Error While Installing Itunes (Please help)

Alright, just went on apple.com, installed the newest itunes, and downloaded the setup, started the installation, and it stops at one part that says stopping services. Now i have no clue what that means or what its doing, but after about 10 minutes it pops up a message that says.
Service
'##IdString1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC5BB94B879762##' (Bonjour Service) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services.
[Retry] [Cancel]
Now, ive retried it and it just does the same thing. Please someone tell me what to do. Ive completely cleared every single thing that had to do with itunes off my computer then redownloaded and installed it. Nothing works. I am on the admin account on my computer, and always will be, so nothing different there. I had itunes before, and it worked, but it stopped opening, like i could click it and it would act like its loading, then nothing would open. So i tried this today and this is what ive been getting for the past few hours. Please respond ASAP.

Use that MS installer cleanup to get rid of iTunes first, then QuickTime.
Actually, I should back up. Go to the article I link below, and scroll down to the section

    the error is as follows:

please help me clear this problem.
    sony laptop   Windows Vista
    sony laptop   Windows Vista

regsrv32.exe - the program you are trying to run should normally be in:
c:\Windows\System32 (assuming a standard set up)
You could check to see if it is there. If it is you could try putting the path in front of the command so it would be as follows:
    c:\Windows\System32\regsvr32 vbscript.dll
The problem may be caused by an incorrect environmental variable setting. If you want to try and fix it, the following link gives a description how to do it.

  • Error while installing itunes software on windows vista 32 bit operating system.

Hi friends,I am getting an itune installation error,Microsoft.VC80.CRT.version=8.0.50727.4053,The operating system in windows vista,i donwloaded itunes with IE as well as firefox, but always same error message is coming. Please help me out with this error.

I browsed this page earlier, and now im back to explain how i fixed my problem which is similar to yours.
All of the below must be followed manually: (that windows msgbox error is just confusing you) be reminded that:
%appdata% is not a network location. It is a systemwide variable used by Windows OS. %appdata% is a directory on your computer
I have win 7 OS, and i tweaked the below values so the Nokia_PC_Suite will install:
follow ALL of the following one by one:
    -----first, the package----
first, go to the file which you downloaded from the net, (usually: Nokia_PC_Suite_eng_web.exe) right click the file and click properties, then click the compatibility tab and tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" then (select your OS on drop down box) then also click the lowermost button, "Run this program as administrator" then click OK. and close the properties box.
----second, the registry----(carefull a little mistake will render your machine unusable, so don't mess inside registry)
enter your registry by >> Start > Run > "type" regedit (without the word type) expand the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders, (on the right pane) you will see AppData, double click AppData and change the value to: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
do the above to below location also: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
    ----third, Windows environment variables----
in your windows, right click the "My Computer", then click "Properties" then click the Advanced tab, on the lowermost of the window click the button [Environment Variables], click edit and change the value of "Temp" to variable value: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming.
Now double click (re-install) the Nokia package which you have downloaded from Nokia website and i hope it will install flawlessly this time

  • Error won't let me install iTunes - please help !

When I have tried to download the latest version of iTunes so that I can update my iPhone the software won't install correctly. I even un-installed iTunes and tried from scratch.
I get so far then get the error message "Could not write value to key \software\classics\itunes.m4r verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnal".
I'm using Vista and had turned off the spyware software and have administration rights.
Can anyone help please, at the moment I have no iTunes !!!!
    Thanks

Could you confirm the full error message and is it identical when you try to install and uninstall?
These permission issues can be tricky.
To start you need to download the iTunes installer from:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
And save it on your PC. ( You may already have done that.)
Try running it with "Run as Administrator". (You can access this by right clicking on the installer.
You can also try running the installer from another administration account.
Failing that, find the key mentioned in the error message using Regedit. I assume it is HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\iTunes.m4r
Right click on it an select permission then advanced. Apart from some other permissions, you should have Administrators and SYSTEM with full control, inherited from ...software\classes and it should apply to this key and sub-keys.
    Is that what you have?

  • Cannot open key error while installing itunes on windows vista 64bit

I have downloaded iTunes to my desktop, disconnected from net, disabled firewall, and ran as administrator. Now I get an error saying: Could not open Key: UNKNOWN\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BDOAF18C3B9B1AEE8\FD563AF386D2DE54F8388C8A8336 E1534 verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact you support personnel. Any suggestions??? Have tried for several weeks, to get iTunes 9.0 to install & run, am very frustrated, please help!!!

This is caused by a permissions issue with some of the apple registry keys. You need to uninstall every apple application and fix the registry permissions. I have written up the details of this below which I am sending to Apple support:
Issues with Iphone Sync on Windows 7 64x after migration
    1) Uninstall all Apple Software components in the order recommended
    a. Itunes
    b. Quicktime
    c. Apple Software update
    d. Apple mobile device Support (Note: If this does not uninstall – It could be related to Registry permissions. Make sure to do Step 4)
    e. BonJour
    f. Apple Application Support
    2) Verify all Itunes Related components are completely uninstalled (Refer to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923)
    3) Try to Reinstall Itunes
    4) If you receive Error during install : Cannot Open Key: UNKNOWN Components/
    a. Get into the registry Start >> Search Programs and Files >> Regedit
    b. Access the following Location: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Co mponents
    c. Perform the following actions
    i. Right Click on Components Folder
    ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
    iv. Select Advanced Button
    v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
    ix. Select Apply
    x. Select Apply again
    xi. Exit the Registry Editor
    5) Reinstall Itunes
    Good Luck

  • Error while installing iTunes 8 on Leopard 10.5.5

I've been trying to install the latest iTunes (8) to my machine along with all the other software updates, and while I was able to get all my other updated to load successfully (including the update to 10.5.5), my iTunes update keeps giving me the following message:

    Thank you for any help

  • SetupAdmin.exe-Application error while installing itunes and quicktime

Everytime I try to install iTunes or standalone QuickTime, I get the error SetupAdmin.exe - Application error :
"The instruction at "0x76c941a9" referenced memory at ")x76c941a9". The memory could not be read. "
and the installation finishes. After that I can see a QuickTime icon on Desktop which works fine but there is no iTunes icon.
I have followed all the steps of uninstallation properly as per these links :
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
I have also checked the msconfig startup taskbar, there is no Qttask.exe program running.
    Please help me out.

Try installing QuickTime standalone, not regular
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
If that installs OK, perhaps the iTunes installation will go through.
If there is any error number druing either install, please post it.

  • Can't install itunes, PLEASE Help

Hello! first of all thanks for clicking on this and having a look at my issue.
I have a problem with downloading itunes, it goes all through the installation gets to the end and comes up with this nonsense error message anyone know what this is about? please help, thanks!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Hi Fariha I have the exact opposite of what you are experiencing.Mine is in a stopped state and refuses to start. lol. Its in the link below.

I might be able to piggy back on your thread. First of all have you triedd stopping the service though task manager? Do that and see if there is an error message. I hope someone can suggest a registry hack that may solve this IPOD service issue.
