Error when trying to watch purchased TV/Movies

When I try and watch either a movie or a TV show I've purchased iTunes gives me the error below,
I haven't set up a new Apple ID and the content I'm trying to watch is from the Apple ID I've always used. Any ideas on how to get these items to play?
Thanks!

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4s! Need  a solution from Apple!

i have an unknown error when trying to watch a rented movie from the itunes store

It's common in the sense that you'll see this issue arise in the community from time to time, but in the context that the community is the place that users bring their problems it's probably similar to a broken shoulder which may be common at the hospital but not so common amongst the population that the hospital serves.
In many cases the problem can be solved by restarting the Apple TV (pull the power for best results) and/or restarting your router. Persistent problems may indicate a network issue such as interference locally or a slow download speed from your service provider. Try the restarts and see if that helps.

  • I've started getting an error when trying to transfer purchased videos to iPhone.

I've started getting an error when trying to transfer purchased videos to my iPhone.
I get an error saying that selected videos will not play on the iPhone. They were purchased from iTunes and have been played on the phone previously.
So far I've only noticed it on SD/HD videos, but not all SD/HD videos. Not had an issue yet with the judt SD files.
    Anyone else encountered this?

YAY!!! Saved it in my Mac's Firefox Bookmarks for easy future access!
Hope you are having a lovely afternoon today! I'm about ready to go bobo....I have an early meeting, and I don't want to oversleep! The nice part is that I work remotely, so I only have to wake up 15 minutes or so before the meeting.... I don't even use an alarm clock anymore (really, my iPhone alarm, which is much more pleasant), unless I have to get up at 6:30 or something....

  • Error 3001 when trying to watch a rented movie

I've rented my first movie off iTunes Movie Rentals (Fantastic 4 - Silver Surfer). The file downloaded fine, but at the end of the download it shows error 3001 (There was a problem, etc.) but gives no specifics.
I tried it on my MacBook Pro and my girlfriend's Dell, both running the latest version of iTunes, but I get the same error when trying to play the movie, or when I click "Resume Download" (although it looks like the movie had downloaded already).
Any tips on how to fix this? I was looking forward to watching this with her tonight.
Not a good first-time experience with this rental thing I must say

I am getting the same error ("3001") when downloading - not watching. At first I was getting err = 8008. 8008 would happen about 1/3 through the download process. Download would freeze, and issue iTunes would alert an err = 8008. After contacting Apple, they claim to have reloaded the movie and instructed me to try again by:
    1. Delete my /User/iTunes/Music/Download folder
    2. Check for Downloads
After several attempts, the download process finally proceeded past the original freeze point. Download is now 99.9% complete, but now crashes and issues a pop-up alert "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (3001). There was an unknown error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
1.6G of 1.7G has downloaded. When I try to "play" the existing file, I am presented with another 3001 error pop-up.
    Grrr....

  • Get playback error when try to watch amazon prime movies on ipad

Trying to watch amazon prime movies on my ipad, have instant movies app but keep getting playback error. What am I doing wrong?

the issue is DRM the same thing would happen with remote desktop
the DRM block the video stream from being sendt to a source where it have no control with if it's copied and in the proccess removing the DRM
it's 100% intentional and really because it's not really "legal" to do that
some people repport that the play called VLC works so that mean that player remove the drm itself which is again breaking the law

  • Error (-12894) when trying to watch a rented movie

Rented catching fire on ipad to stream to Apple TV, since appletv was being stupid asking me to keep verifying my payment info. Downloaded and processed, and when I click watch the iTunes Store app either crashes or gives me the unknown error with that number. I was charged for the movie. Fun stuff.

  • License error when trying to reading purchased content on new computer

I have changed computers from the original purchase and license of a number of commercial text books. I have copied the "old" licensed content to a new computer but receive an error when I try to open the "old" content on the new computer. The error message indicates that I'm supposed to contact the original vendor and download the material again. Isn't there another/better way?

In addition to the manual method you are trying, there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available (check for the one's that have been upgraded to be Vista compatible). • Getting "Acquire Rights Error" when trying to watch a purchased movie on my IPAD

I downloaded Media Manager for my IPAD.  I then downloaded a movie I purchased about a year ago to watch it on the IPAD.   The movie downloaded, then the error "Acquire Rights Error" shows up. There is a button that says "Acquire Rights", but it is greyed out.  The only button I can select is "Delete Title From Device."  I did delete it and downloaded it again, but I get the same error.  My IPAD is an authorized device, and I can watch the movie on my other devices without any problem.  Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Keep getting VOD_140 Error when trying to watch a VOD purchased movie

These forums suck.  As a former Verizon employee who worked on the very first VOD system for Bell Atlantic Video/TELE-TV/Verizon FiOS, I can't believe how difficult it to navigate through all of the flotsam and jetsom that Verizon calls "Customer Support" and "Support Forums".  This is ridiculous!!
All I want to find out is: what is the VOD_140 error that I and others seem to be having, and what (besides going through STB's for Dummies instructions that I have ALREADY gone through) can be done to remedy the problem?  Add to that sitting on the phone for 30 minutes to figure out what the problem is.
***As I was typing this, I finally got a live person, who told me that VOD_140 is Verizon's system message that means they are having a system outage (which happens to be nationwide).  Here's an idea:  if you are having a system outage, WHY NOT JUST SAY SO??  Is that so freaking hard??  Jesus, we had fewer problems when we were running the world's first true VOD systems here in the NoVa area over copper/DSL lines...you would think the systems and customer interfaces would have improved considerably since 1993-94.

  • Flixster Error when trying to Watch a Movie on IdeaTab A2107A-F

I am trying to play my movies through Flixster and when I try to watch, Flixster comes back with an error that it cannot play on a rooted device.  The device is not rooted and never has been.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Is there some app on the system making it think it is rooted.  I installed a couple of root checkers and both informed me that the device is not rooted.

Thanks, I sent their support an e-mail about it as well, but have not heard back yet.  I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem or is it limited to me.
