Error when trying to sync Palm T

I get the following error. I haven't been able to sync for the first time. I was upgrading from Netscape Calendar. Any suggestions?
HotSync operation started 10/16/05 23:34:42

I was having the same problem on my Treo 650. Don't know if this will work for you, but it did for me (at least, it's working right at this moment).
I'd installed Calendar Sync for Palm 10.1.1 on my Windows box and experienced "small heap" errors when syncing. At this point, I could see the timezone settings. Couldn't find anything on the small heap error, so I went to palm.com and downloaded/installed the latest Desktop software 4.1.4e, then reinstalled Calendar Sync. This is when I noticed there was a blank menu in the setup screen for the timezones. After poking around in the registry, I found the following:
1. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Oracle\Calendar Sync for Palm" appears to contain all the correct calendar sync configurations settings.
2. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Calendar Sync for Palm" also existed that basically contained blank keys. I deleted this hierarchy, went back to my settings, and the proper timezone showed up, along with all the other timezone settings.
I don't know if this was a fluke, or if it will continue to work, but the next time I synced, it worked.
After this worked, I uninstalled Calendar Sync and manually removed registry entry #1 aobve. I then reinstalled the Calendar Sync and checked the registry-- only the one mentioned in #1 was there, and everything worked fine. I'm curious to know if this works for you.

check if you have read & write permissions for your iTunes music (or media) folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. if permissions settings check out, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so

Try my script FindTracks. Select a few of the missing files to start with then run the script. Choose No at the first prompt so that you can check how it works track by track, then confirm or edit the location of the media folder where your files are. Once you are happy with how it behaves let it process larger numbers of tracks automatically.

  • Microsoft Windows Error When Trying To Sync

When trying to sync my 4th gen nano with iTunes I always get a error window that appears saying:
"Do you want to scan and fix STEVE's NANO (F:)?"
There might be a problem with some files on this device or dics. This can happen if you remove the device or disc before all files haven been written to it.
    * Scan and fix (recommended)
    * Continue without scanning
If I select Scan and fix I get a message saying it could not access the file.
If I continue without scanning sometimes it will sync, other times it won't.
Have no problems with syncing my iPhone. Just the nano.

My Ipod (and I have another one as well, a photo that works just fine with everything) will simply not sync all the way. It works until it encounters an error, and then quits. This ipod, a 60 gig video does this as well as another ipod I have, a 30 gig video. Yes I have 3 ipods, its crazy.

  • Error when trying to sync new update

How annoying once again I didn't even know there was an update. Itunes downloaded the update but when it tries to sync it I get this error cannot sync ^0 to the iphone unknown error (-19) and I restarted my phone and restarted itunes. Now at the syncing part it is taking FOREVER to sync my applications I have installed. ***???

Okay, I had to remove the application Hold 'em. And now it is downloading the update into my phone. While syncing though it said there were 9 errors and said all my other apps were not installed. How dumb! Now they need another update for that problem! I don't think I have ever experienced such a pain in the but before! And my phone is one of the older ones and I paid how much for this? I've been even thinking of dumping this and trying the one with Verizon!!!

I've unplugged and replugged but still the same message.
Any ideas on what this is?
    Thanks,

See if you can establish what specifically is causing it.  Start by taking all the ticks out of the top sync boxes in each section next to the Summary and Info pages of your device - ie untick music, films, books, etc.  Then add one in at a time.  I suggest you start with music, if it fails, then take the tick out of the Voice Memos box.
See how you get on.  Dont change any specific page option, just take the ticks out of the main top sync boxes to start with, and try syncing one type at a time.
Before you start it may be a good idea to right click your device icon in itunes and click on reset warnings.  And under Edit\Preferences\Advanced tab, also click on reset dialogue warnings.  Also reset the Store Cache whilst you are there too - particularly if you have noticed store pages loading slower than normal.

  • I get an internal device error when trying to sync my iphone 4

Every time I connect I either get a message from iTunes that it doesn't recognize the phone or it tries to sync it and can't ending with an internal device error message.

I had the same problem. I got it working a few hours after setting up the account. Go to the firefox button and click sync now. This solved the "Failed Server Lookup" issue for me.

  • "Port In Use" error message when trying to sync Palm m500 to Windows Vista machine

An error message on my Palm displays "Error: Serial Port in Use (Serial 0307)" when I try to sync my Palm m500 to my Windows Vista (32 bit) Home Basic machine. It worked until about 3 months ago and I don't have a restore point that far back to try System Restore. I've upgraded to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 (was using 4.xx) and downloaded the PalmHotSyncSetup from Pimlico Software but nothing helps. Any ideas are appreciated.
    Post relates to: Palm m500

I would try connecting the Palm's cradle, with the Palm in it, to your PC and then, in Device Manager, right-clicking on Palm Handheld #2 and selecting Uninstall Driver.  Palm Handheld/Palm Handheld #1 could be visible if you connect the Palm to USB port you may have tried using perviously.
After uninstalling Palm Desktop, reboot the PC, make sure Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is installed (since you are using Vista) and then try reconnecting the Palm.
One last thing: Make sure that you are using a 32-bit version of Windows.  There is no 64-bit USB driver support from Palm or ACCESS.  If you do have a 64-bit version of Windows Vista installed, that would clearly explain why you are having so much trouble getting your m500-series PDA to sync. This thread tells you how to check for a 32 or 64-bit install of Windows.

  • How do I prevent windows from shutting down ITUNES with a Data Protection Execution error when trying to sync with my Iphone 4S in a 32 bit windows environment?

I first was not able to install ITunes 10.5.  Apple upgrade installer caused a data protection execution error and windows reverted the process back to the original software.  I then removed ITunes through the control panel ap.  I removed Bonjour and quicktime.  I could not use the windows uninstaller to remove the apple upgrade installer and had to find a fix it program on the microsoft web site to fully remove this program.  After doing this, I was able to load and install itunes 10.5.  However, now when I try to sync my new 4S phone, the sync only goes to the 2nd or 3rd step before eliciting a DPE error and causing itunes to shut down.  I tried making a new user profile.  Opened I tunes in the new profile and began to search for music on my computer.  The program again elicited a DPE error.  I looked to see if quicken was still on the computer and maybe causing a hangup, but it is no longer installed.  Ok, I am at wits end and have spent much too much time on this issue.  Please help.

I was able to finally stop ITunes from crashing after many days of searching n restarting my computer many times.
    a) First I went to this site ->http://forums.techarena.in/guides-tutorials/1119812.htm that showed me how to disable DPE. Please make sure that u have good virus...etc.. protection first before doing this. I have Avast Internet Security. RESTART UR COMPUTER..
    b) I then uninstall ITunes by following this site ->http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923      RESTART UR COMPUTER..
    c) I then downloaded a beta version of ITunes. I happen to download beta 7 before the final of 10.5 version came out. Installed it. After installing I click on it n it said somewhere along the line of "this ITune ver. expired" I checked in my Programs n Features n notice that QuickTime was installed w that beta version.
    d) Go online n download the final version of ITunes ->http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ...... After u finish dling install that. After that's done connect your IPod, IPhone...etc... n click on ITunes, it should sync all the way.
I was finally able to sync all thru the steps insteading of it crashing on me midway. Hopefully this will work for you. Good luck !
