Error while disabling passive mode while connecting

Hi,
I am trying to connect to FTP server, however when I DO NOT
check the "Disable passive mode" check box, I am able to connect,
but then I am not able to view the files that are directly in the
directory. for .eg. if within "MyDir" directory there are "MyDir1",
"MyDir2" directories and "MyFile1" and "MyFile2" files, then I will
not see "MyFile1" and "MyFile2". However when I try to connect by
checkinig the option of "Disable passive mode" then I get the error
"Access violation at address 004ED037 in module 'homesite45.exe'.
Read of address 00000014."
I am not able to resolve this issue. Pls give some inputs if
nebody knows abt it.

Disabling Sleep mode while on dock

Hi there, I got my iphone about 3 weeks ago and I'm loving it.. I've already replaced my clock radio with it thanks to it's awesome multiple alarm times and schedules I can set for different days.
The query I have is a bit of a weird one. When I place my phone in it's dock next to the bed the charging icon comes up and the clock is displayed above that. All well and good.
However, as you would expect, the screen goes to sleep after 30sec. What I'm wondering (and I can't seem to see a way) is there a way to disable the screen sleep when the phone is on it's dock and charging. I would love to just use my phone as a clock next to the bed when I'm at home so I can easily glance at it and tell when time it is (say if I wake up in the middle of the night) rather than having to fumble around for it and unlock it.
Does anyone know a way to do this? Or is this just "not a feature (tm)"

Go for it, I would probably get it. But Auto-lock would still have to be set for never, or the screen would sleep anyway. You could also just open up the Clock app (with Auto-Lock set to never) for a somewhat larger clock display. Unfortunately, you can't set it for "docked."
Yes you would have to turn this on/off depending if it was in the dock if you were concerned about not locking it before you set it down or put it away. I always have Auto-lock set to never because I always press the sleep button when I put it away.

IPS reactions in passive mode

we are planning to deploy cisco IPS 4200 series on our network. We have a redundant network so what I need is an a device that would react to threats(via acl, shun, resets) while in passive mode ( using span or taps). couple of questions
1- Is this device capable of preventing threats whilein passive mode.
2- What is the diffrence between cisco IDS and IPS series ?

Hi!
The Cisco 4200 IDS series work as IPS also when used with version 5.0. This means that you can use an IDS/IPS device as a tap in a line to "prevent" attacks by not passing attacking packets. Of course this is a mode of operation, and if you just want to use the device as IDS you can. As IDS you will "monitor" VLANs o ports usually, from a span port. The IDS will alarm and send resets (if configured for) to prevent attacks. You can also configure the IDS to put ACL on border routers or PIX to stop the offending traffic (this may require some tedious and carefull config).
Consider deploying Cisco ASA5500 appliances also. They are IDS/IPS, FW, VPN, and much more.

Alex just a quick response to your advice re disabling AV, this did not work for me, after more searching the internet for a solution I found a post from 2013 where one poster offered the advice to go one step further, and it was to remove the AV package
completely, the package in question was KIS2013. I have KIS2015 and figured I would try it as I was getting a little frustrated with the constant failure to create a virtual switch.
Anyway, it worked for me, I removed KIS, rebooted, and the VS was created on the first attempt without any issue. So simply pausing/disabling the AV from within the AV program may not be enough, I suspect that some may work and others not, as in the case
of KIS. I wonder also if you disable the AV services at start-up if this would also work but I did not try it.
Anyway to other people experiencing this issue, I suggest disabling AV first as per Alex's advice, and if this does not work for you then suggest trying to remove the AV before doing anything more drastic like re-installation of OS as I have seen suggested
in more than one place.

Just wanted to add, it is also worth 'excluding' any Hyper-V folders from the AV engine, I did not try this before removing KIS2015 so it may work without the need to remove your AV product, but on re-install I have now exluded the folders as suggest by
a few folks in various posts...

Has somebody set the database ready for archiving, maybe some maxl has been run and the db has not been returned from read only mode.
Try running the following Maxl (change app.db to match your app/db)
alter database app.db end archive;

Can't save BISM file pointing to excel sheet (data source). ErrMsg: "There were errors found while validating the page: Cannot connect to the server or database."

Me and a collegue is administrering our new enterprise BI portal in SharePoint 2013 (On Premise) and have a problem with using a specific Excel file including general ledger data as data source through a BISM file.
This particular BISM file can't be saved without getting the error message "There were errors found while validating the page: Cannot connect to the server or database."
BISM files against other Excel sheets and sources (for example SSAS tabular databases) works well.
Can anyone help us pinpointing whats wrong here, this is a really important stakeholder in our organization requesting this reporting?

I am trying to connect to BI trouggh my application. I am following one of the document which i got from SDN. But now i am getting ERROR : Cannot get data set while connecting to BI. Can any one tell me why i am getting this error.
