Hi Expert,
we have upgraded BW3.1 to BI 7.0, we are getting error while activating transfer structure for 0mat_sales_attr and 0mat_sales_text.
Error is Error while creating table 'EDISEGMENT' entry '/BIC/CIOD0MAT_SALES_TEXT'
Message no. EA201
Diagnosis
An attempt was made to create the entry '/BIC/CIOD0MAT_SALES_ATTR' in table 'EDISEGMENT'. The attempt failed.
System Response
The operation was canceled.
Procedure
Please check whether the relevant entry already exists
I have tried report RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL also, but no success.
I have checked table and entry is there. i have checked we31 for segment there also segment is existing.

I am facing the same issue when i transport the datasource from DEV to QA.i applied the OSS Note 493422 ,But could not resolve the issue.Pls let me know the solution to fix this.

I am getting an error while activating the transfer structure, I have the same datasource comming from a 2nd instance of R/3 and its working fine with the 2nd source.
I mean same datasource comming from two R/3 instances and connecting to one infosource.
Maximum length of segment is 1000 characters, current length is 2567

there is an OSS Note (120446) related to your problem, but it seems related to a very old release (what's yours ?)
Anyway, it suggests:
"the transfer method in the transfer rules must be set to TRFC with ODS"

I am trying to activate the transfer rules of 0MATERIAL_ATTR, but when activating the process end with the following message:

Diagnosis

Message:    The data object "P_S_COMM" has no component called
I cannot activate the transfer rules of 0MATERIAL_ATTR and 0MATERIAL_TEXT because of the same problem. Could anyone please help me...

Error while activating transfer cules of 0CUSTOMER_TEXT in BI 7

Hi,
I am finding the following error while activating 0CUSTOMER_TEXT in BI 7
1. Transfer structure 0CUSTOMER_TEXT_BA does not exist and
2. Data element for TXTMD could not be created.
Can you please suggest me how to resolve these issues ?

did you replicate ur 0CUSTOMER_TEXT as 7.0 datasource, then you need to use transformations and not transfer rules. if you dont want to use 7.0 Ds, then go to RSDS and recover the datasource to 3.x(menu options). then you can use 3.x dataflow.

The problem is with your data source replication.
Activate your data source & replication too.
Activate your transfer atructure through RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL .
If not so, Activate your transfer rule manually.

Transfer method 'TRFC with PSA' is not supported by the source system
Message no. RSAR508
Diagnosis
The PSA transfer method is used to transfer data from source system GBQ480 to transfer structure 0ASSET_ATTR_G4. Source system GBQ480 does not support a PSA transfer.
Procedure
Define the PSA in the source system.

Change Transfer method to PSA in Transfer rules and then activate. If PSA is selected, you will not face this error.
If you still face this error even after changing Transfer method, check below thread.
Transfer method 'TRFC with PSA' is not supported by the source system

Error while activation of structure CI_MMH1

Hi All,
I have added two new 'Z" fields in the structure CI_MMH1 ( User exit ).But at the time of activation system is giving error.
Could anybody tell me is there any other way to add those fields or Am I missing something.

Run time error while activating the Transfer Rules

Error when activating Transfer rules for Infosource :
0FI_GL_1 -
(General ledger: Transaction figures)
Run time error : ASSERTION FAILED
Transfer rules traffic light is in Green. But when i am trying to activate the Transfer rules, its giving Run time error.

Hi,
As mentioned in the note 939383 , either Import Support Package 08 for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI (BI Patch08 or SAPKW70008) into your BI system or do correction instructions given in the note.
It is always better to import the latest patches avialble in service market to avoid this type of problems.
Also see tha note 1010672 amd check whether it is applicable to your problem.

Usually this occurs when even the SOURCE SYSTEM is not configured properly. Recently I had the same issue. If the source system is newly configured, meaning other tran structures / rules are working fine then don't go over this process.
1. Drop the Source System
2. Re-Create the Source System.
3. For other than PC Files, "Replicate the DataSources" in the Source System.
4. Try mapping the transfer rules / structure and activate it.
Also check the SAP Note no :147195

