Error While Installing SOA Suite 10.1.3
Hi,
I have uninstalled the SOA suite (advance installation) from M/C.I am trying to install SOA suite on my M/C but I am getting error message as
Install has detected the OAS 10.13 is already installed in this oracle home. Please choose another Oracle Home.It is giving dependencies error.
I am making sure that there is no directory which I am giving in the installation directory but as soon as I am giving the instance name and AS admin password with the Basic install option and clicking the Install tab
It is giving the above message.I can clear the see that it is creating new directory and referring it.
Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue?
Thanks
Hi,
you are installing on Linux or Windows?
There is a directory called oraInventory. You have to delete that one, because Oracle stores information about all installations in that directory. But be careful:
If you have other Oracle products installed, you should not remove this directory.
You can try to use the OUI to perform a uninstall. After that the oraInventory should be clean...

I have restarted opmn services, disabled the firewall also, but couldnot get rid of the problem. when i checked status through "/.opmnctl status" command, ASG was down...should i have to bring it up?
how do i trobleshoot?
Thanks
JILDo an opmnctl startall and an opmnctl status afterwards.
It happens for me to when I install it on VMware images but these are slower. I usually don't stop the installation but retry the configuration assistant.

Error while installing SOA suite
Hi,
These are the sequence of steps I did on my windows machine
1. Installed Oracle XE 10.2.0.1.0 database
2. Ran rcu 11.1.1.2 to create schemas required
3. Installed WLS 10.3.1.0
4. Installed Loop back adapter as I am using DHCP host.
5. Installed SOA 11.1.1.2
6. While installing JDEV 11.1.1.2 I am getting following error and not able to proceed..
The product maintenance level of the current installer (weblogic10.3.2) is not compatibale with the maintenance level of the product installed on your system (Weblogic 10.3.1) please obtain a compatible installer or perform maintenance on your current system to achieve the desired result.
Please let me know how to proceed?
Thanks!!
Edited by: user644377 on Jan 22, 2010 4:31 AMI want to use WLS 10.3.1 only, can i just uninstall SOA 11.1.1.2 and install SOA 11.1.1.1??
Looks like I have to drop the repositories created by RCU 11.1.1.2 and re-create using RCU 11.1.1.1 to use SOA 11.1.1.1 ????
Please let me know the optimal steps to do now (what to un-install and install) to get the SOA 11.1.1.1 environment.
And I didnot see RCU/SOA/JDEV 11.1.1.1 software in OTN. So I used 11.1.1.2.
Please provide me the link for 11.1.1.1 software.
Thanks!!! -
Errors while Starting SOA Suite and Unable to login to BPEL Control
Hi,
I installed SOA Suite 10g Release 3 on my laptop and I have Windows XP operating system on my laptop.
I am trying to login to BPEL control.
I did following steps.
a) started SOA Suite (Mid tier status is showing as 100%) but OC4JGroup:default_group status is showing as Init and ASG status as Down.
b) I tried to login to BPEL control by entering user id: oc4jadmin and password I entered while installing SOA Suite, BPEL control is giving me error message invalid user name or password.
I tried to build CreditRatingService using BPEL developer prompt.
Select Start > All Programs > Oracle - Oracle_Home > Oracle BPEL Process Manager > Developer Prompt to open up a command prompt at the SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\samples directory.
Changed directories to the utils\CreditRatingService subdirectory:
cd utils\CreditRatingService
Entered the following command: ant
I got message:BUILD FAILED and Authentication failed for user oc4jadmin on host.

Hi,
I am trying to install SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0 on Linux Environment.

2) Also, how from where can I download these packages and how do I install them?
OS Version is: Oracle Linux 5 Update 7

VarunHi Avi,
Thanks for your reply.
I was able to install the packages, not eactly the same way as u told but I downloaded them from http://public-yum.oracle.com/ and installed them manually. Was also able to change parameters.
And Bingo, there was no pre-requisite failures while installing SOA.
One of the probs that I'm facing now is that when I try to access the WLS Console of SOA after creating domain, I'm able to open it on the local machine using IP and localhost. But it doesn't work the same way when I use hostname. It gives an error saying No Route to the Host. Also I'm not able to access WLS Console from any other machine using IP address of the machine.
Any inputs that can be of any help.
Cheers,

