00600 errors should be raised as service request with Oracle as it implies some internal bug.
You can search oracle support first to see if anyone has had the same class of 00600 error, and then if not (and therefore no patch) raise your issue with Oracle.

The standard advice is to contact Oracle Support. Frequently the solution is to upgrade to a later patch version.
But you might be fortunate. If you tell us your database version and OS platform we might be able to help you. Do you have any wrapped PL/SQL?

That's strange... it wasn't installed.. although I had never,ever faced a problem while compiling packages via AUR.. maybe, I should be careful when uninstalling orphans.. thanks for the help..

ORA-00600: internal error code while drop package !

I am using oracle 10g in Oracle Ent Linux 5.0 . Now I want to drop a user , when I give the 'drop user' command I got the below error :

Then I try to manually drop all the object of the specified schema . All objects are dropped except a 'PACKAGE' . When I manually drop that PACKAGE
again then I found the above error again . Now I am sure that this 'package' is the main culprit .
Now would anyone please help me how I drop this package manually ?

Glad to know that its solved.
The cause of this issue is not known. It is believed that importing into a database where these pipelined functions already exist may be the cause, but testing has failed to reproduce the problem.
In one of the bugs logged for a similar issue, problem will normally happen only on upgrade and not under regular running of the DB. Therefore, it should be of relatively low impact to the real users. Also, Upgrading to 11g you shouldn't encounter this problem.

Ora-00604,ora-01422 error while dropping the table

I am using Oracle 10g R2 on windows 2000 platform,while dropping the table the following error occured.
ORA-00604 : error occurred at recursive sql level 1.
ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.
Need urgent help.

Is there an AFTER EVENT trigger defined on this database? Can you check that?
Secondly, was this database migrated from earlier version? I remember having seen this problem on 9i (it was 9.2.0.1 or 9.2.0.2; I can't recall exactly).

ORA-12571 error while creating packages from Windows clients

Hello,
We are facing the ORA-12571 error while creating / replacing packages from Windows Clients connected to a 8.1.7.2.0 db on a Solaris server.
However, there are
1. no errors in connecting and creating transactions from a Sql session
2. no errors in creating / replacing unwrapped/wrapped small (few lines) packages
3. no errors in connecting from a Unix session (remote telnet sessions inclusive).
This happens only when creating wrapped/unwrapped packages, source code of which is greater than 500 kb approx.
Can somebody help me resolve this issue. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I had unintentionally left my custom tablespace in READONLY state after an earlier experiment with transportable tablespaces. After putting the tablespace back into READ WRITE mode and creating a new template, I was successfully able to create a new db from the template.
I'm still a little curious why this procedure wouldn't work properly with a READONLY tablespace, however.

Partitioned nested table error while dropping one partition

All,
I created a partitioned table which is also a nested table as you can see below. I got FK constraint error while attempting to drop a partition, however, I could not find the FK in order to disable it since it's underlying table emp_list_p which is not visiable to applications. How could I drop the partition in this case?

With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
If you look closely, there is a unique index on dept_p. Oracle does not advertise it.
One of the options is that you may have to delete the rows in the partition first,
then drop the partition.

Error while compiling package

While compiling an invalid package i get this error, But the coding in the package has no error.

I have similar problem.
I droped all object from scheme but one package won't drop.
Now when I try drop this package or user,
I get ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [psdtyfnd_with_suffix], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
There is no possibility to drop, recompile, replace this package. Everithing ends with error. There is no other object in scheme.
Even package has no body. So I try to create it. Package body was created with warnings but I still can't see it. When I create it again then I get ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object.
I use Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.3.0 on Linux
All experiments I do as SYSDBA.

Error while dropping/creating new queue table

Hi,
I am trying to modify an existing AQ setup. In the process, I had to remove a queue and redirect all its subscriptions to another queue.
I get an oracle "sequence does not exist" while trying to drop the queue table. The sequence of operations that I am carrying out is:
disable propagation schedule
unschedule propagation
stop queue
drop queue
drop queue table
The error occurs when the drop statement is executed.
I tried restoring the existing configuration, but got the same error message while trying to add a subscription.
Could you help me with this problem? What am I missing here?

In what version of Oracle?
I see a couple of problems assuming you are working with a currently supported version:
1. Never grant CONNECT to anyone: Ever. Grant CREATE SESSION.
2. GRANT CREATE TABLE to AQ;
Go to Morgan's Library at www.psoug.org and look at AQ Demo 1. You should have no problem cutting and pasting your way to where you are trying to go.

Hi,
job names follow the same rules as for table names. To use a job or table name starting with a number or with special characters you need to use double quotes around the name e.g. dbms_scheduler.drop_job('"123"',false);
If you are trying to drop a dbms_job job you should use dbms_job.

Error while compiling packages

Hi All,
i have been asked to execute some packages. so i took the backup of the existing package by using dbms_metadata and spool.
Now i have been asked to revert it again back to the original.
When i am executing the old backup one again i am getting error. It was valid before. I know the error is due to not proper fromatting, as in vi editor when i am seeing it its coming like this may be due to improper pagesize and linesize setting while spooling
