Error While burning CDs

I have mp3 and m4p songs (bought from iTunes stores) on my PC. I have also completed the authorization process for the non registered songs.
When I try to burn an Audio CD using iTunes, it gives the following error with respect to iTunes music store files.
Please let me know how can one burning iTunes music store files (Protected AAC audio files) to MP3 CDs.

This can be caused by poor quality media ( = poor quality coating).
Not recommended: Memorex, Sony, cheap supermarket offerings
Recomended: Verbatim, Fuji, Maxell, Taiyo Yuden.
Also, use a slow burn speed like 2x or 4x.

  • Errors while burning?

I just put together a pretty simple, one-track video on iDVD and while it was burning, I got a message saying something like "errors while burning" - I did not save the exact message, but I'm wondering what the cause for this might be. I actually closed out of the DVD project, took it to the trash, and recreated a new DVD project out of the iMovie project. I thught this would fix the problem, but there were still errors while burning the second time. I tried to play the DVD and the system would not read the DVD, there was no picture at all. Any suggestions? (I have more then 25GB of free space on my hard drive - about 35 I believe)

    You're welcome. Here's a bit of background:
    a) I use MacJanitor to trigger the Mac's maintenance scripts (download it from VersionTracker.com), and then use Apple's Disk Utility (look in Applications-Utilities) to repair permissions on your main hard drive. Your Mac would do maintenance tasks by itself if it was turned on continuously, but MacJanitor lets you run daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks (I run it before I do something big, or when my Mac seems slow or goofy). Disk Utility can do first aid on hard disks, and on your main hard drive (boot drive), it can Repair Permissions (It's important that permissions are correct).
    b) Creating an image file is often recommended in these forums because it gives you more control over the burning process, and it creates a virtual DVD that reliably can be tested. In iDVD, choose Save As Disc Image and iDVD will go through the encoding and other processes, except the DVD is created on your Desktop. You can use Apple's DVD Player to play the virtual DVD and make sure it works like you want. When you're satisfied, Disk Utility can be used to copy the virtual DVD to an actual disk. To do this, choose the image file in DU and click Burn (you'll have some options for burn speed -- I'd choose something slow to reduce burning errors -- perhaps 1x or 2x but wouldn't go faster than half the rated speed of the burner).
    Shout if you need clarification.

  • Error 4261 issue while burning CDs.

Hi... I have unfortunately received error 4261 while burning iTunes music onto a CD.  Fortunately, others have shared some great information through venues like this.  I have gotten through some of the suggestions on my own, including reducing the burn speed, trying different brands of CDs, and running diagnostics and updates.  My CD-ROM diagnostic did not reveal any problems nor did it indicate any software updates were necessary.  I did install a JAVA update and ran the "microsoft updates."  After I did this, iTunes was no longer working and I had to repair my iTunes installation.  Regardless of the updates and slower burning speeds, I am still having problems.
Others seem to have cited anti-virus and firewall issues as the source to this problem. I haven't gone there yet because I don't want to compromise the integrity of the system since I don't exactly know what to "fix" there.
Here are my iTunes diagnostics for the CD/DVD drive connections.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Error 4000 burning CDs with iTunes 7.1

iTunes checks the disc, then burns 3-4 songs, then cancels the CD burn wasting yet another disc. Also, I cannot backup my purchased songs with the backup feature. Same problems here. I have 2 different computers and tries 2 different CD-Rs and I found out that it has soemthing to do with the new "Protected AAC audio file" format.
Open iTunes, click on music, on the listing side of the screen right click on name, and then click on "kind".
I bet you can't burn anything with the "Protected AAC audio file."
No solutions yet, so just don't buy anything else from iTunes for now.

  • Error while burning itunes playlist

I've burned many discs in the past from itunes playlists. However, now I am getting an error. The songs are successfully copied to the disc, but when I drag the disc icon to the trash (where the burn symbol shows up) it seems to start to work but then I get the following error, "An error occured while burning disc. This disc cannot be used." I tried several different discs CD-R and CD-RW. I tried using disc utility to burn. I CAN burn other files like word documents etc. It seems to just be songs that won't burn. I recently updated to itunes 7. Any advice?

