Error while redendering menus/slideshow

Hi
I get a message telling me the an error has a occured whilst renering the menu/slideshow of my iDVD project.
This happens randomly with my projects and I can never seem to find the source of the problem.
The message of 'AN' error is not very helpful. What error? and how do I fix it?
Anyone have any suggestions?

Did you drop a large video file into a drop zone in the manu window?  That has caused problems to some.
What system and iDVD versions are you running?  What type of project do you have with what type of media?
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Error while rendering menus/slideshows--HELP!!

Ok. I've done my homework on this forum and the Mac help pages and nothing fixes this problem.
Initial issue: I have an iDVD project with pictures in drop zones, audio in the background, two menu pages each with 3-4 movies (both .dv and .mpg4), and a menu page with nothing but background audio and text.
While trying to create a disk image I received the (familiar to this board) error that there was an "Error while rendering menus/slideshows" and that burning was to be aborted.
    What I tried:
I cleared 41 gigs of free space on my boot drive.
I transfered all of my media files onto the boot drive.
I verified and repaired permissions. (until I did these last two items, the program wouldn't just fail, it would crash my computer, giving me the multilanguage *you must restart* greyed out page).
I downloaded the most recent quicktime, iTunes, and Mac OS updates.
I created a new iDVD project with only one video file (sepearately tried just a .dv and .mpg4 file).
I removed all quicktime extensions from my 'library/quicktime' and '~library/quicktime' folders.
I changed from 'higher quality' to 'better performance'.
I told it to process in the background.
I told it to delete the rendered files when it was done.
I ran the apple hardware Test from my Apple CD.
I turned off the hard drive/screen 'sleep' settings.
I switched the video format from NTSC to PAL.
I swore and came up with multiple comically profane file names for the disk images.
Nothing. It always gives the error following the 'processing menus' portion of the rendering.
    Facts:
    iBook G4
    1.2 GHz Power PC
    1.25 GB Ram
41.77 Gigs of free hard drive on boot disk.
    iDVD v5.0.1 (625)
    iMovie HD v5.0.2 (111)
    Quicktime v7.1.5
    Mac OSX v10.4.9
I'm running into a deadline and need to have this burned!!
    *** Mac?
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   1.2 G Ram

I switched the video format from NTSC to PAL.
Why in the world would you do this? You are in the
NTSC area. You must change the NTSC/PAL setting
    BEFORE you start a project.
Mostly because I don't know what it means and wanted to try anything.
All the video and audio is original content.
I ended up going to the Mac genius bar today. They said that it was a corrupted encoding file solved by a reinstall of iDvd. Sounds like a lot of people run into this problem?
On the topic of file formats... do you know why my titles look great in iMovie, but look like crap once I export them? Even if I export at "Full Quality". And is .dv better than .mpg4? I need a good primer.
    thanks,
    Ian
I suspect the problem lies in your mpg-4 content.
iMovie/iDVD have very spotty mpg-4 support. Try
    using something like VisualHub (
    http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/ ) to convert
your mpg-4 files to DV format. (You may also be
having problems with the music used in your menus.
    Where does it come from?)

  • Error while accessing menus in Runtime workbench from SLD

Hi I am getting following error while accessing menus in runtime workbench from SLD.( example: SLD->runtime workbench->component monitorung ->display)
"Error during communication with System Landscape Directory: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access "
I am using PISUPER to login to SLD and i am able to login to XI using this ID. I could find role -SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER - also in the user id profile of PISUPER.

    Hi Karthik,
Check if the roles are generated. Or ask your basis team to check.
IF the roles are generated then you have to check if exchange profile if the right username is mentioned or not.  IF username is right then reenter the password.
Check the following parameter in exchange profile.
    com.sap.aii.rwb.serviceuser.name
    com.sap.aii.rwb.serviceuser.pwd

  • I repeatedly get "error during rendering/encoding of menus/slideshow" message.  This process is the same on my iMac, MacBook and another iMac.  I have been burning dvd's int he same way for the past 12 months using the exact same steps successfully.

