Error while showing data in sub tab region

Hi,
I have created a custom OAF page with three Tabs
Device Details
User Privileges
Chart Templates
Under "User Privileges" There is a summary page which shows all User details records. When user click on "Update" icon control is delegated to "Update Page". Under update page I have two tabs
Devices
Organizations
Initially the data of selected user is loading successfully but when I click on "Organization" tab I am getting all user record instead of the selected user record only.
I debug the code and found that When I click on "Organization" tab the User_ID become null.
How to handle this ?

I debug the code and found that when I clicked on "Organization tab" the same page i.e. "User Privileges" gets called again.
When "User Privileges" page is getting load first time the values User_id is passed from summary page.
but in case on "Organization Tab" I am not passing any value when I click on "Organization tab".
Do I need to pass value again ?
Another thing is in processRequest I am firing query on VO based on USER_ID. Every time this will be called.
Can you please suggest me Best Practices for this ?

DB Connect Load - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table"

Hi Experts,
We have our BI7 system connected to Oracle DB based third party tool. The loads are performing quite well in DEV environment.
I would like to know, how we transport DB Connect datasources to Quality systems? Any different process to be followed for DB Connect datasources?
At present the connections between BI Quality and the third party quality systems are established. We transported the DataSource from BI DEV system to BI quality system, but on trigerring an infopackage we are not able to perform loads. It prompts - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table".
Also on comparing the DataSources in DEV system and Quality system there are no fields in "Proposal" tab of datasource in Quality system. Also I cannot change or activate Datasource in Quality system as we dont have change access in quality.
Please advice.

Did this issue get ever get resolved?
I am facing the same one. The loads work successfully in Dev. The transport for DBConnect DS also moved in successfully.
One strange this is that DB User for dev did not automatically change to db user from quality when I transported the DBConnect datasource. DBCon DS still shows me the DB User from Dev in Quality system
I get "Unknown Error" whenever I trigger the data package.

Sub Tab Region Personalization

Hi,
Is it possible personalize sub tab regions? The OA Framework Personlization guide says "Limited properties of SubTabs, such as Rendered, may be personalized at the Admin level but not at the end-user level." But when i login as sysadmin and try to personalize the page i dont see any option to personalize the sub tabs.
My requirement is to disable couple of sub tabs(6 sub tabs exists in all and 2 should be disabled) in a OA Fwk page shipped by Oracle for a specific responsibility say "A". For responsibilities other than "A" all the 6 sub tabs should be enabled. Can this issue be fixed through personalization?

I think, this can be achieved by the following:
1) Create custom menus (that is a copy of the seeded menus releated to the responsibilty)
2) Then check the tabs in the menu (weather it is a prompt or submenu)
3) Remove the prompt or submenu from the menu
Just removing the prompt will work in your case.
Also remember to keep all the submenus and functions like as it in the seeded menus to avoid future error while accessing some functions (This is Oracle recommendation)

In my message mapping I need to call a web service to which I need to send a field value consist of SIGNED DATA.
I am using SAP SSF API to read the certificate stored in NWA and Signing the Data as explained in

when I have tested using Test tab of message mapping it is working fine and I am able to access the certificate Keystore of NWA(we have created a keystore view and keystore entry to store the certificate) and generate the signed data ,but when I test end to end scenario from ECC system,it is getting failed in mapping with the error
' Error while signing data - Private key or certificate of signer not availableu2019.
Appreciate your expert help to resolve this issue urgently please.

Please check to ping the BI server IP 10.1.45.35 from your XI server , in case its working you can check telnet to SAP standard port like 3201/3601/3301/3901 etc.
It seems to be connectivity issue only.
Make sure your both the systems are up and running.
Revert back after checking above stuff.

I am working in a new enviorment and i am trying to save a report to the Crystal Server via the CMC. I am uploading the report from the objects tab and attempting to save to a folder. The report has 1 static defined parameter and that's it. When i click submit to save the report i receive the following error message: "There was an error while writing data back to the server: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder." There is not a anothe report within the folder with that name. What could be causing this error message and equally important, what is the solution.

hte message you received about duplicate user probably means something hadn't fully updated yet. Once it did then it worked...

Invalid character error while activating data in DSO.

Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue with presence of invalid characters in data from source. This throws SID generation error while activating data in DSO. Long text of error shows like this:
"Value " ĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠĠ" (HEX 000D0120012001200120012001200120012001200120012001) of characteristic contains an error at position 1"
Also we've tried adding the character " Ġ " in TCode RSKC, but it then shows as a rectangle box which I'm not able to copy manually(looks like a blank space or something of that sort).
We've tried implementing routine to remove special characters while loading data, but still it fails. Due to huge amounts of data, its practically unfeasible to check each record manually.
Any useful suggestions will be acknowledged.

We are using following code for the same purpose. U can use it at infoobject level mapping. This code will check value of each character in the data coming, whether it is in RSKC, if it is a allowed one then it will be passed as it is. Otherwise it will replace that character by space.

Error while passing date parameters in procedure and commit issue

1) I am doing a archiveing records and pls find my code below and i have couple of issue,pls find my code and want to ensure the commit is happening every 100000 rows inserted but i am archeiving a huge table but when i checks the table frequently it shows 0 records and after it shows count the actual rows around 20 million records.How can i ensure it commiting on every 100000 records. pls find my code my db version is 10g on windows

thats your correct procedure - but NOT CORRECT ISSUE.
You should use bulk collect with limit clause and forall clause to do it faster!!! Or Merge clause.

Error while loading data to ODS

Hello BW folks ,
I am getting an error while loading data to ODS from R/3 data source.
The error message is " Error in PSA".
We have deleted yesterday data from PSA for the related infosource/data source successfully .
Since then this error is occuring. Previously data upload was successful.
In Detail tab of monitor we are getting error message in Request option ( red Mark )
and the same request is not going to R/3 .
<b>The related Job itself is not present in R/3 .</b>
This looks very strange and new to me .
Could anyone help me in rectifying this issue ?

I tried to replicate the data source once again and activate the transfer rules in BW Production by running program in SE38 = RS_TRANS* activate all tranfer sturctures , then I got an error message that one infoobject is added to transfer rules in BW Production .
But interestingly the same Transfer rules do not have this infoobject in BW Development server . So I create once again a request for Transfer rules in Dev and transported it to BW production.
and This solved the problem
The error message in Monitor was " Error in PSA " and then request itself was not going to R/3 . But the real issue was with Transfer rules. So after rectifying it we have solved the problem of data upload.

It seems like while updating few records may be no in the format of the field in which it is updated.

Error while saving date value in Java dictionary

Hello Everybody,
I got following error while saving date value in one of the fields of the Java table.
Internal error occured in submit request: Error in method updateRequestContact : The object of type java.sql.Date with the value '2005-12-04 08:00:00.0' assigned to host variable 9 is not normalized. It must not contain time components in the time zone running the virtual machine.
I can't find why it is taking time value in the date object.
This value is coming from the RFC as a date value, and I am saving this value in Java dictionary table.
Same code for this was working fine earlier. But, now suddenly it gives error like this.
Even if I provide date on the screen from webdynpro application, this date value can't save in the Java dictionary and gives same error.
What should be the problem behind this?

More Information:
I have dat value in the Date object: <b>target_date</b>
But Now I have made new Date object as following:
Date target_Date1 = new Date(target_date.getYear(),target_date.getMonth(),target_date.getDate());
Then I am passing this object to Java dictionary. Still it gives same error.
Then I have changed code as following:
          int l_year;
          int l_month;
          int l_days;
          l_year = target_Date.getYear();
          l_month = target_Date.getMonth();
          l_days = target_Date.getDate();
     Date target_Date1 = new Date(l_year,l_month,l_days);
Now it works for me.
But I guess this is not the perment solution. It looks very strange. I have used so many date objects at various palces. So, this solution is not the final for me.
I want to findout the main cause of it.
One more thing: This code was working for a mornth or two. But, now suddenly it is giving this error.
Please help me if anybody knows.

Error while generating Data provider

We are facing a weird issue while using Design Studio 1.2. Locally the tool works fine but when we use it from BI-Launchpad or through BI Enterprise it gives intermittent error "Error while generating Data Provider"
Same setup works fine in our Validation Environment.
We have tried running repair for Design Studio, redeploy the war files, creating new view but issue still exist.
We have BI 4.0 SP7 installed on Windows 2008 R2 system.
4 CMS running in cluster, Design Studio 1.2 is installed on 3 Nodes out of 4.
For now we are using 1 tomcat to access the system to narrow down the issue.
Experts please help us to resolve this issue.

I am not clear what your data source is, but I recommend checking the PAM https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001013822013E because there are some limitations with Design Studio and BI4.0

It would appear that you external table definition and the external data file data do not match up. Post a few input records so someone can duplicate the problem and determine the fix.