Please note, I have read through all the trouble shooting help. I have the preferences set to burn "audio CD" which seems to be the problem for others. aaargh! Really frustrated!

  • M30-842: Power Calibration error while burning DVD-RW

    Burning CDs is ok.
Please help me with the problem, how can I solve it? SOS!

    Hi Semen
Can you please try to use roxio software built into Windows XP? There is also the same option. It will be interesting to know if this problem is caused by software that you use or if there is some malfunction of your device.

  • Volume control while burning CDs

When I burn CDs from itunes there are songs with different natural volumes. I've tried checking and unchecking the "use sound check" option in edit/preferences/advanced/burning, but the volumes of different songs are still different after burning to a CD. Does anyone know how to set all volumes to the same level on the CD?

Sound Check for burning does not work as advertised, and has not ever done so thru all the releases that I have used. You can try manually adjusting the volume of the individual wayward tracks, via Get Info > Options > Volume Adjustment.

  • Multiplex Error - While Burning Disc Image

I've been trying to burn an hour and a half dvd using idvd '08 on professional quality, coming from and AIC HDV project in final cut express 3.5. It takes around 5 hours to encode and then for the third time it's given me a multiplexer error at the end. Is there anyway to solve this?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Do you have 20GB+ free on your start-up drive? Do you have any external HDs attached?
Your MacBook Pro hasn't frozen up while encoding?
    There is 10.5.2 available today.

  • Error While Burning to Disc

I've tried to burn two separate DVD files to disc using iDVD 5.0.1. Both times a dialogue box came up saying "Burning Finished. Errors were found during the burning process" The recording device reported the illegal request: Cannot write medium – incompatible format. (0x30, 0x05.)"
Any ideas on what this means and how I can fix it?

I've used Memorex a couple times and it was okay, but others have reported problems. Never have used Staples, but even the best brands regularly go on sale around here at good prices. If it's something important, I'd recommend buying a top brand on sale (very little price penalty).
Here's my flock of ideas to try before Thanksgiving -- if I was to guess, I'd say your hard drive went to sleep and caused the error -- but here's my burn process:
Do something small first; get some experience before you need to do a big project.
Lots of memory helps; and you'll need 10-15 gigs of free space on your main hard drive for scratch space while iDVD is working.
Buy good quality disks - I've seen recommendations for Maxell, Sony, Verbatim, TDK and a few others based on testing. I primarily use the first two and usually don't have trouble.
    Give yourself lots of time.
Turn off your screen savers and energy savers; don't let your hard drive go to sleep.
Get your computer healthy and ready for some heavy lifting. (video work could be the hardest job your computer can do) MacJanitor followed by Apple's DiskUtility's Repair Permissions is my routine.
Most of the time iDVD is working, it is encoding (compressing) your video to fit on the DVD. Reduce the errors in this process by creating an image file (by using the Save as Disc Image command), and use Toast or Disk Utility to burn it to disk. Burn slow (1 or 2x).
I keep my projects under 60 minutes (for highest resolution).
Try testers; you can use DVD-RW.
I import into iDVD rather than export from iMovie (fewer errors).
    No other apps open.
Let it encode and burn while you go to bed; it can take awhile, esp. on older Macs.
If you use iDVD for burning the DVD (and don't make a disk image), don't quit iDVD even when the DVD is burned, until you've played the DVD in a regular player (it's much easier to burn another disk and check to see if the problem was a bad disk, than to go back through all that encoding again by quitting iDVD).

  • Error while burn data into Disk

    Hi guys,
Trying to burn a data (mov) to a DVDR but it's failed and prompt out the error as below
The disc can’t be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media.
What's that means? I've try to burn in 8x, 4x...
    Thanks for help.

