Error while installing Tuxedo 9.1 on Windows vista home premium .

Hi all,
I'm trying to install Tuxedo 9.1 on my laptop within Windows vista premium
I get this message "This application has unexpectedly quit. Invocation of this Java application
has caused an Invocation TargetException. This application will now exit(LAX)"
This error is due to null pointer exception.
You help will be welcome.

I'm not sure what the differences are between Vista Premium and Vista Business, but I believe Tuxedo 9.1 has only been certified on Vista Premium. Is the Windows system a 32 bit or 64 bit system? In any case, this would be something to contact Oracle support about. I know at one point some of the Tuxedo installers had difficulty with certain JVMs, although I think they mostly now include their own JRE.

Error while installing Oracle Applications 11i on Windows XP Home

Hi friends,
I am a functional consultant and trying to install oracle apps 11i on my home pc for learning purpose (I made a fresh install of windows for this purpose). I strictly followed the instructions given in following article:

Step1 and Step2 complete successfully to 100%, however just before moving to Step3 it gives error: "RW-50004: Error code received when running external process.". While trying to install oracle 10 g database in my laptop , i m getting error in the pre-requisite step itself.
i am getting the below mentioned error.

can anyone help me on resolving this.

Problem: The install has detected that the primary IP address of the system is DHCP-assigned.Apart from what OrionNet has already said, the actual problem being you are trying to install Oracle server on a laptop where the IP address is assigned at run-time by DHCP and not a static IP.
So you can
1. install a loopback adapter and use that or
2. get yourself a static IP
3. if your active directory allows name resolution, then manually override the check box in the installer and configure the network tools using the hostname instead of the IP addresses.

i just need to know whether Portal workshop 9.2 works on the
Vista operating system. if it does, could u reply me by saying what kind of changes is to be done in order to work.
I tried creating a sample EAR n WebProject, and tried to start the server , but it doesn't start. And if it starts, then it throws me an error saying cannot deploy Ear.
It takes for ever to start the server too.

it does work (for the fairly simple application i made).
Though when starting up the server i normally have to right click the .cmd and say run as administrator.
The anti virus/firewall also keep popping up warning messages and you have to allow all of them.

I trying to install oracle 10g server in Windows vista home premium. but when i am installing, after first screen it is poping up a message of Abnormal program termination "Abnormal program termination.An internal error has occured.Please provide following files to Oracel support.'Unknown',Unknown','Unknown' ".After seeing the message if i continue installation, installation completes, but when i am clicking SQL*plus, no SQL*plus window is opening.

I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
Two points, Steve:
1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?

According to your description, could you please post the summary and detail logs for further analysis? By default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Usually, the error occurs when the Windows Installer Service is not running or the Windows Installer registry settings are corrupted. I recommend you reset the Windows Installer Service settings in the registry and restart the Windows Installer Service,
then reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2. For more details, please review this similar

Error trying to install CS4 design premium on windows vista home premium

I'm having trouble installing CS4 design premium, as soon as it does the checking system it comes up with an error that says I need windows XP sevice pack 2 and some other windows. I have Windows vista home premium and all the other requirements, so i'm not sure why it's saying that? I do have CS3 installed but I didn't want to unistall it before I installed the CS4, cause then I wouldn't have anything to work on. The CS4 is brand new and I have it installed with no problems on another computer that has windows XP. Would I have to uninstall CS3 before I try to install it? I'm afraid that I will be left with neither if I do that and this was not a cheap investment to take that chance. Does anyone know how I could get CS4 design premium installed?

You should npt have to uninstall anything except Acrobat for CS4 to install. You can call tech support for free installation support.

Install error #1620 PrPro Windows Vista Home Premium

Install error 1620 when attempting to install CS4 "This installation package could not be opened" (for each component of the software package). Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, Intel i7 processor. Unable to install any components of PrPro. This is after a clean install of Vista Home Premium (part number x12-24171-01)with discs provided by microsoft.

I would never install a new OS over the top of what is there... wipe/format the hard drive and install fresh
Also, if you have a 64bit computer with more than 4Gig of ram, think about the 64bit version of Win7
CS4 can't use more than about 3Gig of ram, but if the OS can use more to run better... that is what I would do
Just be aware that you should still run CS4 in WinXP compatibility mode, as I posted before

Unable to Install Oracle OBIEE(v. 10.1.3.4.1) on Windows Vista Home Premium

I tried to do the OBIEE(v. 10.1.3.4.1) installtion 6-7 times on Sony Vaio Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit, till date I am not able to install OBIEE. It goes till last moment of the installation and stops.
I have a jdk1.6.0_16 installed, Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 installed and Oracle 10g for Windows Vista. I have also added the PATH of JDK in My Computer Environmental variables.

I installed OBIEE 10.1.3.4 version on my Windows Vista Home Premium successfully and working fine. while installing it asked to install JDK 1.4 or higher and got it working
I hope you went to Sever folder to execute the setup exe file there.
There are 3 folders after downloadig the product, I went to Server folder and clicked on Setup.exe there and got it working.
I am not sure why you were not able to, let me find any helpful information and will keep you updated.

but i think the whole operating system could be compromised(windows vista home premium)
actually these are drivers for a printer scanner fax copier from brother...but nothing is helping.....
I ran it as an Administrator..but either i get the message above or this error(difx driver package install error=1610154566.the exe's are 295-INST-A.EXE and 375-USB2KXPVISTA-32-A-US.EXE downloaded from Brother site...I don't know.Maybe i shall re install
the all operating system....this computer was my brothers...and he could have been compromised with today's viruses..I thank you for taking the time to answer me....