DB Version Error when install SOA Suite using with DB 10G 10.2.0.1
Hi,
I am trying to install SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 in Windows XP environment where an Oracle 10g database 10.2.0.1 is pre-installed. When I try to use Advanced Installation, the system says that my database version should be 10.2.0.2 or higher. I couldn't find any 10.2.0.2 version or higher for Windows XP on Oracle download site. There is only 10.2.0.3 for Windows Vista. Anyone knows whether there is a workaround?
Thanks in advance,
JeffHi, I met this problem some weeks early. I wrote a conlusion about this:
Update Oracle Database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2 on Windows XP
When I install Oracle SOA Suite 10g Release 3(10.1.3.x, soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1.zip download from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/soa/index.html), a error occured. Because the version of Oracle Database on my laptop is 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1). Then I download the update patch p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip from metalink.oracle.com and install the database without installing the starter database and instance (orcl). After this, use p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip to updata Oracle Database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2 and then use DBCA to install a new database and instance (orcl).
Summary:
1. patch: p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip downloaded from metalink.oracle.com
2. only install Oracle database software, don't install any database or instance
3. use p4547817_10202_WINNT.zip to update the database software
4. use DBCA to install a new database
Question:
1. how to update when there already exist data in database?
2. Oracle database express edition isn't stabile enough? Because there are always some error appear during SOA Order Booking demo using. -

Error while installing SOA, "Could not create java virtual machine"
I am trying to install SOA latest release, but am getting an error stating "Could not create java virtual machine" and just that. No log, nothing. Could anybody help me out on this?
Is JRE installed on your machine?
If yes it may get corrupted, try to remove and reinstall jre again. Then try to install SOA. -
Issue while installing SOA Suite
Hi,
I am trying to install SOA 11.1.1.4 in my machine. I already installed webllogic 10.3.4 in my system and when I am running through the GUI , the installer is not
allowing me to select "Weblogic Server " in Application Server section. Websphere is selected my default and I am not able to change it to weblogic server.
Is there any file where I can make changes to stop it from taking websphere as default option.
Regards,
Vikas ManchandaHi Vikas,
I believe it has been set correctly coz unless it points to the right home, it won't allow me to go the next screenThis is not the case.
If the installer detects a Middleware home with Oracle WebLogic Server installed, then this is the application server that will be used. All other fields in this screen will be inactive.
If the installer detects a Middleware home without an Oracle WebLogic Server installed, you must select one of the application server options and then provide its location in the Application Server Location field.
If the installer does not detect a Middleware home directory, the "WebLogic Server" option will be inactive. You must select "WebSphere" and then provide the location of your IBM WebSphere in the Application Server Location field.

Error while installing PC Suite on Windows Vista m...
Hi, I am unable to install the PC Suite 7.1.30.9 software on my machine . The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. The installation starts but at 0% gives an error " Could not access network location %APPDATA% \. " . Can anyone please advice how to rectify this? I am using the Administrator access for installation so it may not be the authorisation problem. Thanks and have a nice day
I browsed this page earlier, and now im back to explain how i fixed my problem which is similar to yours.
All of the below must be followed manually: (that windows msgbox error is just confusing you) be reminded that:
%appdata% is not a network location. It is a systemwide variable used by Windows OS. %appdata% is a directory on your computer
I have win 7 OS, and i tweaked the below values so the Nokia_PC_Suite will install:
follow ALL of the following one by one:
-----first, the package----
first, go to the file which you downloaded from the net, (usually: Nokia_PC_Suite_eng_web.exe) right click the file and click properties, then click the compatibility tab and tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" then (select your OS on drop down box) then also click the lowermost button, "Run this program as administrator" then click OK. and close the properties box.
----second, the registry----(carefull a little mistake will render your machine unusable, so don't mess inside registry)
enter your registry by >> Start > Run > "type" regedit (without the word type) expand the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders, (on the right pane) you will see AppData, double click AppData and change the value to: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
do the above to below location also: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
----third, Windows environment variables----
in your windows, right click the "My Computer", then click "Properties" then click the Advanced tab, on the lowermost of the window click the button [Environment Variables], click edit and change the value of "Temp" to variable value: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming.
Now double click (re-install) the Nokia package which you have downloaded from Nokia website and i hope it will install flawlessly this time
