Error while booting Tuxedo on Linux machine

Hi,
I am getting following o/p when I run tmboot -y

The CMDTUX_CAT:819 message usually means that the newly booted process died
before it was able to synchronize with tmboot.
In your configuration, you are able to execute tmboot but you cannot execute
any other Tuxedo process. You may want to verify the following:
- Does the value of TUXDIR in your TUXCONFIG file match the directory in
your path for `whence tmboot`? If the TUXDIR in TUXCONFIG points to a
directory containing binaries for some other hardware architecture, then it
would be logical for all of the binaries to be unable to run.
- Is your operating system version a version that has been certified by BEA?
- Verify the executable file type of the binaries using "file
$TUXDIR/bin/BBL". Does the 32-bit/64-bit setting match what you expect, and
are the binaries for the OS that you expect?
- Is there any outstanding shared memory on the system with the IPCKEY
specified in $TUXCONFIG? Tuxedo will detect most such errors by examining a
magic value, but it's possible that the magic value might accidentally match
while the rest of the shared memory is of the wrong format.
I hope this is of help.

The TUXDIR, TUXCONFIG & other Env variables are set properly. I cleaned up all IPC resources but still no luck.
The same configuration was working before. Its when a day before we brought it down started giving trouble.
    Pls advise.

    Hi,
Can you post the entire *RESOURCES section of your ubbconfig file?
Also since this was working and has stopped, I'd verify that in fact there are no remaining processes hanging around. Ideally I'd reboot the machine to see if that clears it up.

  • Facing error while booting tuxedo server

    Hi All,
When i try to boot the tuxedo server, it is being booted properly, But in the ulog, i found an error:
    Failure to post event: Error 6, TPENOENT - no entry found, {osserr=0}
So, that particular tuxedo server is not responding fine.
Kindly, help in solving this issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thankyou in advance
    Keerthika

    Hi Keerthika,
You'll need to provide a little more information in order to determine what is happening. The error message I suspect is being caused by a subscription to the event broker that is to deliver the event to a specific service. At the time the event was posted via tppost(), the service that was subscribed was not available. Can you provide a snippet of your ULOG, what service your event broker subscription uses, and the output of the tmadmin command psc. Any additional information you can provide would be helpful.

The most likely causes of this error are:
    1) Failing to execute tmloadcf after updating the UBBCONFIG file.
    2) Failing to set TUXDIR correctly in the UBBCONFIG file.
    3) Failing to set TUXCONFIG, PATH, or

  • Installing Arch Linux on USB key: error while booting

    Hello,
first of all, I must say I've followed the steps from this article on arch wiki to install archlinux on my USB key: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … _a_USB_key
So what I did is to use one of my 2 usb keys to INSTALL linux, and the second one to RUN linux. I used dd to write on the 1st usb, eveything worked fine when booting, then I do install arch on the my second usb following the stept from the link above, everything works until I get this error while booting (at the middle):
Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/sdc/
Root device '/dev/sdc' doesn't exist. Attempting to create it.
ERROR: Unable to determine major/minor number of root device '/dev/disk/by-uuid/lotsofnumbers'
You are being dropped to a recovery shell
Type 'exit' to try and continue booting
/bin/sh: Can't contact tty; job control turned off
    [ramfs /]#
To summarize I'll show you my conf files that could help you to resolve my problem:
    /etc/fstab.conf
    /dev/sdc1 /boot ext2 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdc2 / ext3 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdc3 /home ext3 defaults 0 1
    So here I've sdc1 boot 32MB partition; sdc2 root 3GB partition; sdc3 home 978MB partition for a total of 4GB USB key~
I didn't make a swap partition as in the tutorial they are writing it's unnecessary for some kind of reasons.
    /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
HOOKS="base udev usb autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems"
I've added to here, "usb" to the hooks
installed GRUB on my sdc, here is the menu.ist:
    # (0) Arch Linux
    title Arch Linux (USB)
    root (hd0,0)
    kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sdc ro vga=773
    initrd /kernel26.img
So, I boot GRUB without problems, start Arch Linux, but then I got this error above.
I've searched alot on some forums and read many stuffs, but sitll can't fix it and it seems complicated.
I've tried to boot with UUID, also, but didn't make difference. I tried to remove some parameter from the hooks, but unfortunately this wasn't working still. I've read somewhere to use chroot, but I didn't catch on how to do that and what was the use of chroot, I'm still noob user of arch linux and currently learning. Maybe it's the problem, as some forum were talking about creating a new image, but I still don't know how to make it. By the way, I'm not sure this could have fixed my current problem. I've also read somewhere it could be due to my lack of space, but I wrote you how I did partition my USB key, let me know if you have any suggestion please.