    Hi there,
I can't try that one I'm delivering my photographic work  to a client and it as to be organized as files in folders.
I've seen lot of posts of the same issue since 2005 and no one is really giving a relieving answer.
I've checked every single proposal to sort this, but...
It was working perfectly well on my macbook pro, until some months ago, as it was still working with CD,
I said to myself to go ahead with the second computur (i.mac) I have in the office.
While in the middle of recording DVD for my client the SCARY message did appear again once, splitted to another DVD support that did work, than again, errathic for a while, but now nothing else to do, changing DVD brand, cleaning CD, permissions, software updates, burning from another software, burn a disk image from disk utility or whatever was suggested here in these years.
That's two computers bought at the same time with 3 years of work behind and both are getting the DVD lens old already? Isn't this a bit ridiculous for a so expansive brand as apple.
Any other idea I may not have tried?
    Cheers

  • "This disc could not be verified" error when burning CDs

Every time I try to run the CD Burner, the disk seems to finalize then I get this error message:
*This disc could not be verified and might be unreliable. Try again using a new, blank disc. (Error code 0x80020063).*
I have tried with many blank disks and different data (text files, music files, etc). The CDs I am using are blank Memorex CD-RWs.
This machine is using a Matshita DVD-R UJ-845, here's the rest of the info from the System Profiler if it helps:

What can I do to get my CD burner working?

All good suggestions...thanks to all of you weighing in. I have had no issues buring DVDs or CDs (7 months) until this week and am a bit puzzled. Since this verify issue popped up, I've tried buring data from various sources and had some success. As such, I suspect it's not a hardware problem.
I was able to review 1500 JPEGS burned to 1 DVD one-by-one until I found the single file that was an issue. I did this on an XP machine and got a 'cyclic redundancy' error which leads me to believe that I've got a software problem tied to a recent update.
That file is not corrupted at the source and can be copied individually without issue. I've varied burn speeds, media types, file types and data sources and have not been able to identify why 3 of 11 have worked.
The first DVD I burned using dic utility at 4x worked. I felt good that I had a workaround to burning via finder but 3 subsequent attempts with disc utility have failed, too.

  • Error while burning a movie to DVD using iDVD

I have burned a 2 other movies this week but the last movie I tried to burn didn't work. I tried 3 times (once after restarting the computer and once starting over from iMovie) but each time I got the same error at the end.
    Multiplexer Error
The was an error during building. The discs is still untouched and may be reused later.
    Thanks for any help.

I had that problem until I remove a good deal of stuff from my 500 GB drive and left about 100. I hear from this forum you need at least 25 GB free. Try it...see if that works....also, burn at the slowest speed possible.

  • Internal Software Error while Burning to DVD Disc

I am using PE3 and during the latter part of the burn, the process stopped and the following error message was displayed.

I assume that you are using Encore CS4 for this Project. Is that correct?
Now, let's look at your SlideShows. Is there any chance that the Audio is longer than the Video (the slides and their Duration), by even one Audio Unit? If so, then extend the Duration of the Video by a tiny amount. I do my SlideShows in PrPro, and always have about 2-3 Frames more Video, than Audio. I find Encore's SlideShow feature to be rudimentary at best. Also, make sure that your still images have been resized to the Project's Frame Size, outside of Encore. This would be true if you were doing SlideShows in PrPro too.
Last thing, Encore can have issues with MPEG Audio. This can either be in muxed AV files, or Audio streams, like MP3. In general terms, MPEG is not even an optional Audio stream for DVD-Video. In PAL-land, it is "optional," but that is falling out of favor. The exception is the DD AC3 Audio stream, but it is unique. If I had MP3's, I would convert to PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit outside of Encore, and NOT use anything MP3. If I am doing the Transcoding in PrPro, prior to Import into Encore, I always do so as elemental/elementary streams, i.e. one Audio-only and one Video-only file. I then Import the Video-only file as a Timeline, and the Audio-only file as an Asset. Once into Encore, I just drag the Audio-only file to the appropriate Timeline, where it snaps into place.
Oh, one more thing: ganging Assets on the same Timeline can be problematic, and for some of the things mentioned above, like slightly longer Audio, than Video, plus gaps. I always have one Video Asset per Timeline, and then use Play Lists for my navigation.
Good luck, and hope that this helps.
    Hunt
PS - if this is related to Encore, there is a great forum for that program, with some excellent subscribers, like Jeff Bellune and Neil Wilkes. You can get some very good and specific responses from them. Here is the Encore Forum link - see you there.