Hi,
while I am Extrating Data From Flat File I encountered this Error.
I am working on ECC 6.0 , BI 7.0.
I am trying this one in IDES, it is newly installed server.
For Flat File Extraction I follwed the Steps
1) I created Data source -
let us assume I have created a Flat File with 3 fields
SNO SNAME MARKS
File is located in workstation
Data source created successfull , I have checked in preview.
2) I have created 2 key Figures, 1 characteristic
3) I have created Infocube
here I have some doubt
while I am creating Infocube, the look and Feel is very different to 3.XX
when i try to create in 3.XX , we can see the Tabs for Kef figs,chars,Time chars and we assign chars to Dimenstions.
when i am creating Infocube in BI 7.0 , I don't Find such a Tabs and how I am assign the chars to Dimension
I created Like this
select
Info Area -
> create Info cube -
given name of the cube and create (F5).
the Info cube window displayed on the Right side
Then I did like this
select
key Figures -
> Info object Direct Input
Then I inserted my two key figures SNO,MARKS
--- continue (F5)
Dimension 1 -
> Info object Direct Input
I inserted the 1 char SNAME
--- continue (F5)
Then I saved the Info cube
Info cube saved successfull and activated successfull
Is it Right way For create InfoCube ?
4) I created Transfomation for the Data source
Data source -
> create Transfomation
I have given
Object Type : InfoCube
Name :YSTU - i selected which I already created.
It automaticall taken these parameters
Obejct Type : DataSource
Data source : YSTU
source system :PC_FILE
create Transformation (Enter)
I got the Error
Cannot generate proposal
Message no. RSTRAN017
Then I try to activate, I got the Error.
Error while activating transformation
Message no. RSTRAN510
Before I post this , I had searched in Previous SDN post for this Error , But I can't understand the solution.
I have lot of doubts like Basis Guy need to install any Patch or
I did mistake any where.
Help me to Find the solution...

Object Type : Info cube
Name : YSTU (This is my Cube Name)
Source of DTP
Object Type : Data source (It automatically Taken)
Data source : This is Disabled

Error while activating DSO

Hi,
I am getting an error while activating the DSO. I am able to load the data but this occurs when I try to activate the data. I get the follwing error message
"Value "09020751987.44 " from characteristic 0REF_DOC_NO contains an error at position 15
Message no. BRAIN290
Diagnosis
Characters that have a hexadecimal display between HEX00 and HEX1F are not permitted in characteristic values. The character at position 15 is one of these characters. The value is therefore not permitted.
Note that these characters cannot be displayed and are therefore displayed as '#'. The actual character '#' has the hexadecimal display HEX23.
Procedure
Check the origin of the characteristic value. If possible, change the characteristic value in the source.
Incorrect source text in update routines and transfer routines can also cause this problem."

Hi Tanu,
this is an error in the data loaded. If you have used PSA, then try searching for the packet containing this record using the change log table, by request id. (This step is to precisely find the position of the record in PSA).
Now delete the request from the DSO and correct the data in PSA. The issue could be a tab or a space in the reference document feild and then save the data. Reconstruct this packet from PSA and then try activating.
Subsequently let the data team/ user know about the correction in the source system as well, in order to avoid any future failures.
This should correct the issue.

Error while activating DTP in BI 7.0

I am facing an error while activating DTP between a ODS and CUBE.
I have converted 3.x update rules and transfer rules to 7.x transformation. Enhancements were carried out on the data source as well. All the objects and transformations were activated. While activating the DTP between the ODS and CUBE i get an error message saying:
"Creation of PSA /BIC/B0000XXX failed.
Error during creation of DDIC sources of Data Transfer Process DTP_<Request Number>
Error when activating Data Transfer Process DTP_<Request Number>"
I have come across a OSS note, 954574, which is relavent to SP09. But we have SP17 installed on our server.
Any pointers on the same would be of great help.

Error while activating update rule in Inventory

I was working with migration of datasource 2LIS_03_BF from 3.x to 7.0 in MM module.
Recieved an error while activating update rule 0RT_C17 2LIS_03_BF in Inventory module.
When I checked the routine ,it shows the following error.
Errror:E:The Dictionary structure or table "/BI0/PMAT_SALES" is either not active or does not exist.
I am not usre how to resolve this.
Kindly reply asap.

1. Activate the master data infoobject for 0MAT_SALES at info object level of RSA1
2. Replicate and Activate the data source once again by using the program > SE38 : RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
3. Then try to migrate you datasource and activate you update rules.

hello friends,
i have two doubts
1)
i am getting the error while creating the structure in se11.
well i am creating the structure in the following way
in component i am giving the values as bom and in component type i am giving the value as meins.
i am getting the status warning message as the below
'field name does not agree with the proposed name base_bom for bapi table'
2)
and more over can we create the structure as the follwing in se11.
component = f1 and
component type = tablename-fieldname
when i am doing in the second way i am getting the error as the following table is not active though the table is active