I keep getting "error during rendering/encoding of menus/slideshows" message.  I have been burning DVD's in exactly the same way for the past 12 months and mostly on my MacBook which is 3 years old.  Obviously I'm using iDVD.  I purchased an iMac about a year ago and moved to use this for dvd burning without problem.  A few months ago (approximately) I started to experience problems with burning with the error message above.  I tried everything including starting the whole process from scratch right down to capturing the movie clips from my video recorder into iMovie, then using them in iDVD.  Still the same message came up.  I lost count of how many times I repeated the process with different clips and variations and the same thing happened.  This was also the case with my MacBook and my husband's iMac.
After taking both of mymac's tothe service centre, having new optical thingys put it and even a new hard drive on my iMac along with a new DVD burner the same thing happened.  They told me it must be the process that I am using that is incorrect!
I took my 27" iMac to an apple shop and asked them to assist me while I use the same technique as I always had.  The same message came up so they tried using my clips in one of their mac's.  The same message. They tried it with different clips and the same message.  The only way we could get theirs to work was with a magic DVD which did not produce what I needed and was limited with only one page.
I now cannot use any of my Mac's for the intended purpose that I bought them for - to produce good media for my work!  It was suggested that I purchase some non Mac software to burn DVDs which defeats the object of having a mac with iDVD in my opinion.  I have a book on iDVD which is very informative and have followed the process to the letter and checked all the trouble shooting and still no remedy.  It was mentioned that an up-date may have caused the problem on all my macs.
I feel that this issue should be addressed by Apple as a matter of correctness.
I now find that on the net there are many posts in forums and such like with exactly the same (almost word for word) problems.  Please Apple, keep/regain your good name and sort this out.

Thanks Bengt W for your attention to this matter.  So much appreciated.  And thanks for putting me right on the aim of forums (new to this).  Although, you may regret asking for more information.  I've added everything I can below.
The process I used is as follows:
Import recorded clips of between 5 and 15minutes each from my video recorder into i
Edit the clips (remove unwanted start and endng)
Add title to front of clips
‘Share’ them to ‘movie’ (export using QuickTime)folder in .mov format individually
Open iDVD and ‘create new project’
Select ‘favourite’ theme that I have set up forall my work dvd’s (this has been used successfully many times and I’ve triedwithout using the favourite them).
Add 2 submenus for each group of clips
Select submenu  - drag and drop between 3 – 6 clips in each of the twosubmenus
    Change title colours on clips
Dragand drop image into drop zones where required
In‘map’ view I check for any yellow warnings before burning to disc
In an attempt to remedy the problems I’ve tried the following:
    Try new DVD discs
Try different themes (favourites and standardones)
    Change images in drop zones
Start whole process again even from importingfrom camera again
Two other completely different computers (iMacand MacBook) with iDVD
Go to apple shop and use their computers to doin iDVD
Try with one clip and no menu pages added
Use a clip that I already have that did notoriginate from my camera
    Turn computer off and restart
    New hard drive
    New optical lense (thing)
    New DVD burner
Saving to disc image rather than dvd disc
    Other points:
I also have a ‘flip’ and ‘iPhone’ whereI’ve imported footage camera which, although limited, records and makes videoclips and burns them to DVD through iDVD without problem.
For example, I have just gone through steps 5 - 11 using some clips that were already imported from my iphone to iPhoto and dragged across.  I used a theme that I've used before which has failed and added one sub menu page where the clip went.  It burned to disc image successfully.
The startup disc, I believe will have no space issues asit’s a new hard drive with no use apart from this.  That could have been an issue before (I didn’t check it) butnot now.
Other technical stuff that I don't understand but you may:
    I have…… Mac OS X Version 10.6.7 with all updates onit.  Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Corei7.  Memory 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

  • Error rendering/ encoding the menus/ slideshows in iDVD

I just setup my first dvd using the 08 version of iDVD and exported an hour long movie from FCP6 with chapters. iDVD recognized them and set up 2 chapter pages(1-8 and 9-14) i checked for errors in the map view but there were none and i checked the dvd to see if everything played and wat not, it all checked out. But when I pressed burn it goes to the burn window for a while showing that its encoding/ rendering the menus (chapter menu) and than it stops and a window comes up saying that there was an error during the rendering/ encoding of the menus/slideshows of the dvd. Please help me, what is going wrong? I am using Vintage Vinyl and i did try to save as a disk image but it failed aswell. I also tryed to use all '06 themes and even 3:4 '05 themes but the same exact thing happens. I have 20GB of space on my internal and over 100GB on an external so its not a theme or space issue. im very confused, please help.

