Error while starting Oracle Secure Backup Service on Windows

Hi,
I've installed an Oracle 10gR2 database, and an OSB on a Windows XP (SP2) machine, and when trying to start the service (Oracle Secure Backup Services) I got the following error :
"Unknown():Unable to load dynamic library'./php_osb.dll'-The operating system cannot run %1"
This error message pops up 2-3 times, and I cannot login to OSB web page.
My database works ok, but I cannot "test" OSB
Anyone else had the same problem? Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Panagiotis

Hi-- could you please describe your administrative domain?
I need to know the operating systems on each of the
clients and the OSB admin server. Also, does 'obtool' CLI
tool work? Do any of the machines act as an apache webserver
for another application? Is there any other backup service
running on any of the machines?
thanks,
Judy
I noticed that when re-installing the OSB without the
Administrative Server (only Media Server and Client)
I got no errors at all (but still cannot connect from
another Administratice Server to my machine)

  • Error while starting Oracle Management server service

    Hi all,
    We are about to administer our database using Oracle Enterprise manager. For that we have configured OEM in a Test PC and tried to connect our database.
    First i have logged in to OEM Console with Sysman login id using the default password "oem_temp" and it prompts me to change the password, also i have changed the password as "xxxxx" and i have come out of OEM console and tried to relogin using the changed password.
    i got the message as invalid login or password or
    check for the availablity of Management server service"
    i found that the service Oracle Management server which was previously running is not running now and i tried to restart that manually.
    On doing that i got a message as
    "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
    Would any one of u help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance..

  • Error while installing the BAM Updater Service in Windows

    Hi all,
    I am getting an error while installing the BAM updater service in Windows. When i type the "oraclebpmdatawarehouse install " command in the command prompt it gives error as follows:

    Please can anyone tell me how to get rid of this error.
    I have already done everything else like setting the database and other things.
    Thanks.

    From the error message you specified, I guess you are trying to install MS Office SP2 package. If you are then its not MS Office package its just a Service Pack; something like a patch. You need to install a Full Base package first. Again, as mentioned by Rajiv - refer to MS Support

    I don't think is possible that your server doesn't have a name, you need to correct this, problem of using this name is that the configuration of the OAS will use the ip 127.0.0.0 and if for some reason it found the othe ip, it will be seen as an ip change and this kind of errors could happen.
    I think you have to correct this, set a name for the server, put it in the host file and reinstall, in the installation notes there is one part in the prerequisits, that ask you to check that you have set this correctly, use a qualified name hostname.domainname and by preference an static IP and this has to match the hostname command.
    Hope this helps.

    Seem that is a problem in starting DB instance phase, specificly for DBMS instance (you need to check detailed DB starting log in run directory).
    For Run Directory, check this link:

    I have found out the problem and solution for this OPMN error, its actually our Fusion team work
    the error is caused by Port conflicts we believe
    so by using these set of commands of opmnctl
    usage: opmnctl [verbose] [<scope>] <command> [<options>]
    verbose: print detailed execution message if available
    Permitted <scope>/<command>/<options> combinations are:
    scope command options
    start - Start opmn
    startall - Start opmn & all managed processe
    stopall - Stop opmn & all managed processe
    shutdown - Shutdown opmn & all managed proce
    [<scope>] startproc [<attr>=<val> ..] - Start opmn managed processes
    [<scope>] restartproc [<attr>=<val> ..] - Restart opmn managed processes
    [<scope>] stopproc [<attr>=<val> ..] - Stop opmn managed processes
    [<scope>] reload - Trigger opmn to reread opmn.xml
    [<scope>] status [<options>] - Get managed process status
    [<scope>] dmsdump [<attr>=<val>&..] - Get DMS stats
    [<scope>] set [<attr>=<val> ..] - Set opmn log parameters
    [<scope>] query [<attr>=<val>] - Query opmn log parameters
    ping [<max_retry>] - Ping local opmn
    validate [<filename>] - Validate the given xml file
    config [<options>] - Modify the opmn xml file
    help - Print brief usage description
    usage [<command>] - Print detailed usage description
    we have shutdown the opmn box and restarted all of its process
    it did not happen in the first time itself i have to repeat this for a several times then the SOA suite is running normally
    if any one faces this issue i can help

    Hi Cema,
    Make sure that httpd.conf file (located at /ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf ) has not changed.
    Is your AS running on Linux? ".so" is used in case of linux only and for windows extension should be ".dll"
    Please use the same if your http server is running on windows. HTTP Server documetation may have more details related to this.
    Regards,
    Anuj

    First time i installed Oracle my .bash_profile was wrong, i had forgotten to add oracle in my ORACLE_HOME-PATH so i guess the others under was messed up to. But ive changed it now and restarted my computer, i have even tried to exclude the lines about LD_LIBRARY_PATH and CLASSPATH (i guess the first errors i posted refer to these paths).
    I followed a guide with my friend and his system is fine without the errors, mine isnt. But maybe you know more about the errors i get when starting graphic tools like dbca and netca.

    Software uses a "lock" to guard a data structure against concurrent
    modifications, leading to corruption.
    A "backtrace" is the trail of how the program reached this point in the code --
    sort of like a trail of cookie crumbs in a maze.
    Looks like the X-Org stuff Fedora 10 uses improved things so much that legacy
    apps have started breaking. I checked the source code for the libxcb RPM. It
    appears that:
    $ export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1
    is supposed to avoid crashing but will still report this backtrace. Ultimately,
    the application will need to be fixed for libxcb-1.1.91 but until this RPM
    version gets used in a supported Oracle environment, a fix may not happen soon.
    So, if it ain't crashing then it works :)
