is F:\. I always list my internals in order, and my multi-drives afterwards. In my case, it's simple layout for simple minds. I am also keen on having my internals listed at the hardware level as 0 = C:\, 1 = D:\, 2 = E:\, 3 = F:\ and so on. Once let a builder deviate from this order and it bit me big time - never again!
Now, you are possibly correct that the D:\ might be the OP's D:\ is the multi-drive, and now some source disc is not in it. To keep this sort of thing from happening, I ALWAYS Copy my Assets to an internal from my externals (usually), my NAS, and from any archive discs. Importing/Opening from a DVD/CD is often asking for trouble.
Good luck to the OP,

Error 500 - Internal server error when trying to upload images to website
I have been unsuccessful in my many attempts to upload images to the bustalk website. I keep getting an Error 500 - Internal server error message asking me to try again later but the fault is still repeated.
I have only found two that work correctly. They were created the same way and permissions are the same. I don't know why one works over the other.

I keep getting this error when trying to backup time capsule with time machine. The backup disk image “/Volumes/Data-1/Dan’s iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use.
Make sure that no other Macs are backing up at the time.
Pull the power cable from the back of the Time Capsule
Count to ten
Plug the power cable back into the back of the Tme Capsule
Wait a few minutes, then try a backup again. -
Sql Server Web Edition Reporting Services errors when trying to connect to Windows Azure SQL
I am using a preconfigured image from the Azure VM Gallery to create a VM.
--> Sql Server 2012 SP1 Web running under Windows Server 2008 R2
After configuring Reporting Services I get the following error when trying to run a report that connects to my Azure SQL db.
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SQLAZURE' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)
On the VM using SSMS I can connect to the Azure SQL db. On the VM in Report Builder when I define a connection I get a similar error to the one above when I test that connection. I am using Microsoft Azure SQL as the data source type.
Interestingly in Report Builder, if I proceed past the connection definition, I can see the tables from my Azure SQL db in the dataset definition page.
One more note. If I use a different image from the Gallery (Sql Server 2012 Standard SP1 on Windows Server 2012) my report builder connection works and the reports run fine. I believe that the Azure documentation says that Sql Server Web edition
is an acceptable choice for the SSRS on VM for reporting.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks -- Tom ReillyHello,
A VM with SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 supports all Reporting Services features, including all supported data sources, customization and extensibility, and scheduled report execution and delivery.
Did you run the report in Report Manager,or preview the report in Report Builder? Which version of the Report Builder you installed in the Windows Azure VM? SQL Reporting does not support reports created from Report Builder 1.0 or 2.0. You can create reports
using Report Builder 3.0 and then upload the reports.
What's more, please also check the database source credential of the report.

Fanny Liu

I am getting an error when trying to add a caption.
I get the following error when trying to add a caption to a photo. "An error occurred while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may be a problem with the source media." I am running Windows 7 Pro. The files are located on my c:. The drive has 274 GB Free so space isn't an issue. I have tried deleting a file and readding it to the same catalog and still the same problem. I have copied the file to the desktop and cataloged it from there and the error went away.
If i check on the folder attibutes it is set to read-only but the desktop folder is as well. If i try to remove the read only it only resets itelf to read only again. Once i get the error another file shows up with the image name plus -edTM P-1 and it has the caption on it.I was able to get it to work. The root folder which held the pictures had a lock on it through windows 7. Even though the drive was shared, I still had to go into the folder properties and share it with everyone. Once i got the lock off and rebooted I was able to add captions again.

This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box markedAllow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
{ sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
