Error when trying to play Keynote show on secondary display (Snow Leopard)

Hi.
I'm getting an error message when trying to play keynote presentations on a secondary display. I get the same message with every file I try:
"Keynote cannot play your slideshow because an error occurred."
The files will play fine with my displays mirrored, or on just the laptop. Never had any problems before Snow Leopard.
The secondary displays are 1. Apple Cinema Display, and 2. A Sanyo video projector. I get the same error in both cases.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Chris San Antone wrote: "I am using Keynote '09 trying to put up the "Presenter Information" data on a second display during a presentation. I keep getting the error "Keynote cannot play your slideshow because an error occurred." when I start the presentation.
The presentation does run fine with the "Presenter Information" the first time I start it after starting Keynote, but if I exit the presentation and try to run it again, I get the error and I continue to get the error until I restart Keynote.
The presentation will run just fine if I don't use the "Presenter Information" on a second display feature."
I'm having the same problem. Any help? Please... Thanks

Time out error when trying to play on Airport Express. This started with an iTunes update, problems has to be with iTunes, Airport Express appears to be communicating fine, even shows when speakers are not connected.

Same here, though on XP. Have tried cleaning registry, reinstalling, deleting preferences. Created a new user with no library and I have the problem there, too, so it's not the library.
Is there no one to call about this??

  • Unable to load media error when trying to play a video in Sharepoint 2013

My team consistently gets an error when trying to play a video in SharePoint 2013. I can upload it, pick a thumbnail and save it.  When anyone else goes to the intranet site and tries to play the video, they get a media failed to load error.
I have tried mp4 and wmv formats. I at first thought it had to do with the codec used in Camtasia to create the video, so I encoded it in Microsoft Encoder to a wmv and it still fails. All of the videos I upload fail for other users. If someone else uploads
a video, I get the error and cannot play the video.  If I look at the library in Explorer, the video file is missing but the subdirectories for additional content and thumbnails are present. For the videos I upload and can play but everyone else
gets the error, I see those subdirectories as well as the video file itself.

  • HT1338 i've been getting an error when trying to play online games saying that i need to have the browser in 32 - bit mode. my browser is in 32 - bit mode but the msg keeps coming up and not running the game

i've been getting an error when trying to play online games saying that i need to have the browser in 32 - bit mode. my browser is in 32 - bit mode but the msg keeps coming up and not running the game

I dunno, that doesn't make any sense to me.
I just shut down and rebooted into the SnowLeopard partition and took a peek at the preference panes.  There are only 3 that run in 32 bit only.  They are all 3rd party, and none of the prefpanes are non Intel.  Like I said, I have never owned a PPC machine.  Anyhow, SnowLeopard doesn't even have an iCloud prefpane, or a combined mail, contacts, and calenders prefpane, and the ML security and privacy prefpane is all new as well.  The software update prefpane is Intel and 64 bit in both SnowLeopard and Lion.
As to the triple boot, unless I'm totally mistaken, what I have here is, in essence, 3 seperate descrete computers in one box.  All using the same hardware. but one at a time.  I wouldn't know how to get more than one running at the same time, without using a virtual machine, even if I wanted to.  (Which I don't)  I do sometimes transfer files from one to another using the shared folder, but other than that, they do not interact.  How could ML system preferences be trying to launch prefpanes from a totally different machine?

it's not just videos from the "outside" - i'm having this issue with brand new material downloaded from itunes.  specifically, doctor who season 6 part 2 and futurama season 8.

  • Error when trying to access keynote presentation saved as ppt

When I export my keynote presentation as a power point (.ppt), I get an error message that states "there was an error accessing Macintosh HD:Users:" and then the rest of the file path. I am trying to save the file onto the desktop but it doesn't matter where I try and save it, I still get the error.
    Thanks
    Craig

While I don't know why this happens, and you're not the only one with this problem, it has never happened to me. I don't think it's because of clean living , but perhaps something problematic about one or more of your slides, but perhaps not all of them. See if you can break up your presentation into smaller parts, try exporting a few of of them. If one or the other group works fine, it'll help you narrow down the problem.

  • JMStudio: error when trying to play files from URL

JMStudio fails when I am trying to play files from youtube.
Error message "Could not create player for http://www.youtube.com/v/u0AXoIe9F6M".
Nevertheless it succeeds in playing *.flv files from the disk.
    Whats the problem?

Have you tried copying the said file over to your
desktop and opening it from there?
Yes, the files open when I do that. It has something to do with persmissions I guess on the other system, but I am logging in as the same user/password as when I log in directly. I ran the fix permissions under the disk utility, but still no good. It isn't just related to Excel files either; I am having these problems when I try it with Word too.

Answer: Change your DNS setting in the iPhone/iPad Wi-Fi settings.
That worked for me. My original DNS settings were assigned by my WIFI router a. I removed these and placed in: 208.67.222.222 (Open DNS server IP)
To make this adjustment go to Wi-Fi, locate your selected Wi-Fi network and click the blue arrow beside it to being up advanced settings, click in the DNS area to change it.

    Hi,
I installed rhythmbox lately, when i try to play a mp3 i get the following error:

I have installed alsa with wiki (works perfectly), including these lines in /etc/devfsd.conf:
    REGISTER sound/.* PERMISSIONS root.sound 660
    REGISTER snd/.* PERMISSIONS root.sound 660
Yes, i did a search in the forum......
Saw that it is probably a gstreamer problem. Ran gstreamer-properties.
    It says: defaultsink:
    output: ESD Enlightenment Sound Daemon
    pipeline: osssink
When i click on test it says:
Failed to construct test pipeline for 'ALSA - Advanced Linux Sound Architecture'
I do not have the complete gnome installed, i use XFCE
    Anyone got any suggestions?

DIdn't work for me, though.. :-(
I have the same problems. Playing through totem (through xine) works fine.
I use alsasink in gstreamer-properties and have snd-pcm-oss build into the kernel (no module).
I've followed the directions from the wiki but I use udev. But I've set permissions accordingly. Since xine can play audio, I guess for this part everything is okay.
I don't get it - this is not my first alsa installation. :-)
Just tried pacman -S gstreamer but no change..

"flash player HD" is not a valid Adobe product.  Flash Player is just known as Flash Player, not Flash Player HD. Can you please post a screenshot (How to post a screenshot in the forum) of the pop-up message and the page you go to when you click on the link (including the URL of the page)?

  • Error when trying to open Keynote

When I recently upgraded my OS, something happened and my Keynote no longer works.  I'm receiving the following error message even after reinstalling the iWork from the CD.

What version of Keynote are you using?
First thing to try is to remove iWork completely. Use an application removal tool;  Appcleaner is free and does the job of removing iWork.
    Remove iWork.
    Empty the trash.
Reinstall using the iWork installer disc or download file.
Repair permissions:   Applications > Disk Utility >  First Aid > Repair Permissions
    Reboot.