    1. What I did is re-installing entirely from my installation disk or USB to test out different setting in  my config files, because I don't know how to edit my .conf as I can't really finish to boot to the end and get in terminal mode? If there is a quicker way to edit files from any terminal to go into my current USB sdc to modify directly my file from there, I'd enjoy probably. So rebuilding the initpio, no, I just re-installed to test out different configs.
    2. Yes, same error.
    3. Tested out by-id/by-path and uuid = no difference
    4. Didn't know about larch, it seems to be a nice tool, I'll check it out

    rc.conf -> http://pastebin.com/eJTXVt1L
    mkinitcpio.conf -> http://pastebin.com/u90UQ8kt
udev is actually after base. I'm going to try linux-lts now, I'll let you know, and obviously thanks for your help
EDIT: using lts kernel, I rebooted 5 times and everything works fine, no error message at all
    DSpider wrote:
Post these files (preferably using pastebin.com):
    /etc/rc.conf
    /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
"udev" should be after "base". For example:
HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata usbinput filesystems fsck"
    Then regenerate your initramfs:
    # mkinitcpio -p [your linux preset, since you're using linux-ck... I don't know]
For the kernel from the [core] repo, it's:
    # mkinitcpio -p linux
Speaking of kernels, does it happen with linux-lts too?

    Hello,
To troubleshoot the issue, you need review the dump file. We may find out the which file or driver is triggering a BSOD. And in most cases, BSOD is triggered by driver issue.
Are you doing OS deployment via bootable pendeivce? How do you created the boot image?

  • [SOLVED]LUKS error while booting

This is more of an annoyance than a real problem; however it would be nice to know what is causing this. I have an unencrypted root (/dev/sda3) and two encrypted partitions. While booting I get the following message:
ERROR:Failed to open encryption mapping: The device /dev/sda3 is not a LUKS volume and the crypto= parameter was not specified.
However despite this the root is mounted correctly and the boot process follows normally. My two encrypted volumes also mount correctly. I checked my /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/grub.cfg and didn't see anything that might be giving it the idea that my root partition is encrypted. Am I missing something?
    Thanks,

you probably have "encrypt" in your HOOKS array in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf .
remove it and rebuilt your initramfs with "mkinitcpio -p linux"

  • Satellite M40-256 - error while booting via CD

    Hello,
a well-known friend owns Satellite M40-256 which has Windows problem (error while updating/handling by her children).
She doesn't own an external Toshiba FDD or ODD. Also this portable has no built-in FDD. Buying one only for this issue? NO
The boot priority has been changed to: CD-network-HDD.
I've tried another non Toshiba branded ODD (in BIOS not mentioned/found)
The original ODD works/boots in another pc (via adapter) very great.
Ive tried several CD/DVDs to boot from (no error displayed): instant-Linux like knoppix, suse, other windows CDs, recovery CD, ... no success
Every time the same result: the laptop has a black screen, the ODD speeds up and after about 3 to 5 seconds windows starts with the black-white progress bar.
I also tried to press C to force booting from CD.
Some time ago, I had only access to windows in secured mode. But after uninstalling some updates it ends in a licence problem. This issue can be only solved by booting windows-cd via cd.
It has a Toshiba bios 1.00 (interesting, seems quite old).
I've trying at the moment to boot via network. Does the Toshiba show some messages about succeeding/failing at boot via network or CD?
Has setting the execution bit an influence on behaviour?
Does anybody know a solution booting windows?
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for help.
I will look for an other ODD from Toshiba trying for boot.
Does the toshiba bios show messages about booting via cd or network? Even choosing network ends in a faulty Windows boot.
After choosing an item there's no message while booting
As I mentioned: the most interesting issue is ODD works/boots well via adapter in a normal pc and also after windows has been started (secured mode). But no boot possible.
I suspect meanwhile BIOS or Mainboard. But is there a chance for update in secured mode? (the only thing it starts is "secured with prompt"). Cats bites itself in tail.
BIOS also was saved with default setup. Nothing changed.
In event viewer I've found entry about probs with hard-drive and controller.
Does a destructive data processing influence the toshiba bios

I'm sorry if this is a noob question. Where do I type sudo su because as soon as the OS is booted, the system asks localhost login and password. I haven't installed any desktop environment yet. I only set up a password under arch-chroot but I can't login with and without that password.
I was assuming a normal installed environment with a normal user. Using "sudo su", you can abuse privileges granted by sudo to circumvent the password required by su. A well configured sudo should not allow this, but in this case it seemed likely that the system was not completely set up yet.

    Hi Karthik
Looking at the exception stack trace, looks like the root cause is this error: It is not able to find the class "weblogic/descriptor/DescriptorManager"
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/descriptor/DescriptorManager
Well you need to set the .JAR that has this class in the classpath before you run your command or script. NOW you have to generate something called wlfullclient.jar.
If you are using WLS 10.3.x, here is the link on how to generate a client jar file that has almost all the APIs from weblogic.jar and wls-api.jar etc etc. Most of the times, when we want to run WebServices, EJB clients etc as standalone, we need all these classes. So here is the link on how to generate something called "wlfullclient.jar" and put that in classpath or java build path etc.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html (To create wlfullclient.jar)
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/client/t3.html
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/client/basics.html#wp1069994
NOTE: I already generated this wlfullclient.jar and I do see the above missing class in this .jar file. So hopefully this should solve your issue.
    Thanks