+I have 20GB of space on my internal+
    That is the bare minimum...

  • An error occured while exporting the slideshow

Exporting a 400 slide slideshow. After it churns for awhile and the progress bar is all done, I get an error box that says:
AN error occurred while exporting the slideshow.
The export fiel could not be saved.
My only option is to click okay. No more detailed information available.
    1) One of my hard drives has 15 gig free and the other has 90 gig free
    2) I have a Users Movies directory ...nothing is in it.
    ANy suggestions?

Are you exporting by clicking the iDVD button in iPhoto? If so, try Share/Export to Full Quality Quicktime. It produces a video file that you can drag onto iDVD's menu area or import into iDVD. I've found it's a more stable way than making the jump directly from iPhoto to iDVD.

  • Error while deploying Capex Application Workforce

Error while Loading members for Dimension: Account
used parser is :class org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserImpl ---------- (What does this line mean, unable to correlate any functional setup for this)
Kindly help me in this regard.
    Regards,
    Uday

For the classic app where Capex is failing, options to try:
    * Creating the classic app without the wf/capex plan types first. i.e. do not select plan type wf and capex when you create the app in Planning Administration. After the app is successfully created with the basic plan types( Plan 1, 2 and /or 3), log into the app in workspace and initialize WF an Capex from within the app. The options show up in one of the menus as ‘Initialize Capex’ and ‘Initialize Workforce’ and will disappear after you initialize.
    * If this is the route that you took already, did you add any custom dimensions to the app? If so, you may have to add a ‘No DmensionName’ member for those custom dimensions. For example, if you created an additional dimension named ‘Project’, make sure you create a ‘No Project’ member under that dimension as the member formulas that come with WF/Capex look for such members for each dimension.
    Hope that helps.

hi iam trying to get the data into spry table(Dr-cs3) from xml file and iam using spry xml dataset.  my application is working in every browser except in IE.

Exception caught while loading menus.xml: TypeError: Access is denied.

  • Encode error while transcoding in CS5

I keep getting a Encode error while attempting to transcode in CS5. I have a 720p  59.94 fps  mpeg 2 file in which i am building a dvd project and outputting to a 8.5 gig folder. I am running W7, i have set all adobe programs to "run as administrator". Before building, i run the check project function and all is ok.
I can transcode in Adobe Media Encoder just fine, but i prefer to transcode within Encore while building my project.
I demux the files before importing into Encore. I was able to transcode successfully this file while building a project with no menus. But, i imported a seperate file with the same properties, and attempted to transcode and build another project with no menus and i get the "Encode" error.
Not sure what else i can do. In my particular case, i get better results when i transcode within Encore rather than using Adobe Media Encoder.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks

The error i get is "Encode error". It always happens
when transcoding begins. I tried transcoding before the build and i get the same error.
I am not using premiere so Dynamic link is not applicable in this case.
My file path name is short, but has a few spaces between the letters.
I have to import the assets as a seperate video and audio file. That is what i meant by demuxing. This is why i prefer to transcode within Encore because it will keep my 5.1 channel sound. If i transcode within Adobe Media Encoder, it is converted to 2 channel .

  • DIAdem 2011: Error while executing "PicPDFExport" command

    I'm using DIAdem v 11.3.0f4563 on Win2003 (32bit).
I'm unable to export reports to PDF (this has worked fine on previous DIAdem versions on the same HW/OS).
The problem occurs every time I select "File -> PDF Export..." from the menu.
First i get to select the file name, then a messagebox appears with the following text:
    Error while executing "PicPDFExport" command.
    Error type: UNKNOWN
    Error address: 0000AEF7
    Module name:kernel32.dll
After clicking "OK" the menus and buttons no longer work (but I'm able to switch between the different tabs), so I have to restart DIAdem.
I also have a script for exporting reports to DIAdem, this produces the same error message (but the rest of the application is still working after clicking OK, so no need to restart DIAdem).

How many cost centres are you putting in the role?  Do you have cost centre set as an org level?
From your User Name I assume that you are at the BBC...Do you still use a program to populate the cost centres in the role based on the cost centre group names?  If so it is possible that you are trying to put too many cost centres in the field and the the profile will not generate because of this (we had it back in 2001 when I was working there).
Do you have the technical error message details?
