'Error while initiating form'

Hi All,
Need some help here. Initially, I received the error 'Error while initiating form' in Travel Expense when clicking on the 'results' button in PR05. I've managed to settle that bit by following to the advice from other post. Unfortinately, i'm sill getting the same error when i want to view my expense report via ESS (Portal). I'm getting the same error message. Is there anything that i've left out? Thanks

Thank you for your reply it helped me to solve the problem in R/3. But I am still getting the same error in ESS portal? Do I have to set the ADS settings for the form to display portal, then will the same error come back in R/3?

Hi,
It seems to be a config issue.
If you don't use Adobe but ABAP Forms check/change one of:
1) the customizing in the IMG activity "Travel Expenses Control (Expert View)":
Set the indicator "Other Settlement" in the column 24 for the appropriate trip provision variant to the value: 0 (active), 1 (not active), 2 (not active only in PR05 and PR04)
or
2) the data in the table V_T702N_A - double click your variant on "Accounting Control in Expert View:Overview" screen and change the value as above on Deails screen.

I have done the basic config of the position 24 to Abode form active also checked the Table TA20SWITCH with the entry 'HTMLFORM_R_P', value 'X'

Error while initializing the travel form

Hi Guys,
In the ESS, when I try to display the travel, the system displays the following message "Error while initializing the travel form".
I've consulted the BASIS, and he said that Adobe is already installed in the machine.
Someone knows how can I fix this problem?

Check the Variant "TRVFR".
Check whether the Name of the Travel request Form is maintained or not?

PR05 Travel Expense Manager.Messag : Error while initiating travel form

Hi,
We're upgrading from 4.6C to ECC6.0 . With transaction PR05 we're getting error message .
Transaction PR05 -> entered in personnel no XXXXXXXXX and pressed the green checkmark. I then select a line - for this I selected the second line that said Transferred PAY. I then hit the RESULTs button on the menu bar and get the following error message:
"Error while initiating travel form"
Message no. 56568
Please advise how to fix issue.

My first participation.
Entry the transaction SE16N in the table V_T702N_A and click F8.
Select your variant code and double click.
Displays 30 column (3 groups with 10 column) and 6 lines.
Change the column 4 (third group) and line 5 (Others calculation), is satisfied with 0, should change to 1.

ECC6 - PR05 - Error while initiating travel form

We can not have PDF forms since it requires Java stack which is not
installed on the system. we looked into the option of
changing config to use the old ABAP form instead.
We changed the config from 0 to 1 to desactivate the PDF form and issue is resolved.

MSS - Error while initiating Travel Form

Hi All,
After applying travel request from ESS, request go to the Manager Self Service of his/her immediate boss.
In the universal worklist of MSS when manager clicks on the link of travel request - Error Comes as:
"Error while initiating travel form "
Basis and EP Guys are not able to identify the problem.
Kindly let me know if any configuration is required in ECC or any activities to be done in EP.

Hi Edwin,
per default, the Forms of Travel Management use the PDF-Format. For the generation of these PDFs "Adobe Document Services" must be installed on a java server and published via SM59 to the respective HCM Backend. If ADS is not available, Travel Management will still try to use it, thus you get this error. So your options are:
1. Tell your Basis Guys they need to install and configure ADS on a java Server and make A connection in SM59 on the respective HCM Backend.

2. You can change the displayed Format from PDF to HMTL by doing the following:
- Go to Customizing Travel Management --> Travel Planning --> Expert View --> Define Enterprise-Wide Control Parameters
- Make a new entry and choose HTMLFORM_R_P for attribute and X for value. Save.
- Go to Customizing Travel Management --> Travel Expenses --> Travel Expenses Control --> Travel Expenses Control Expert View
- Set the Parameter of Other Settlement No. 24 (number four for the right matrix) from 0 TO 1, thus setting Adobe Forms inactive.

Error message:Error while initiating travel form

Hi,
I have two trip provision variants. In my 1st trip provision variant i am able to stimulate and view results using PR05 and TRIP. Employees assigned to my 2nd trip provision variant when i stimtulate the result using PR05 or TRIP the system throws an error of "Error while initiating travel form".
Can any one throw some light what the error is about and how do i fix it.

There will be a ADS configuration for PDF, We also got may times this error ! there is nothing to worry about,
There we ill be one User Id for communication , If that is locked this error will occurs or check ADS configuration .

Error while initiating travel form-Portal

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue in portal - when I try to Display/Print the travel expense form-I am unable to see the PDF and the message that i get is "Error while initiating travel form". I am using EP7.0 SP17, have checked ADS configuration and is working fine. I have changed the value from 1 to 0 for order settlement(Field 24) also. When we restart the server, we will be able to see the PDF for few minutes, but after some time, the same error. Plz help me with solutions.

and statement at line specified is insert statement. and at end
of insert statement Returning caluse is there as follows

I haven't seen the ora-03116 problem.
What version of Portal are you running? Are the databases at the same version? Does your table have longs or anything strange in it?
Can you query the table via the synonyms and link in sqlplus as the application schema? This is a good test because it eliminates Portal.
You should try setting up synonyms etc for the emp table. If you still get the problem then Oracle may be able to replicate it. If not, then there's sth funny about your table maybe.
I agree with Vishnu about creating everything in sqlplus. I create all my links and synonyms in sqlplus. They are all public. I have 2 synonyms: one takes you over the link the other takes you to the right schema. It's flexible and it works.
data database: D grants to P (local schema) on table T
public syn T = D.T (sys) (get the right schema)
portal dbase : public db link to data database connecting as P
public syn T = T@dblink (sys) (over the link)
P is a schema created in both databases.
Test is: P in portal dbase can "select * from T" and gets the right data.
I never, ever refer to a schema when defining a form. ie. never P.T or D.T or whatever. I always refer simply to a synonym. For the above my form would be defined simply on the table T.

Error while generating form 16 in portal - Screen output without connection

Dear Gurus,
We are facing error while generating form 16 through portal and getting the below error in portal.
Screen output without connection to user. error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
When we checked for dumps in R/3 the following dump is coming:
DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND with error message :
Message class : FPRUNX
Message number: 102: No job started.
Then we tried to execute the form 16 through R/3 itself using tcode PC00_M40_F16 after putting in the relevant values in the selection screen and then press on PRINT FORM button, but surprisingly the system logs out without giving any error or dump.
We tried doing it repeatedly and once in these attempts we got an error saying Initialization of font server module failed.
We are not getting clue as to why this is happening. <<Text removed>>

This might be the problem of Adobe Acrobat Reader. what is the version of Adobe you are using ?? If it 9.0, then uninstall it and reinstall 8.0 and then check .
Could you please check your installed SAPGUI component? If component 'Engineering Client Viewer' is installed, please uninstall
it. And try to call same transaction again.
